first time going there today for the morning. I was really craving a Mexican breakfast. The mini look pretty good. I have to admit, had ham and eggs with beans and potatoes, but was really disappointed when I received my plate, but a little bit of potatoes. A lot of egg, but wasn't when I expected it. Three tortillas. Also ordered a bachata and she brought me the biggest size of without asking what size I want it. The drink was almost 7 dollars versus my plate at 13. So the drink was almost 50% of the value of the plate. I couldn't believe it. I guess. If she maybe would've offered. We live in Midlothian and came into Ennis to drop off our car to Avenue Automotive. It was 11 am and decided to grab a bite before we head home. Hilda caught our eye and our tummies couldn't be happier. The service was welcoming and our waitress was the utmost attentive and pleasant. We need to come back to grab our car when it's ready and mention we'll be back. We anticipated it would be about dinner time and quickly found out they close at 2 everyday. Sadly we will won't be able to have them for dinner tomorrow. But will definitely come back and venture out to Ennis again just for their delicious food. read more

Just Passin Through 2024: if you're passin' through Ennis TX on your way to somewhere stop and see Hilda. The food is excellent. I had the chilaquiles and had them add chorizo. Had I known how good the refried beans were I'd have skipped the potatoes and asked for double beans. Hubs had eggs Mexicana with chorizo added. Also excellent. The chips and salsa are great as are their coffee and sweet tea. Homemade tortillas is the bonus. We got Hilda herself tableside, perhaps the biggest bonus of all. The inside set up was pretty nice. The service was good and food came out quickly. The flower tortillas were big but they did not taste great and they got hard 5 minutes into eating. The corn tortillas were better but not great as well. The salsas were mid at best. The food was too pricey for the taste. I did not hate it but I would not come back. read more

Stopped here before work for breakfast. I got the Migas egg plate. Basically eggs with tortilla strips. I really like them. You get refried beans and potatoes. Potatoes are soft. Beans are good. Also got a single pancake that was good. You are also served homemade chips and salsa. The chips are thicker than what I usually like but are tasty. Salsa has a nice flavor but is very fluid and not thick like I like. But the taste is really good and just a little warm. You get two huge homemade tortillas on the side. I like to tear of sections and make little tacos with the tortillas. I got unsweet tea. Very good and no aftertaste. Waitress was very attentive. The atmosphere is country music and a TV on the wall with the news in the morning. I notice a lot of people with trucks come here. Plenty of parking for long trucks on the sides of the building. There are tables along the windows and booths in the middle of the restaurant. Good place to start your day. read more

0/10 do not recommend. This is one of the worst Mexican restaurants we've ever been to. The food and customer service at Taco Bell is better than this place. Aside from the fact that the staff barely acknowledges you, the food tastes like the cook drank too much last night and is nursing a hangover. For starters, the chips are too thick and the salsa is bland. We ordered the migas and the quesadillas. The tortillas were thick and burned, fajita meat was over cooked and tasted old, and the rice and potatoes looked and tasted like they had been cooked days before and reheated. Definitely a disappointment based on all the good reviews that made us wanna try this place out in the first place. read more

Oh my gosh the staff here was sooooo nice! After a morning of Bluebonnet looking we turned to Yelp for a place to eat. We came in about 30 mins before they closed and they were so sweet. I am sure they wanted to go home but they never made us feel rushed or like we were keeping them from closing. We ordered the taco salad special and it was a great flavor and the bowl was a perfect crispy addition. Chips and salsa we good too. The restrooms and dinning area were nice and clean however the restroom does not have a handicap rail and it was a little difficult to get up with a broken limb. read more
