I called Sam on a Monday afternoon for a Wednesday move from a 10x15 storage unit into a small one-bedroom apartment, which he was able to accommodate. I booked two guys at a rate comparable to the other companies I called, with no deposit required. Sam called to confirm the evening before, and gave me an arrival window between 1-3pm (we had discussed this at the time of booking and I was happy to be flexible with the timing). The crew called me before noon on Wednesday to discuss the best time to meet and we agreed on 12:45pm. I asked for a 15 min warning before their arrival, which they obliged. I was surprised to see three guys on the crew, but was told the third was in training and I wouldn't be charged for the extra help (I was not). All three of the guys - Jose, Garcia, and Josh - were so nice and so patient with me as I decided what was coming to the apartment and what had to stay in storage. In the middle of loading, I asked Jose if they could help me move the items I was leaving in storage into a smaller unit, and he readily agreed. No one on the team was smoking (a big deal for me and rare with movers in my experience, of which I have A LOT!!!), no one was being idle (yes, I've seen movers standing and sitting around during previous small moves), no one grumbled (yes, I've had movers complain about the moving before), and all three were extremely careful with my things (including my piano), and with the walls and floors of my new place. They were all so friendly and easy to talk to and work with. I could not be more pleased. They managed the entire move in excellent time, and I was able to pay with my credit card with no additional fees. I have moved far too many times to count, and overall I've had pretty good experiences, and still this was one of the best. If/when I move again, they will be the first people I call. Thank you to Bold Move and to Jose, Garcia, and Josh!!! read more

I've used Bold Move two times now and both experiences were great! Very efficient and their crews all work well together. They went above and beyond to make sure my items were properly stored in storage and then they delivered them to my new place when I was ready. Communication was easy and with good turn around times for answering any questions I had. Definitely recommend them! read more

Excellent experience! I recently used Bold Move and couldn't be happier with how everything went. Sam helped coordinate the entire process and was incredibly helpful from the start--honest, transparent, responsive, and easy to work with. On moving day, James and his teammate handled my furniture and items (which were shipped on a trailer from out of state) with great care. They were thoughtful, efficient, and went above and beyond by reassembling furniture that had been taken apart by my previous movers. What really stood out was their kindness and professionalism--they made what could have been a stressful move feel smooth and manageable, and truly supported me during my transition into a new home. I highly recommend Bold Moves. Thank you again for everything! read more

Always a great experience with Bold Move. Just completed our fourth move (two residential, two commercial) - the team takes great care to keep anything from being damaged. Professional, fast, safe... there's no other moving company I consider in the Portland Metro area. read more

Oh my goodness, if you're in the market for movers, look no further! The crew from Bold Move is incredibly efficient, kind, and just generally lovely people. They moved our items with care and made everything so easy. I'm moving our stuff before my husband joins me and I was very nervous about orchestrating this move by myself. The guys at Bold Move made me feel completely at ease with absolutely everything. Thank y'all so much! I will definitely be hiring again! read more

everyone was super friendly but some of my items were broken and I didn't get my money back for those items which was disconcerting especially given all the money I spent on the move. read more

Bold Move accommodated us for a Sunday move just a week in advance. Sam the scheduler was clear and helpful about options, and the movers themselves (Jose and Garcia) were fast and careful. They were cautious with all our items, including my grandmother's delicate MCM furniture! They also pursued multiple options to get our massive sleeper sofa into our tiny new home instead of giving up or settling on what would have been easier for them. They were also billed us for slightly less time which was a great value for us. We'd absolutely hire them again and we recommend them highly! read more

I highly recommend Bold Move. Everybody was so nice and caring. They were quite meticulous with wrapping and moving my possessions. I really appreciated the team's good communication and problem solving. They also made sure I was happy with the placement of everything and I really appreciated that they made sure the neighbors were ok with their truck location. Would definitely go with them for my next move. read more

I have personally used Sam and team twice! Both times they did an excellent job with complicated moves (large, awkward cable weight stack and a big treadmill). Most other moving companies I contacted said "no" to moving these items but Sam and team made it happen! For the first move, they helped us pack up and wrap everything. Nothing was broken and this was even after 6 month of storage in PODS. Can't recommend Bold Move enough!! read more

Very prompt response from Samuel with a very detailed explanation of the estimate. They arrived on time to my home and loaded up quickly and efficiently. When they unloaded at our new home, everything was reassembled and set out how we asked. The moving crew was professional and friendly and did a wonderful job. I would definitely use them again. read more

BOLD MOVE PDX did an excellent job with my move. The crew was friendly, professional, and very efficient. They handled my items carefully and made a stressful moving day feel much more manageable. The owner was also very helpful, and you can tell this company really cares about its customers. I'm very happy with the service and would absolutely recommend them. read more

This is the best moving company I have ever used. They were very responsive and excellent communicators all the way through the process. Bryant, Jimmy, and José were on time, friendly, efficient, and funny. Moving is so hard, and having pleasant people help you out is pretty amazing. The pricing is more than reasonable, and they don't charge for travel time. Highly recommended. read more

I thought for sure a company with 5 full stars would have at least returned my call when I called to inquire about availability and left a message. Not. A. Word. I thought that was worth mentioning. I called them first and would have been happy to hire them, if I could have gotten hold of them. I hope their moving skills are better than their communication. read more

Sam was great at scheduling the move and promptly available for any questions. He explained services provided, and the four guys who moved all our belongings were timely, professional, communicative, friendly, helpful, and careful. Bold Move and the crew made the move seem easier than expected, especially considering that everything had to go up three flights and it was raining off and on. Great value for a household move. Would recommend to anyone who has valuable belongings and wants professional help moving from one location to another. read more

Great experience with BOLD MOVE from start to finish. From the moment they arrived, it was all business. Efficient, helpful, happy and very respectful. I think you could say they have developed moving as an art. Well done Bold Move, thank you for taking such good care of us. Thank you Sam and Reno and crew, well done. read more

I would totally recommend Bold Move to others! Sam is super experienced and professional. His crew does fantastic job on moving for us. We have a 1-bedroom apartment with a few piece of furnitures that are kind of heavy. His crew arrives on time, packing everything quickly with great protections. More importantly, my move-out apartment requires the dock door closed while no one is watching, his crew is very experienced with taking cares of those kind of things. His crew absolutely cares about the things they are moving and takes great care of them. read more

It's my second major move with the amazing team at Bold Move and I can't urge you enough, pick these guys! I cannot say enough good things about Bold Move!!! I previously had a horrible experience using a moving company where they broke a piece of my furniture in half (bookcase), damaged many more, and held my items ransom at delivery demanding I pay more money than we had contractually agreed upon to have my belongings released and unloaded. It left me terrified to ever work with movers again. What a night and day difference my experience with Bold Move has been! Sam is no nonsense and gives you all the information upfront. He also very kindly threw in a mattress protector and a TV box. Plus they provide you with wardrobe boxes free of charge. The day of the move they showed up on time and moved quickly but carefully. They were friendly and professional and got the job done! I got to chatting with one of the movers while they worked and he was telling me he's moving cross country and is so sad to be leaving this job; that Sam is one of the best employers he's ever had. I think that speaks more highly to the company than anything else. How you treat your employees is even more important than how you treat your customers in my opinion. After the move I found one item had a bit of damage and Sam jumped into action to find a fix, offering to have a repairman come out to take care of it on his dime. I will 1000% be using Bold Move for any future moves. Their pricing is fair, they're genuinely good people, and they make moving as low stress as possible. Thank you so much, Bold Move! Ya'll are the real MVPs. read more

Bold Move were amazing to work with! I really cannot emphasize how timely they were with their arrival, how quick and careful they were with my things, and how top tier the communication was. Tabor and his team were great to work with and were helpful even if we didn't have a box for a given item. Even during set up, the office was very upfront with pricing and what to expect. You should absolutely book with them for your next move! read more

4th time using Bold Move. This time for an office move. As usual...quick quote & they showed up on time and ready to go. We had 5 guys in our moving crew and they were all professional, careful with our items and quick. The very heavy safe we had them move was no joke and they handled it like champs! Thanks Sam for once again coming through with a win!!! read more

I'm so glad my realtor recommended Sam Luby and his amazing team at Bold Move. Sam did a great job of explaining the process and the full service move his company provides. After listening to my needs, he recommended a crew of three for our move from our one bedroom apartment to our new house and to unpack our large POD from our old house which had been in storage. On the day of the move Alex and crew showed up on time, were great at handling our stuff with care, and really efficient. On top of that they were really friendly and a pleasure to work with. They got the entire job done in under 5 hours. Overall their prices were fair and I'd strongly recommend Bold Move to anyone looking for a moving company in the area. read more

The guys did a great job on my parents' move (which I oversaw.) Respectful, careful, quick, and efficient--we'd definitely hire them again!

Sam, our Move Coordinator, was great about sending a proposal and answering any questions we had. I had booked this company for my brother and sister-in-law, so there were some complexities with who was booking to who was the point of contact for the actual move. They called my brother on the day before the move and requested adding an additional mover to try to get the work done early and avoid the heat of the day. Ended up with 5 movers and 1 truck. In total, it took them ~5 hours to complete, which was amazing since they had lived in the same apartment for 18 years. This was my SIL's feedback on the actual move itself: "What an awesome team of pros! We moved out of a 3rd floor apartment with no elevator, on the hottest day of the year, and they handled it so well. The movers were friendly and focused, (and STRONG omg!) and they took great care of our stuff on both ends of the move. I highly recommend this moving team!" read more

I was recommended Bold Move by a friend who had a last minute move on Christmas Eve. They came no problem and moved the whole place. That was enough reason for me to use them! I had a treadmill in my basement that was impossible for me to move up 8 steps. After disassembling it, thinking I could move it, and then realizing I was going to kill my back, I decided to call around. Bold Move is veteran owned, and they had great reviews! So I gave them a shot. The owner Sam, was so great. He was to the point, gave me a great quote that felt fair, especially considering that it was a very small bid for them. They gave me an appt the same week and it was seamless.. They arrived, were friendly, and fun, quick, and seeming like they had a blast together. And they made the job look so easy. Although I still worry about their backs long term. So grateful to have found this company. Thank you to Scott, Monty, and Sky... you were really great to work with. So far the best experience I've had with a moving company. I will hire Bold Move again!! read more

Ooh, this was my second time using Bold and I just realized I never left a review the first time - totally unintentional as they were fantastic BOTH times. The first time they moved me from Gresham to Troutdale, not far, but they were quick and did a great job. I had a crew of 3, all of which were personable and professional. Again, I apologize for not getting the review in then and now I don't recall their names. When I needed to move again, 2 years later, of course I scheduled them right away. This time I had a different crew; Jared, Garcia and Tabor - and again they were personable and professional. Not only did they work quickly, but they were flexible when we arrived at the new place to find the reserved spots on the street (which I paid the City $200 for) had vehicles still parked in them. Luckily a loading zone area was open across the street and the 3 worked very quickly and were able to get unloaded within the time limit allowed for the zone. Both times my items were treated carefully, with my bookcases and hutch being wrapped with pads to keep them from getting scratched. The few boxes of fragile items were kept safe and intact during transport. I recommend them, wholeheartedly, and while I would suggest they add sorting out street permits with the city and adding to the bill (maybe in the form of a deposit), I would 100% utilize their services the next time I need to move (though I am hoping that I won't need to for a few years). read more

We hired Bold Move through the Yelp app because of the reviews and ratings and because it's a U.S. Veteran owned business. Samuel Luby was our contact for communicating and scheduling our move. Communications were clear. Notifications regarding exact time of arrival within our prearranged arrival window were very helpful. The crew arrived on time, prepared and ready to get to work. They took care of our belongings, and were careful moving heavy items. At the pick up and drop off locations everything went smoothly with no mishaps. I'd use this company again and I recommend Bold Move without reservation. read more

I am so impressed with this company and crew. Sam started off with great prices and great service. He was incredibly helpful and didn't hound me like every other company. I most appreciated things he suggested that could help my move go smoothly and save me money by being prepared. I highly recommend BOLD MOVE if you are planning on moving. I had been keeping an eye on moving services that were being used in our apartment complex to see which one I would choose. BOLD MOVE was an easy choice. The movers seemed to enjoy their job and were really efficient. I followed them to the apartment they were servicing and talked to the current owner. She said she loved them and would highly recommend using them. They were awesome. They were efficient and asked me where I wanted various items to go. They were quick but thoughtful - even moved heavy items smoothly. Use them! Kat read more

Bold Move deserve ALL the stars. We had a last minute small move in a tough situation -- and Sam was willing to ask his crew if anyone would help us out on a Sunday (everyone's day off). The amazing crew were on time, ready to make sure everything went perfectly with wardrobe boxes, packing blankets, and lots of tape (at no extra charge)... and they made super short work of the move, despite 4 flights of stairs total. The crew were focused, careful, and kind. The pricing was transparent and more than fair. And - Alex (crew lead) offered to drop an old recliner off at Goodwill on his way home, for free! I am so grateful for Bold Move. Next time, I won't bother getting quotes -- I'll just call Sam. read more

Sam and his crew are amazing! I called a few places and before I could really explain my needs they cut me off and said they were booked for 2 weeks in advance. But when I called Sam, he immediately listened to my needs and said, "We will be there!" He said it with such confidence and quickness I had to make sure he heard me. Lol. He called the day before to confirm, his people texted when they were otw, they wore masks and booties and were super professional. The best part is Sam quotes you the affordable rate upfront, has insurance and doesn't hide anything in the fine print. As you can tell, the service I received was TOP NOTCH! Thank you Sam for being a hard worker and giving amazing service at an awesome price! read more

Happy to have hired BOLD MOVE. They were polite, communicative, chill, and efficient moving me from one home to another. Thank you!

We had to do a quick move when the owners of the house we were renting wanted to sell. I've always moved on my own so this was the first time using movers. I'm never going back. We probably undersold the amount we had to move and didn't make quite as much progress packing up our basement as we would have liked prior to movers coming on a Saturday. Nonetheless - they assessed the situation and got right to work. Everyone was cheerful, communicative, and careful with our stuff. They worked HARD. I'm not sure they took a break the entire day outside of a quick pizza lunch (we asked them if they wanted pizza and grabbed a few pies which they appreciated). I would definitely work with Bold move again. Reasonable pricing to boot! read more
