Bold Move accommodated us for a Sunday move just a week in advance. Sam the scheduler was clear and helpful about options, and the movers themselves (Jose and Garcia) were fast and careful. They were cautious with all our items, including my grandmother's delicate MCM furniture! They also pursued multiple options to get our massive sleeper sofa into our tiny new home instead of giving up or settling on what would have been easier for them. I previously had a horrible experience using a moving company where they broke a piece of my furniture in half (bookcase), damaged many more, and held my items ransom at delivery demanding I pay more money than we had contractually agreed upon to have my belongings released and unloaded. It left me terrified to ever work with movers again. What a night and day difference my experience with Bold Move has been! Sam is no nonsense and gives you all the information upfront. He also very kindly threw in a mattress protector and a TV box. Plus they provide you with wardrobe boxes free of charge. The day of the move they showed up on time and moved quickly but carefully. They were friendly and professional and got the job done! I got to chatting with one of the movers while they worked and he was telling me he's moving cross country and is so sad to be leaving this job; that Sam is one of the best employers he's ever had. I think that speaks more highly to the company than anything else. How you treat your employees is even more important than how you treat your customers in my opinion. After the move I found one item had a bit of damage and Sam jumped into action to find a fix, offering to have a repairman come out to take care of it on his dime. Sam, our Move Coordinator, was great about sending a proposal and answering any questions we had. I had booked this company for my brother and sister-in-law, so there were some complexities with who was booking to who was the point of contact for the actual move. They called my brother on the day before the move and requested adding an additional mover to try to get the work done early and avoid the heat of the day. Ended up with 5 movers and 1 truck. In total, it took them ~5 hours to complete, which was amazing since they had lived in the same apartment for 18 years. We moved out of a 3rd floor apartment with no elevator, on the hottest day of the year, and they handled it so well. Ooh, this was my second time using Bold and I just realized I never left a review the first time - totally unintentional as they were fantastic BOTH times. The first time they moved me from Gresham to Troutdale, not far, but they were quick and did a great job. I had a crew of 3, all of which were personable and professional. Again, I apologize for not getting the review in then and now I don't recall their names. When I needed to move again, 2 years later, of course I scheduled them right away. This time I had a different crew; Jared, Garcia and Tabor - and again they were personable and professional. Not only did they work quickly, but they were flexible when we arrived at the new place to find the reserved spots on the street (which I paid the City $200 for) had vehicles still parked in them. Luckily a loading zone area was open across the street and the 3 worked very quickly and were able to get unloaded within the time limit allowed for the zone. Both times my items were treated carefully, with my bookcases and hutch being wrapped with pads to keep them from getting scratched. The few boxes of fragile items were kept safe and intact during transport. I recommend them, wholeheartedly, and while I would suggest they add sorting out street permits with the city and adding to the bill (maybe in the form of a deposit), I would 100% utilize their services the next time I need to move (though I am hoping that I won't need to for a few years). read more

After disassembling it, thinking I could move it, and then realizing I was going to kill my back, I decided to call around. Bold Move is veteran owned, and they had great reviews! So I gave them a shot. The owner Sam, was so great. He was to the point, gave me a great quote that felt fair, especially considering that it was a very small bid for them. We had to do a quick move when the owners of the house we were renting wanted to sell. I've always moved on my own so this was the first time using movers. I'm never going back. We probably undersold the amount we had to move and didn't make quite as much progress packing up our basement as we would have liked prior to movers coming on a Saturday.
