The restaurant seemed completely unprepared for such a busy holiday. They ran out of dishes and had to switch to plastic ware, and my husband's drink was served in a red Solo cup. What made the experience even worse was the DJ setup. The speakers were enormous and the music was turned up so loud it felt more like being inside a nightclub than a restaurant. I enjoy music and a fun atmosphere, but not at a volume where you can't relax, talk, or enjoy dinner comfortably. It became so uncomfortable that I actually had to leave and come back later to pick up my husband and friend after they finally received their food. Sadly, I never even got to eat dinner that night. Cinco de Mayo is a major event every year, so there was plenty of time to prepare for the crowd and overall experience. I also appreciate that their daily specials , can be ordered on any day of the week, example: if you are visiting on a Monday , you're still able to order the Thursday special and many restaurants don't allow that. Customer service was miraculous, from the servers all the way up the owners . The owner or who looks and seems to be the owner, was so hands on and involved , making sure to meet his guest at the door , walking around checking on each table , delivering food himself and that was a great thing to see and experience. My tacos immediately crumbled when I tried to pick them up and bite them . I ended up having to turn the tacos into a taco salad. The taco meat ( ground beef ) tasted like Taco Bell's meat , which made me feel like I most definitely should have just gone to Taco Bell and I would have received more than what I got in this order and I still would have paid less , and got better quality. A Hispanic male waiter approached us without greeting and simply asked how many were in our party before seating us in a booth directly in front of the men's bathroom. Sitting near a toilet is unacceptable; it ruins the dining experience regardless of the food's quality. I explicitly asked to be seated elsewhere, away from the restroom. The waiter responded with visible resentment, retrieving the menus with a displeased expression and body language. Instead of accommodating our request, he chose to seat us next to a group of about 12 people, including adults and children. The noise was overwhelming, making conversation impossible. His retaliation for our discomfort was to seat us in the loudest part of the restaurant. Given that the restaurant was nearly empty apart from the two families, this was unreasonable. Frustrated, my husband and I decided to leave. We came expecting a pleasant evening of authentic Mexican cuisine. This waiter clearly needs training in customer service.
