I've moved many many times and I'm so disappointed…read more They first came over to give me a quote and they were really nice, which is why I chose them originally to move me. But the guy did talk very quickly and I felt a bit rushed, but I did not put too much weight into that. Big mistake. This move was considered a long distance move and I was charged hourly. They called at 7:40ish to confirm they were on their way. That's when the guy said, "we love long distance moves.".Hmmmm.... That was a red flag right there. They arrived a little late because they could not locate my unit. Funny... they found it fine for the quote. This is important because of how they ended up charging me. They claim they arrived at 8:15 when they didn't show up on my doorstep until after 8:30am. I did not catch this detail until it was way too late. So they start loading up the truck, telling me we are making good time because of my exceptional packing. That we should finish "on time". They mentioned that most people aren't as well packed as me. They did not even need to bring extra material because I was so well organized. Then the one guy took forever on dismantling my bed. He got stuck with removing the nuts and bolts, saying they were stripped. That's when the other guy asked me if the other movers had put the bed together, I said "yes" and that's when he said, "well this will slow us down" this is why we quotes are not binding." Again.. another red flag. BUT it turns out that all that was wrong was there was a screw that needed to be loosened from behind the bolt. But no, they tried to blame my former mover for a problem that didn't even exist to get more money out of me. Then they asked what furniture I wanted covered. What???? Aren't they supposed to do that anyway? Then they notified me they were not enough blankets. But if I wanted, I could get more, it would just mean going back to their shop which meant more time on the clock. Meaning it would cost me more money! Are you kidding me? What happened to the guy who came over to give me the quote? He listed all of my furniture on the quote so why would they not bring enough blankets and items to protect my furniture? That too smelled scammy! Then we get to my new place and they start saying the distance from truck to unit was 3 times the distance of my last unit. It wasn't. It was a longer walk, but not by three times. I was told they would place each box in the appropriate rooms if the boxes were marked. Most boxes were placed just anywhere and not in their designated locations. Then they started rushing me, telling me they are going over time due to the traffic they encountered on the way up. Even though they were checking their social media constantly or on the phone talking to their partners. So I'm helping them unload the truck. I actually take a fall and all they asked is if fell from the truck. I ended up really hurt. At the end, they tried to bill me for more than $500 over the quoted amount to move a 1 bdrm apartment. I originally did not catch the start time they annotated when I was arguing on the phone over the ridiculous increase in price. I ended up paying $300 more than quoted when they arrived late, blamed everything else but themselves for slow times even though they finished BEFORE the quoted end time. Yup, they finished before the end time yet they were trying to bill me for overtime. They also didn't bring enough supplies but were willing to bring more if I paid more. Horrible horrible experience! I do not recommend!

Based on the incessant and unsolicited text messaging, I will not use this company for anything…read more Since putting our home up for sale, every single person in our household has started receiving marketing texts. The company may have a solid privacy policy for people who voluntarily choose to communicate with them, but apparently that consideration doesn't extend to people whose information they obtain through other means. Whoever decided that mass-texting an entire household was a good marketing strategy seems to have a very short-sighted view of sales. Instead of generating a lead, it guaranteed that we will never do business with the company.

We doubted all our furniture and household goods would fit into the one POD, so we had another smaller POD reserved. Because the guys from Pack My Truck were experienced and creative they got EVERYTHING into the one POD. This saved us $1,200.00 not having to have a second POD. These guys are great. Five stars for the entire team at Cal's Moving & Storage!…read more From my very first contact with Cal's, I could tell they were different from the large national moving companies. James came to my home, carefully assessed everything that needed to be moved, and provided an estimate based on my actual belongings and the fact that they were being moved from a three-story home. The estimate was accurate, transparent, and never changed at any point during the process. The team was flexible and accommodating with my moving dates, making what could have been a stressful experience much easier. I also really appreciated their "one household per truck" approach. Instead of waiting a week and a half - or even longer - for my belongings to arrive, my delivery took only as long as it took to drive from Oregon to Arizona. The moving crew was outstanding - diligent, conscientious, courteous, and genuinely pleasant to work with from start to finish. I especially want to recognize Justin, who truly went above and beyond. He stayed in contact to keep me apprised of the status of the trek. After driving from Oregon to Arizona, he unloaded the truck in the intense Arizona heat, working tirelessly without additional assistance. Throughout the entire process, he remained positive, professional, and incredibly helpful. He carefully reassembled furniture that had been taken apart for transport, placed every piece of furniture exactly where I wanted it, and made sure every box ended up in its intended room. When I asked for advice on furniture placement, he was even happy to offer thoughtful suggestions. Moving across states is never easy, but Cal's Moving & Storage made the experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. Justin's exceptional work ethic and customer service were the icing on the cake. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cal's Moving & Storage to anyone looking for a reliable, honest, and professional moving company.

We were moving cross town in West Linn, no more than 2 miles away. I had someone come out and look…read moreat our house 4 weeks ahead of time to review all the furniture we needed to move. They said this was between a 3-4 hour job which should cost $1300-1400. Sounded great to me. We also talked about start time - I said we needed to be out first thing in the morning because we had to be out of the house by 3pm on that day, and he said we were the first job on the docket and that I'd get a message from the team that morning, but that estimated arrival time was between 8:30am-9am that day. On the day of the move, I called at around 8:45am to say that I hadn't received a message confirming start time, and Evan in customer support told me I should get a call soon. That call came at 9:05am, at which point I was told that they'd be over around 10:30am, maybe as late as 11am. They eventually showed up at 11:20am. I asked Evan and others from the team if there's anything they could do to help me given that I had been promised an earlier team. The only response I got from the two people I talked to and from the team was that it was a busy day, and they had no one available, and despite the deadline I'd previously told them about, I'd have to wait. Once the team arrived, they took over four hours to move the furniture OUT of my first home. I'd originally been told they should probably do the entire thing in 3-4 hours, but over four hours before they'd be able to even get everything on the truck. I suspect this is because of the three movers sent, only two did anything. A third mover, Miguel, moved some chairs, and not much else. While moving my dining room table, he dropped it and damaged the corner, and after that, didn't spend much time doing anything other than moving cushions and then standing around and folding furniture pads. The other two guys moved pretty much everything, but I was charged for three movers the full day through. While moving out of the house, I had a bookshelf damaged, the dining room table corner was dropped (an extremely expensive table gifted by my parents), and significant damage was caused bringing a sleeper sofa downstairs. I have pictures of all of these that I can share, and will need to know your policy for dealing with damage caused to the home as we were moving out, as the new owners of the home are seeking to charge me in order to repair the damage. The movers showed up at my house at 4:15pm to begin unloading the truck. In doing so, they ran over a mailbox station, destroying three mailboxes in the process, and meaning that my first introduction to those three neighbors was apologizing for my movers running over their mailboxes, which was lovely. Once they were here, I spent the entire time helping them move because I knew I was being charged by the hour. While Miguel sat and folded furniture pads, I helped move couches, tables, and fridges. Significant damage was once again made to a door jamb when moving the couch into the room, despite the fact that I had shown them how to bring the couch in and ensure that it didn't scratch the doorway. There was minor damage done to the stairwell too, though with it being minor, I understand that some things like this happen. The damage to the door jamb was significant, and to a brand new, freshly built house. In the end, I was charged for 7 hours and 30 minutes of work from this team. The email that was sent to me at the end of this has a timestamp of 6:38pm, which was 7 hours and 18 minutes after the team arrived. This means I was charged for extra time, and charged for the 45 minute lunch that the team took as well. I went through Cal's to try to get this remedied. They sent a handyman to fix the damage to my home and the mailboxes. Mailboxes look good, the damage to the home is still noticeable but better. Never heard anything on damaged furniture, including radio silence after leaving a voicemail and another email, and never got any response about the mover who I was charged for who didn't help much.

Gina from their office was super helpful in getting a scheduled date and time that worked for us. On the day of delivery and set up, James and Mike gave me a courtesy phone call saying they were available to deliver the bed earlier if we would like. Sure! Come on over!. James and Mike pulled up to our house in a very large and clean box truck. After getting the ok to back in to our driveway, they got to work right away. I noticed that the interior of the box truck that housed my bed was also very clean and organized alongside other large items to be delivered to other homes. James and Mike carried the heavy power bed platform frame and cumbersome mattress through my house with the greatest of care and even with a narrow hall and staircase, they did not at any time touch or scuff the walls. They set the bed up perfectly and we could not be happier with them. I called the company and asked to speak to the manager and passed on the great service we received and will also pass it on to Costco as well.

Two moves, and I'm going to be very generous with 2 stars…read more The first move took much, much longer than it should have with three guys, and they unfortunately didn't realize I grew up speaking Spanish (I'm mixed but white presenting) and said some highly unfavorable things for professionals. While the guy who did my paperwork seemed nice, it was way over the top like he was trying to ingratiate himself with me for a better tip. The questions he was asking me were personal and invasive and just left me feeling uncomfortable and wanting to get away from him. Unfortunately this is the reality of being a woman, often, is men mistake your kindness for familiarity when he should have just stuck to being a professional doing his job. This second, and LAST move I will ever hire Bridgetown for, I booked a move with three guys and the same size truck as my previous move. I specifically wanted a company who knew how much stuff I had (we ran out of room, the first time, and I had to leave several items behind). The issues started at booking, when my estimate arrived with my deposit, and the quote read $0...I checked in with Devon and she said my move was still booked, the quote was just a system error (but didn't fix the issue of an hourly rate for 3 guys...but ok...), the confirmation text I received a a few days before my move caused me minor panic because she listed the wrong date...OOPS her bad, but it's fine, all is well, ok... But, the day comes, and TWO men show up with a much smaller than expected truck. I ask about the 3rd guy? Oh well yea his work order says it's supposed to be 3, the paperwork he hands me says 3...I call Devon and yep oops "Dispatch" (aka one of the owners apparently?) "made a mistake and sent the wrong crew due to a paperwork mixup." Folks, when I tell you this would have been an absolutely nightmarish scenario that would have cost me my last shred of sanity due to all the BS I've been dealing with, it can't be underestimated how p'd off I was. Luckily for me, I have terrible anxiety and bc my last move took so many hours, I haven't been able to sit still and had taken *sixteen* carloads of moving bags over myself before the movers ever arrived. I wanted this move to go so much smoother than the last, and I had two afternoon appointments for various maintenace and install issues with my new house that day of the move. I booked three men and huge truck specifically to make the move fast and easy. If I had not absolutely destroyed my body (thank you, anxiety, for apparently seeing the future and that something would in fact massively go wrong) taking allllll that stuff myself over two weeks after I got my keys on the 1st, there is ZERO shot everything would have fit on the truck, not even half my stuff would have fit. And as a reminder, I specifically booked Bridgetown because they had an inventory from my previous move. I was in the end charged the minimum rate, to "apologize" for the "mixup," but having to explain to Devon and to the two man crew why this was all so frustrating and upsetting is insane to me. I booked 3 guys, giant truck, with BM specifically who had my inventory because I knew how much stuff I had to move. They caused me at least 10 more gray hairs that day. I will never, ever, be using your services again.
