As an ex-New Yorker, I'm always searching for great pizza, and this little hidden gem in Ennis, Texas, definitely delivered. We found it on our drive back from Dallas to Houston, just a couple of minutes off I-45, and worth the quick detour. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the pizza had that authentic New York-style feel. We also tried the pasta, which was delicious, and the calamari was decent as well. We didn't order a huge variety, but everything we had was flavorful but kudos on the cheese pizza. This place is been here a long time and it is for a reason because they have the best Italian food around. I know Ennis is small but I have been to Napolis in Corsicana and some places in Waxahachie - Olive Garden has nothing on this place. My husband always gets spaghetti with meat sauce and extra meat sauce my son usually gets chicken fettuccine and I will either get chicken Parmesan or Picatta. All of the food is super delicious cooked to perfection and generous portions. If you get a salad make sure you ask for the house dressing it is incredible how they have taken Italian dressing with a little marinara and oh my goodness it is truly delicious and so very fresh! read more

I've been visiting Bella's since they opened (years and years ago) for both food and drink. There was an incident that occurred between myself and another customer this past weekend, and the situation was handled so poorly by management/owners. I wasn't expecting any special treatment for being such a long time customer but it 100% could have been handled a better way. We stopped here on our way home. We've seen it from the main road many times, but never stopped. I ordered a child's lasagna and a side salad. The child's lasagna was enough for 2 and so was the salad. My hubby got Spaghetti Special. That could have fed 3 ppl. We took leftovers to go. We ate those for lunch the next day. Ok guys this place is amazing! We started with the mushrooms and finished with tiramisu and it was all wonderfully delicious! The mushrooms were in this sauce I could have eaten as a soup it was so flavourful. Then came my tortellini Alfredo and it was wonderful too. It wasn't too rich and the flavor and smell were great! I might have burned my tongue on it . Then there was the tiramisu and I might just have to drive the hour to get back over here for it! If you haven't tried this place you are missing out! First time trying this place out. It has a small club like side and a restaurant side for the day time. We went around 2 pm on a Thursday and it was pretty empty, only one other table beside ours. We ordered the kids spaghetti with meatballs and the chicken parmigiana. The good: tasty meatballs, chicken was well seasoned and the cheese they used was immaculate! The not so great: the spaghetti sauce was watery and the noodles lacked flavor. The restaurant itself was clean but the chairs and booths could use a revamp. Quick and friendly service. We were on our way back to Houston from Fort Worth, so we decided to stop at this small Town - Ennis for dinner. My husband is from NY, so we are so used to eating really hood Italian food... We picked up catering food from Bella Italia for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner. The food was great and I received numerous compliments from the guests. We had lasagna, chicken tetrazzine and shrimp scallopino (which had large shrimp and large scallops that were delicious). Rolls and a really nice salad were provided with our dinner. Back again! Excellent service again! Fridays was very busy and had lots of customers. Our waitress lady was very attentive to our every needs. I ordered the pasta trio.OMG delicious! Piping hot, cheesy and very flavorful. Honey had the chicken cordon bleu. Fantastic! The chicken was very moist, had ham in it, mushrooms-very yum. Had to take all to go because very nice portion sizes. For appetizer we had the stuffed mushrooms. Not what we expected, very small mushrooms but very big on flavor. Too expensive for $8.95 though for maybe 8 small mushrooms. Not much is open on Sunday evenings in Ennis...good thing I was in the mood for Italian. Protip: there are actually two entrances under the sign of Bella Italia - if you look at the awnings above them, they read: "Club" and "Restaurant" respectively. If you don't look at the awnings, you might walk into a rather dark bar/club area and be confused. Also not sure why, but there was a group of smokers outside the restaurant entrance BOTH when I came and when I left...different people too. The restaurant itself is a little on the darkened side, but they play a pleasant loop of Italian music, so the ambiance works. Food was definitely good...had Garlic Bread (not Garlic Knots, but rather a loaf cut in half then sectioned) with marinara dipping suace - this was good but I might have skipped it had I realized that the pasta dish came with two rolls (which weren't garlic but were tasty). Also the pasta trio as recommended elsewhere on Yelp was excellent. The Black Forest cheesecake was a bit too indulgent, but it was a nice end to the meal. Service was excellent. I used to meet my daughter here before covid and we met for the first time again today. I had the Aristocrat chicken with Tomato Basil cream sauce with extra vegetables instead of pasta. I would give it 10 stars for taste alone if I could. It was even better than I remembered! My daughter had Primevara and grandson had the kids pizza. We also got fried mozzarella sticks. Everything was just wonderful. I drive 40 minutes to get there but it is my favorite place.....so worth the drive. Service was fast and waitress friendly. Highly recommend this place. read more

Definitely a good place to go to for Italian food outside of dallas. Took an advice from previous yelp reviewers to order pasta related food items. I decided to order the fettuccine chicken & shrimp. The Alfredo sauce was creamy and delicious. My girlfriend ordered the pasta combo. She loved her entrée as well.
