Unfortunately, our dining experience was overshadowed by the service we received. Our assigned server (the only male server on staff, though I don't remember his name) took our drink order, but another employee brought our drinks. After waiting about 15 minutes, I had to get his attention just to order the guacamole appetizer. He quickly walked away and didn't return for another 25 minutes to take our entrée order, then left again. Throughout our time waiting for our appetizer and entrees, two other servers were the ones checking on us, refilling our drinks, chips, and salsa, and making sure we had what we needed. Despite ordering the guacamole, we never received it. We tried several times to get our server's attention, but it felt like we were being overlooked. Our server never checked on us again, brought our check, or handled our payment--I was able to wave the manager down instead. We explained what had happened, and while the experience with our assigned server was very disappointing, we made it clear that we plan to return because the food was outstanding.

I ordered 6 barbacoa tacos, they were super small, and they doubled the small tortillas, but my husband says that's common so there's that. The meat portion was ok but not enough for 2 tortillas piled together, I ended up taking one of the tortillas off the tacos and together we made like 7 one tortilla tacos, I wish I would've taken a picture before we ate them, they were really nice and neat. The barbacoa, was super juicy and soft, I thought it was good, but my husband didn't like it, he said it had too much anise, I don't know how to make barbacoa so I couldn't tell you what I was tasting, it had a somewhat of a sweet taste to it, but not strong to me, I enjoyed it, I ate like 3 tacos and my husband ate like 2. It was our very first time visiting this restaurant, but I would like to go again and perhaps try something different, according to the Yelp reviews, they say this restaurant is really good so I'm going to give it another shot and hopefully my husband will like it better if he orders something that appeals to him. I have to say, I enjoyed the barbacoa tacos, I thought they were good.

It was almost black on the outside and just warm on the inside, a perfect rare as wagyu beef should be. The meat was unctuous and delicious without being greasy or fatty. It was so richly umami flavorful, perfectly seasoned. It was just an excellent steak. The bourbon bread pudding was a huge serving and wonderfully flavorful. There was some nice bread to go with the meal too. The smoked old fashioned cocktail before dinner was excellent. And I got a nice Cabernet that perfectly paired with the steak. Our server was casual but friendly with a good balance of hospitality and service. This was truly a great dinner and one of the best steaks I've ever had... and all of this in Ennis, Texas. Perhaps because they have a well-stocked bar with good beer and better bourbon selections. Don't skip the Smoked Old Fashioned. Food is great with traditional steakhouse choices and some pricier Wagyu options. When we are there, we seem to settle on a family style board with 2-3 cuts and the Beef Rib. Oh my, the Beef Rib smoked for 73 hours because I guess 3 days isn't quite enough time. Sides are solid and the table typically gets excited about the Brussels sprouts. Jalapeno Cheddar Cream Corn is can't miss either. Service is prompt, friendly and helpful. I'm here at least once a trip when in the greater Ennis metroplex. You should visit too.

We recently made reservations at Prime 115 for a birthday celebration on a friday night. Once we…read morearrived we were immediately sat at our table. Reservations were for 6:30 we got there a few minutes late but they weren't busy so it didn't seem to be a big deal. We were sat upstairs by the bar which is where they usually seat us so that's fine. There isn't a bad seat in the house. We sat down and someone immediately got us some water, didn't speak much or tell us that our waiter would be right with us...Just walked off. We sat at the table for about 20 minutes with 3 different waiters walking back and forth to enter orders and take orders from several tables, one of which sat down after we did. When I go to a place as nice as Prime 115 and the prices are higher than most places in this area I expect a little higher standards than what we received. I called The Emory Bar and Kitchen as we were sitting at the table in Prime 115 to see if they had any tables available....they did! We got up and left and let the hostess know ow that we never had a waiter stop to communicate they would be right with us or greet us in anyway. Very disappointed in the service here but I'm sure the food is still wonderful.
