We used to come yeeaarrs ago like 10 years ago when they had different owners I'm guessing. And it used to be my husband's and my favorite taco spot around us but I haven't been back since, until today. The outside looks like a little shack but if you've been to a taco spot most of the time that's not the problem as long as they have seating you're good. Well we ordered 6 chicken tacos, one al pastor, and one chicken. The food wasn't too bad. The salsa was like an avocado one which wasn't too spicy but good. Came with onions and cilantro and some limes. My son said he didn't like the chicken and it tasted weird but my husband and I said it was fine. Idk ‍. The only issue we did have was that when we ordered they didn't have barbacoa but it was on the menu. They didn't have any jarritos even if they have so many on their menu. They only had sodas which I wasn't in the mood for. I came around 1 pm on a Sunday. After reading some reviews I noticed this is an issue they have (not having stuff they have on the menu). The person taking out order did look like she didn't want to be there though. Idk maybe she wasn't happy about working today. I've been going to Taco Suave since October 2024 after a suggestion and rave review from some Waxahachie locals. HANDS DOWN, BEST roadside authentic mexican food I've ever had. I make sure to always support this local business every time I'm in town. It's a 20 out of 10 for me! Street tacos best, tried al Pastor, Birria, and carne asada. Well seasoned and grilled onions instead of a white chopped onion. Yum! Not a fan of cilantro so my taste is meat with onion. The cantaloupe agua fresca was refreshing and an unexpected surprise. This is an order and go place but sitting outside eating these 3 tacos fresh and hot was enjoyable. Have you ever had your mind/ stomach focused on something so heavily. Since moving to Texas from San Diego California, I've been struggling significantly with trying to find spots with authentic Mexican food or even anything close to it . I Came across this cute little restaurant. The ambiance is everything, Outdoor seating with bright lights and colorful decor and Writing. I ordered 5 birria tacos and a California Burrito which is supposed to come with your choice of meat , cheese , avocados, pico, sour cream, and the best part FRIES. Unfortunately, that's not what I received. Birria tacos were perfectly fine , but the burrito had beans and rice and non of the California burrito ingredients in it . Everything was nicely plated , only I have a food allergy and couldn't eat one of the ingredients in my burrito. I spoke with the shop owner, and he was extremely sweet, helpful and understanding. His immediate communication and accountability won me completely over . I came back for a remake that end up being wrong again, however I was able to eat what I received. Y'all when I tell y'all that was the best d*** burrito I had since living in Texas (13 years now), I exaggerate none . It was very delicious. Even after the fact the owner still took ownership and tried to resolve the issue. Best customer service interaction I've had in a long time , and I'm in the same industry. I wish this business much success. I Highly recommend... and try the shaved ice spot that sits in the same lot . A year ago, I would've given 5 stars. I have always loved and recommended this place. Before today, the fried tacos were always crispy with plenty of meat and very flavorful. Today, I paid $50 for 10 fried tacos and 10 Birrea tacos. The tortillas seemed almost raw and not cooked, much less fried. No flavor. We usually make tacos at home or go into Dallas; but we had been to HEB and we were starving and craving Street tacos. Taco Suave, as an outdoor taco stand, has relatively new owners in a location that has received wildly mixed Yelp reviews. The menu is as appealing as the mural covered exterior is. We decided to try just the Street tacos today and try to get an idea of what they're offering. They have a terrific special of 10 corn tortilla Street tacos for $15 or 10 fried corn tortilla Street tacos with your choice of two meats. There's 10 Birria tacos for $12 or 4 Vampiro tacos for $10. The red shelled Vampiros have 2 shells with cheese in between. They also have a whole host of other menu items that sound equally good at higher price points with individual tacos at $2.25. It took us a little bit to figure out the system. This outdoor stand has minimal seating and is located on the busy noisy main drag of Hgwy 77. Most patrons are calling in their orders and even though there was hardly anyone there when we placed our order; we watched countless people come and go picking up their orders while we waited almost 40 minutes for ours. They gave us restaurant style buzzers and a number. Some folks get a buzzer and wait in their comfy cars. I had plenty of time to study the amazing colorful murals. The little bistro tables are not a bad place to wait in pleasant weather. The bigger tables out front are shaded in the evening and they started to fill up with people. The young man who waited on us was super friendly and informative. The place was fairly humming with activity; the sounds of chopping and pounding, voices calling out. Our turn came and without looking in the bag, I asked about salsa. He said only green. Probably two. I asked for more and volunteered to pay. He threw two in there at no charge. As it turns out 10 tacos came with one container of creamy green salsa. Now it IS hot; but we downed all three. We are salsa people! Now the tacos were surprisingly good although the barbacoa especially, had very little fresh chopped onion or cilantro. What was so very savory was this delicious red sauce under the meat on both the Carne guisada and barbaco tacos. All 10 came in one box. At $1.50 a piece, they were definitely a bargain. We would like to go back at a less busy time and see if the product is more consistent, the wait less long. The parking lot is dirt and can be busy, not the best to navigate after a rain. Just moved here from California. Texas Mexican food sucks. THIS place knows what they're doing. Their sauce options aren't anything special BUT everything is da bomb! Vampiro's are my fav! The California burrito is nice (would like more fries), but I get it. We're not in California. Anyways. Everything is amazing. If they had better sauce their food would just be even better. But yeah this spot is always busy even if it don't look like it bc people call and order ahead. BIG TIP: call and order ahead of time. I would give this place a higher rating, because the food is delicious, but the wait time was crazy. My wife went there to order 10 tacos and it took an hour for her to get her order. It wasn't anything special we ordered so i didn't understand the wait. Wasn't just us either but a line of people, like i said food is good, hence the line. This place prides itself for having "authentic Mexican food" but has nothing authentic on the menu. Everything is store bought including the tortillas. We went today for breakfast tacos but when we tried to order chorizo or potatoes, they said they were out at the store buying more. Mind you this was at 9am on a Friday!!!!! How do u not already have the ingredients for menu items??? We ended up ordering 2 bacon/egg and 3 ham/egg. We got home to discover that we received 5 ham/egg tacos that were absolutely disgusting! Four stars for the tacos and the up-beat folks preparing great food in extreme heat! Not much seating, this is more like a taco stand, but worth trying for sure! We ordered the birria fried tacos with consommé for dipping, they were really good. I just wanted a large bowl of that consommé to drink down, it was so delicious. They added fresh cilantro and onions on top of everything, which I really appreciate, as it makes everything better! They offer Mexican sodas as well as other drinks, and service was really fast. If I was giving stars for customer service (by the girl answering the phone/taking orders at window) then it would be a 2 star review. She needs help on her customer service skills, although she does seem young. However, she left me on hold for 10 mins! I literally drove there, waited in line, and she still had me on HOLD! We have driven past this taco shack/stand and today we finally ate there! It started with amazing customer service, answering all of our first timer questions! Then I saw they have Keto tacos so I was immediately impressed with their options. My husband got the Tribe burrito and holy smokes the crispy tortilla strips they put in the burrito is everything! We just got hosed on a meal here at Taco Suave we ordered birria tacos and chicken tacos supposed to be fried. Well nothing was fried, soggy street taco size store brought tortillas. The meat were correct, the beef had the sauce for birria tacos and it was chicken but so dried out it sucked. I wasn't in the mood to return the tacos because it took 45 minutes with one order in front of us. We were both so hungry we just ate what we could and threw the rest in the dumpster. The corn in a cup was ok, but really how had is it to screw up elotes. The lime drink agua fresca tasted like cheap generic lime mix with too much sugar in it. I ordered the taco plate no onions and no cilantro with cheese. I was expecting what I ordered and got onions and cilantro and no cheese and the side is bean and rice and they gave me double rice and I had to ask for beans and rice. Then when I asked for the right order they gave me a cup of beans to replace my side. Then they looked at me like I was stupid and was just trying to get free food. I've seen this spot every time I'm on my way to Kika's Chicken Grill. I've been hesitated to stop because I've been going to Kika's for the longest. Today, I arrived to Kika's and the girl literally closed the window on us. She said, "We ran out of food." I thought to myself, well I guess I take my business else where. So we decided to stop here to grab some tacos... The young guy was so attentive & nice because I kept asking him questions bout the menu. I decided to get the Vampiro tacos & the regular tacos. The Vampiro tacos were bussin, bussin... For real! They had cheese in between both tortillas so it was something different for me. Then I got an agua fresa de durazno and it was pretty good. The prices for the elote are a bit pricey & the elote was not all that. I rate the elote a 4 out a 10. I'm an elote lover so these weren't it for me. But besides that... the Vampiro tacos were 10/10. We also got to meet the artist that drew the Monterrey mural & the Solar System. He was painting something new. But anyway, y'all should definitely stop here. It is family owned! read more

me and my wife enjoyed going to this place eating the fried tacos for a couple of years. Now the quality and taste has dropped tremendously. Wait time is 35-40 min to give you a poorly packaged container with soggy tacos and the barbacoa meet taste sooo different now and not in a good way. Not to mention the spike in the prices. I've gone about 4 times now and it's hit or miss depending on who is cooking. The first time was amazing so we went back. Then subsequent visits just got worse. They were out of 2 different meats by late lunch today (barbacoa, carnitas). The elote was great the first time but this recent one just tasted like watery corn and a cup full mayonnaise. I know it's a main ingredient of elote but this one was just so watery it was sad. The rice in our 3 taco platters were overcooked and definitely scraped from the bottom of the pot, the rice was a wet wad which wasn't very appetizing. Sad to say, but you're better off ordering from El Mexicano Grill from downtown Waxahachie than here. P.S. the pricing is just outrageous too on some items. Look back at the previous menu phots and you'll see the price for the 'big tribes burrito' skyrocketed to $11.99... for 1 burrito. No sides, no drinks, just 1 (decent sized) burrito. read more
