This seems to be the Black Hole of FedEx operations on the West Coast. Seriously, two packages from two different vendors have disappeared in this hub in the last week. It seems that FedEx is new to the consumer shipping party and is having some serious issues. Their on-time delivery hovers somewhere around the 70 - 75% mark where UPS and USPS are in the upper 80s and lower 90s. My personal experience with Amazon's shipping is near 100% on-time delivery. I'll add my own FedEx Troutdale OR story. Ordered a couple of dishwasher parts which were shipped via FedEx on a Friday from Fresno CA with scheduled delivery to the Seattle area by end of day Sunday. By the end of Sunday, the parts were at the Troutdale facility where they remained with no status updates or a delivery estimate until 2:58 AM Thursday. The next day, status was updated to show that they had sent the item from Troutdale to a FedEx facility in Phoenix with delivery now estimated for end of the day the following Tuesday. Called FedEx and they offered no credible explanation why they would sent my package further away from its destination. I guess I may narrow my suppliers in the future to those who don't ship via FedEx. read more

Wow, I really HATE this company!!! And it's really too bad. Federal Express used to be the BEST shipping company on the planet, IMHO. Their service was on-time and reliable, and their customer service number was easy to find and it was easy to get someone on the phone. Now, I have to spend 30 minutes scrolling through all the customer service options on their site, still didn't get a correct phone number, and I ended up just Googling 'Fed Ex customer service' to get it. Once I got it, I got stuck in an endless loop of automated wrong choices. The menu was incomplete, and when I kept repeating "Customer Service" the system told me it couldn't help me and hung up on me. But, before it did, It had the nerve to mention a survey it wanted me to take at the end of the call, but by then I was too angry and too 'UN-serviced' as a customer to stay on the line to complete it. If the calls are actually "monitored for quality assurance" as indicated, then it looks like the Quality Assurance Department needs to be fired, too. Basically, just shutter the whole company and start fresh with proper management. I called the customer service number back 5 times this morning before I was able to speak to someone. They were also unhelpful. We'd left a note for the Fed Ex guy to leave our package (no sig was required), and three days we have been waiting, with the tracking info still indicating "Out for Delivery'. The CSR rep I spoke to was unable to tell me why the driver wouldn't leave the package AS REQUESTED by US, the customer. When I tried to get further info, the prompts on the Customer Service line just keep telling me that none of the CSR agents will be able to give me any additional, service-related info. It appears their 'Customer Service' phone number is deliberately designed to discourage attempts to receive Customer Service. They don't want you to call because they don't care about your delivery, your time, or, apparently your business. Customers need to stop rewarding VERY bad business behavior and put these inefficient companies with such extremely poor customer service, out of business. Your customer service is your calling card. If your package comes thru this center do not expect to ever see it. Their driver delivered mine to the wrong address. They took no picture. Accepted a signature from someone whose name was clearly nothing like mine. Their customer service department does not even answer calls. FedEx is worthless. I will not only never ever use them myself, but if you are a company selling products online and you ship them FedEx I will not buy from you only to have them send what I paid for to someone else to steal for free and them not care one bit. I have never seen such horrific, uncaring customer service as from this FedEx. They suck!!! I have to agree with the other reviews for the Troutdale FedEx location. My son has been hiking the PCT trail from Mexico to Canada. I have sent him a resupply package about every 10 days since April 11 every other Fedex delivery has been either on time or early. This package has been sitting in Troutdale for over a week with no explanation or expected delivery date. This is totally unacceptable! Each day he has to wait, he is paying for meals and a place to stay. Can't even bounce it forward since we don't know when it might be discovered. If this Fed ex location is as bad as the reviews say, and apparently it is, Fed Ex needs to find out what the problem is and correct it immediately. Literally 8 of 10 packages I've ordered that arrive here will suddenly be delayed...sometimes just lost for good...sometimes sent to another state before delivered to me (I literally live less than 4 miles away). FedEx has ruined their reputation as a reliable shipping service. I pay extra money to have my packages shipped with another carrier whenever I am given the option too. The Troutdale Oregon hub is a shining example of their truly awful delivery commitment times and customer service. Package from San Diego to Bend Oregon has now been in transit for 10 days and FedEx doesn't know where it is. The customer service person I spoke to said there is only 2 people working this entire warehouse due to fires in the area, then it changed to corona virus, then back to fires. According to her, upper management - that you can't speak with - have a firm order to not contact anyone at the Troutdale location by phone or email. I miss spelled Space for my #, they wouldn't delivery my package. Then I called them and they said that cannot change the spelling, the company where my ordered my item only can. I had a prescription for my dog being sent via FedEx. The day that it was due to be delivered I got a message stating that it had been left at my front door. I work from home so immediately went and opened my front door and there was no package. Opened the email and clicked on the proof of delivery link and saw a picture of my package sitting on somebody elses front door. I immediately filed a claim both with FedEx and with chewy.com who is sending a replacement medication to me. After days of a frustrating process of trying to get the medication re-approved by my Vet and explaining why they needed to approve it again and chewy.com being able to send me out the replacement (at no cost to me Chewy was great) I finally received a reply from FedEx investigation saying the case was closed, and the package has been delivered correctly. I called the customer service department to discuss how this decision was made due to the photograph in their delivery message not being my house, and she just kept saying the exact same thing over and over regardless of what I said. That Chewy would need to file a complaint for them to do an investigation, and they would refund Chewy if they found that FedEx had made a mistake. They did not admit their driver made a mistake and took no responsibility for it. Their customer service representatives sound completely bored, and have no desire to help solve anything. They are reading off a script and repeating themselves over and over again. My package has been in Troutdale for 2 weeks, I live 10 miles from there. It's said it's going to be delivered everyday for 10 days!

The merchant I ordered from uses FedEx. It's a garden center, and I ordered live plants. The shipment was sent to Portland, sat for a few days, then tracking showed it went to Troutdale and sat. The last update indicated no scheduled delivery time. I filed a claim with Fedex for a lost shipment, because by then I knew the plants were dead. The FedEx driver showed up 6pm or so on the day I filed the claim. He didn't speak English. I told him I refused shipment. He said okay and asked me to sign his electronic device. He wanted to leave the box, but I told him again I was refusing delivery and take it away. He showed up again the next day, with the box, asking for another signature. When asked why he had come back with the box, he said he didn't know. When I asked what I was signing for, he said "I don't know." I went online to try to update the FedEx claim ticket number. I found a place to indicate that it could be closed, because the merchant refunded me the amount of the purchase as soon as I explained to him how long the shipment took to reach me. Nothing submitted online goes anywhere, apparently. I received an email indicating I would receive a response on the claim in 14 working days. The same driver showed up again today with the box, asking for yet another signature. I asked him what would it take for him to NOT COME BACK, with or without the box. He said sign again, and I did. Tomorrow I'm not opening the door to him. He was obviously not trained properly and is not qualified to do the job properly. I wish I had Tom W.'s persistence to get the local phone number for the Troutdale hub. I can't find it online. So I am writing an actual paper letter to Richard W. Smith, Regional Director of the Americas and EVP at FedEx Corporation, 942 South Shady Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38120. I'm including what I've written here along with copies of all the recent reviews posted here in 2021 for this location. All the reviews-- even the ONE positive review. Meanwhile, I'm contacting the merchant to see if he can ship via USPS if I reorder. I can get it in 4 days via USPS instead of the 10 it took FexEx. I'm not sure if FedEx Troutdale is incompetent or if it is FedEx in general, but somehow they are the only shipping company that is unable to deliver packages to my address. I try to avoid FedEx because of this reason. In the off chance I am unable to avoid them, they never deliver. First, it starts with security delay then after three delivery attempts, and unsuccessful calls to customer service, it goes to incorrect address. I can assure you I have the correct address and my address DOES exist. I have tried putting delivery instructions for my house that is on a residential street, five feet from the road. Let's get it together FedEx. I have had about five other delivery services to this address. Still to this day FedEx has not delivered one package to my address. read more

Either the delivery person has a problem transposing numbers or they're too lazy to deliver the packages up the long driveway of the person the packages are supposed to go to. This particular person has a long fairly steep driveway. The first 2 packages I was kind enough to deliver to the person a few blocks away. I called Fedex to tell them this has become a problem. They are terrible, and they don't care. If I'm purchasing something and I find out the seller uses FedEx I make my purchase somewhere else. If you buy something that is slightly heavy you can count on your package staying on the delivery truck for days. One driver will just leave it for the next driver to deliver. Then that driver leaves it for the next, and so on. I had one FedEx driver say he had tried to deliver a package several times and I needed to pick up the package, but my security cameras showed that he had not even stopped at my house. If I could have this published with no stars, I would have. For the second time with Fed Ex deliveries (out of 4) I have received messages which have been arbitrarily changed. I was to have received my package on Thursday with a morning window. It was changed to Friday with the same morning window because of a smudged shipping label. I took the time off work, I am self employed, so I was losing money to be there to sign for the package as requested. No package, but within 30 minutes of the end of the delivery window I get another message saying, "No attempt made to deliver". "Will deliver on Monday. I am as hot as a firecracker. No regard for people or customers. Folks if you use Fed Ex for your delivery provider you are losing customers. Use UPS, they know how to deliver their packages. read more
