We recently made reservations at Prime 115 for a birthday celebration on a friday night. Once we arrived we were immediately sat at our table. Reservations were for 6:30 we got there a few minutes late but they weren't busy so it didn't seem to be a big deal. We were sat upstairs by the bar which is where they usually seat us so that's fine. There isn't a bad seat in the house. We sat down and someone immediately got us some water, didn't speak much or tell us that our waiter would be right with us...Just walked off. We sat at the table for about 20 minutes with 3 different waiters walking back and forth to enter orders and take orders from several tables, one of which sat down after we did. When I go to a place as nice as Prime 115 and the prices are higher than most places in this area I expect a little higher standards than what we received. I called The Emory Bar and Kitchen as we were sitting at the table in Prime 115 to see if they had any tables available....they did! We got up and left and let the hostess know ow that we never had a waiter stop to communicate they would be right with us or greet us in anyway. This was my brothers and I first time at Prime 115, none of us heard if it. But, we decided to give it a go for lunch. The ambience of Prime 115, is of a high class type restaurant. We were promptly greeted by two of the sweetest, most warm welcoming, politest, with very nice smiles, young ladies Ms. Cat, hostess, and Ms. Stephanie, waitress. Ms. Cat led us to a booth and us feel very comfortable. Prime 115, is very elegant, neat, very clean and well organized established restaurant and especially quiet. To our surprise this restaurant has two floors upstairs and main floor with an elevator to assist customers who may not be able to climb stairs. Ms. Stephanie, our waitress promptly served us water, and never rushed to place our orders. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. Ms. Stephanie, was truly awesome as she had several tables to attend to and she made each of her customers feel as they were highest priority. We ordered the button mushrooms, as an appetizer thinking that they were going to be fried mushrooms. (apologies I forgot to take a picture.) The button mushrooms were baptized in Worcestershire (we called it worsesister)sauce with butter, for $12.00. To our surprise they were really good, albeit just a tad bit too salty. After we finished our appetizer Ms. Stephanie, promptly arrived to take our order for our main meal. Our eldest brother ordered the prime steak sandwich lunch which consisted of sliced tenderloin on a grilled sourdough, gargonzola, marinated tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and garlic aioli, with a side of their homemade potato chips for $19.00. The potato chip were well seasoned, crispy perfection very tasty. The prime steak sandwich, was well seasoned, cooked to perfection, very tasty all the trimmings worked well with the sandwich. My youngest brother and I both opted to order the prime burger lunch which consisted of an 8oz wagyu patty, sharp cheddar, house berger sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles, with a side of their homemade potato chips, for $19.00. Our hamburgers were well cooked, seasoned perfectly, very tasty and the trimming of our burgers went well with our burgers. As stated previously the homemade chips were perfectly seasoned, and crispy. As I saw it was our first time the6snd overall our experience was very pleasant. I don't know why the reviews are low but come here if you want food done right. Everything is made from scratch. There is a lot of history as well, and 2 floors where the second floor almost feels like a speakeasy. Don't skip the bread! The bread has an amazing texture with two options for dipping - butter made from scratch with a slightly softer texture and olive oil and vinegar mix. The potato croquettes are different than your traditional Japanese croquettes - the inside is even softer and the outside is even cruncher. There is proper seasoning throughout the croquettes and it was delightful. The potato chips were obviously made from scratch with some cheese sprinkled on. The wagyu burger is fantastic - juicy, delicious and fresh vegetables with a slightly crunchy bun. The pickles are also pickled in house with their own recipe I will come back. Our reservation was made 3 weeks in advance, requesting a 4 tip table downstairs. The waitress took us up stairs to a very small 2 top against the back wall! We asked to be moved to a 4 top, also upstairs, and were told it was reserved. No one showed up for that one for over an hour. One dinner arrived, the other 20 minutes later. However, there was a group of us that came for brunch Sunday morning and we were in agreement that the quality of food was not what it usually is. There was NO sausage in the sausage gravy, the pancakes were cold and hard, the eggs were way over salted and the attention to detail was just lacking. I absolutely love the ambiance of this restaurant. It's very warm and inviting with a feel of elegance but also casual for daytime meetings. The service was wonderful, the hostess to the server and top notch waitress, who should train all wait staff everywhere. Unfortunately nobody goes to a restaurant for the service, at least nobody I know. The food was horrible! For the price you pay for a meal there you should ensure it tastes good. Let's start at the salad, that you have to pay extra for. It was a wedge salad that had blue cheese dressing with candied pecans. The dressing was watered down mayonnaise with crumbles of blue cheese and the candied pecans were hard as rock I almost broke a tooth. Then the meal, stroganoff with braised short ribs and mushrooms. Sounds wonderful (I love stroganoff by the way). The braised short rib was tender and tasted like a rib, had no sauce taste, no wine taste. Tasted like it was braised in water and set on top of noodles that were supposed to have a sour cream sauce over it. It may have been sour cream but it was watered down and bland. The mushrooms were nice and plump and soaked in a wine, which normally would be fine but didn't really have the flavor of stroganoff. It tasted more like three separate items that they placed on in a bowl. It should have had a blended taste that complimented each other. It was bland and didn't taste like stroganoff at all. Next entree was Gorgonzola chicken and shrimp with noodles. This also came in a bowl with noodles that were completely covered by four flattened small chicken breasts that were super salty and overcooked and very dry. There was a few shrimp that was tucked under the chicken. I was frustrated with this entree mainly because you couldn't cut the chicken in such a small bowl filled to the brim with flat chicken. There was no taste of Gorgonzola until you got to the noodles which was more like soup than a sauce. Our guests ordered a salad which I already wrote about and a New York strip. They brought the steak out on a plate that had two thin sirloins not New York strip and that was it. So when you order at this restaurant you pay separately for a salad, a side and an entree. So for one dry tough steak meal you pay about 80$, the stroganoff was about 28$ as was the Gorgonzola chicken and we split a 20$ salad. Absolutely a rip off. It may help if they get a decent chef. You'll get a better steak at Saltgrass. If Chef Gordon ate there he'd throw that plate right out the window! It seemed like they were watering down all the sauces to save money but for what they charged we could have fed a neighborhood. read more

The service was beyond great, I chose this place for a first date, and I had brought her flowers. The elder gentleman, I'm going to GUESS a manager, brought out a vase to put the flowers in while we were there. Not something that I had expected, but was greatly appreciative of. Beautiful Saturday afternoon antique shopping in the Waxahachie square. Decided to stop in for early dinner at Prime 115. Walked through a gorgeously crafted door only to be met with a stern and confusing "can I help you?" As if we were in the wrong place. The restaurant is located in what use to be an old bank building. I enjoyed the homage to past musicians like Frank Sinatra and Elvis. We had calamari to start, it was as expected. Very small portion and most likely frozen but decent. We both ordered the New York strip. Cooked perfectly, slightly tough if I'm being picky and overly salted but still good. Lemon and shrimp risotto was delightful. Creamy and had the perfect amount of lemon. Truffle Mac and cheese was really Mac and cheese that sat close to truffle. It was delicious Mac and cheese, not sure I would advertise it as truffle. Perhaps truffle-ish. My daughter had chicken Alfredo which had the perfect amount of garlic and cream. Chicken was juicy and cooked well. Our waiter seemed annoyed and uninterested. Which I can look past until a table was sat next to us and our waiters personally instantly became friendly and jovial . Our evening was odd between the unwelcoming greeting, the long wait times for food and the waiter acting as if we didn't belong. Then dessert came out. Limoncello mascarpone cake and rich cheesecake made us forgive their rude behavior and slow service. The appetizers were delicious and we were highly impressed until our ribeyes came. They were very underwhelming, the meat was chewy and dry. The meat also did not have any flavor to it except a burnt taste. Honestly it was the same quality steak as a Texas Roadhouse steak, which was disappointing considering the almost $70 price per steak. The service was good but all of the severs (water, delivering of the food and main server) were not very people oriented, barley said but a few words, never introduced themselves or anything it was quite strange. What a beautiful restaurant this is in the historic former County Bank Building. The intricate original detailing, old bank vaults, and porcelain flooring with the ornate brass railings are all just wonderful along with the new chandeliers and gleaming wood. The sun was streaming in the enormous windows when we had lunch there on a busy Saturday in downtown Waxahachie. Inside the restaurant, it was not so busy except for a large beautiful bridal party on the Mezzanine. We were meeting family and as a party of 6 we had been seated downstairs at a table that was half banquette and chairs. Sadly, my chair felt worn out. It hit rock bottom as I sat in it. I've had recent hip surgery and notice these things. I stayed put; it was just lunch after all and we were the last to arrive. We took some time to peruse our menus and I confess that I had read a number of reviews prior in order to help along my decision. In the end, my husband and I both had the Boneless Short Rib Beef Stroganoff with Porcini Mushrooms. Two others had the Prime Burger, an 8 Oz. Wagyu Beef patty, with Berger sauce and LTOP. My granddaughter ordered her favorite, the Chicken Alfredo, and my son's friend ordered the Wedge salad. The ordering came with a bit of bread service hub bub. How do you ever know for sure if you'll be served bread at your table, especially with lunch? It wasn't offered and apparently somebody must have wanted some, so my son asked for some. A kind of half loaf, partly burnt not charred, arrived and it was pretty small for 6 people. Our waitress responded to a request for more and it arrived in better shape. I loved the truly delicious balsamic and olive oil for dipping. I wasn't particularly happy when she took my appetizer/bread plate while I was still holding and eating a slice of bead as well as my knife that I'd buttered with and didn't bring replacements after. It's an overall impression of service that sticks with you. The salad arrived well before the rest of the food and it was basically her entree. Everything else rolled in together and the pasta portions for lunch were enormous. The burgers looked beautiful with wonderful fresh potato chips. Eventually I had three meals from my Stroganoff. The Boneless Short Rib was tender, the Pappardelle Pasta was exquisite, perfectly cooked and the Porcini Mushrooms were a delight! Marinated and probably roasted, they were so very good. I did ask if the guys had any input as to how well their burgers had been cooked. They said they hadn't been asked. Neither likes theirs anything less than well done and the burgers looked it. Fortuitous, I guess. Salad "okay" and Chicken Alfredo "good" was the other input received. We had no dessert. Our waitress kept our water filled and brought me lemon when I asked for it. I asked her to take our meals to the kitchen to box them up and she obliged. Staff on site were very friendly and welcoming, encouraging us to go up to the Mezzanine and look around. They have both stairs and an elevator. The restrooms are only on the first floor. Parking on this busy Saturday was found all the way across the Courthouse Square. This is definitely an upscale steak house in what I would call downtown Waxahachie. I'm surprised I haven't written this sooner since we celebrated our son's wedding dinner there. So we made reservations for about 15 or so people and the reservation people at Prime 115 put us in a nice spot upstairs to that felt secluded. The building itself was an old bank back in the day, but the ambiance screams fancy steakhouse. The wife and I split the bone-in-ribeye, split the roasted mushrooms, and split the red skin potatoes and oh yeah, split the wedge salad. The ribeye was good, the mushrooms were ok, the red skin potatoes were awesome and the wedge salad lacked dressing, blue cheese crumble and probably some other stuff, it's been a good minute. We also had a try of the chili crab pasta and a risotto dish (no pic) and those two have great flavors, but the chili crab pasta lacked crab meat, tasty though. Overall the service was great, the drinks were great and we will be back for sure! read more

At the end of the meal 4 had been swatted out of existence. The survivors will move onto the next family. The service was good but then the food came out and it left a lot to be desired. The poached eggs on the eggs benedict resembled the eggs you would receive on an egg mc muffin at McDonalds. To make things worse they were cold. The fried chicken and waffles were actually chicken nuggets on top of a sad waffle. The chicken was labeled as hot but it had more of a sweet and sour taste. We were given menus and a list of the specials and asked if we wanted to order a glass or bottle of wine, which we found unusual since we hadn't even a chance to look at the menus. After looking things over, we selected the Valentine's Day special, which consisted of a fried quail appetizer, a 22 ounce ribeye with fried shoestring potatoes and broccolini, and a lava cake for dessert. In a nutshell, we were disappointed with the entire experience. Our server was pleasant but the food arrived at a glacial pace. Speaking of which, the food was entirely underwhelming, and the price was far higher (around $300 with wine and tip) than the meal and service deserved. The single fried quail split in half served as the appetizer was tasty but overcooked and a bit dry. A food runner wordlessly placed our main course on our table and left. After requesting and waiting for what seemed like 10 minutes for individual dinner plates, we found the steak to be nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked, but it was very tough and full of inedible gristle - obviously a poor/cheap cut of meat. It came with a tasteless sauce the consistency of mayonnaise in small sauce cup. When asked about the sauce, the server told us it was béarnaise. I'm not sure what is was but it was definitely not like any béarnaise I've ever tasted. The fries were tasty and so were the 4-5 sprigs of broccolini. The "lava cake" consisted of two small disposable heart-shaped tins (they reminded us of cat food tins) containing a brownie and chocolate sauce "lava cake" each topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We can't speak to the other items on the menu, but based on our experience, we definitely do not recommend this restaurant until and unless they step up their game. Sadly the food was way, way below par. We had two different steaks (New York Strip and a Delmonico Rib Eye) as well as the Pork Chop. The beef was tough, dry, highly, highly, highly over seasoned as were the sided dishes. The beef had very little beef flavor - if present it was overwhelmed by the salt. It was a salt mine all around. The Pork Chork, ordered medium, was Saraha-like (very dry) , no pink to be seen also saltly as heck. One a positive note the Martinis were excellent. We had a change of plans for our Anniversary, and Yelp suggested Prime 115. We had an enjoyable evening! First: drinks. We tried an old fashioned and a Manhattan; both were excellent and I appreciated the Luxardo cherries. Hubby got the caprese salad and I had the Caesar, and we enjoyed them. He got the ribeye and it was cooked a true rare! I chose the sea bass and it was awesome. The recommended Spanish white wine was perfect with it. For dessert, we had the cheesecake with strawberries. We had our Son's wedding rehearsal dinner there for a party of 16. Ben, our waiter did a fantastic job of keeping up with drinks and orders even with us being upstairs. The food was great! Steaks seasoned well and cooked perfectly to everyone's liking. We scheduled with the manager 5 months prior and had no problem with our reservation and everything was set and ready for us when we arrived.
