Through persistent efforts I was able to get from the web a local phone number for the Fedex hub at Troutdale, OR serving the Portland metro area. My attitude admittedly was not positive. My package (camera from NY) had been sitting in Troutdale since the early morning hours of Monday and it is now Friday. From using the Fedex tracking system, I had gone from scheduled delivery on Tuesday, to scheduled delivery on Wednesday to "no scheduled delivery" by Wednesday evening through Thursday. Fedex's tracking system is very frustrating too work with and obscures accurate information and contact methods. So you get the point I was not a happy camper when after a short wait I was able to get through to the Fedex hub manager in Troutdale. What I found was a stressed by very courteous and professional response by the manager as we worked through our conversation. He and his crew had just endured the most difficult week in his 15 year tenure at Troutdale. I am located in Mosier near Hood River in the Gorge. We had lot of snow but not ice. The manager patiently explained to me that he had trailers frozen by ice that took 3 days and $200,000 to get freed up. He had employees stranded there for 72 hours. The ice storm had been horrific at the west end of the Gorge. Traffic was moving fine on I84 but that did not help Fedex in Troutdale. After explaining the the background, Josh, the supervisor's name gave me a firm estimate when they would get to the trailer my camera is located in and arranged for me to pick it up at the sub station in The Dalles so I wouldn't have to depend on local delivery, tomorrow, Saturday. Some things to note. Josh is faced by similar frustrations as customers with Fedex web services. They give him no method of putting out real information of what it's like on location. Second, and most importantly, Josh could have passed me off to another employee. Instead he responded with respect, courtesy and a professional response to address my concern. I have every confidence that he provides good leadership to his crew and inspires good work effort on their part. I salute Josh and now empathize with the conditions he and his crew work under. Thanks for reading. read more

If you have something coming and it lands here... Be afraid... Be very afraid.... Be very very afraid. It aint coming. I have had EVERY FedEx package that EVER landed here result in a refund from the seller due to never delivered. They ALL said they left the facility and were in transit. Must be a black hole just outside of town. Because it sucks the packages into "Bills" house for listing on eBay. read more

This FedEx hub has been our primary carrier location since i've lived in Vancouver. We haven't had any issues with our packages until recently. I recently made an online purchase with Costco that included nuts, chips, cookies and liquid fabric softener. We were notified by Costco that FedEx had damaged the box during transit and they issued me a refund. I was never informed by FedEx of a delay or damaged product. I was quite surprised because it seems like their notifications are updated and sent regularly when you have a package and transit. After Costco issued me a refund, I decided to reorder the exact same products. This time the delivery date kept getting pushed out a day until finally the package was delivered three days after the initial delivery date. I could see that the box was not a normal Costco box, but just a plain brown shipping box with a new label attached. When I opened the box I noticed that my Sun Chips variety pack wasn't in its original packaging and they were all just loosely put in the box with the nuts and cookies I ordered, but no liquid fabric softener. No note or email notification of the missing product. Costco wasn't even notified by fedex about any shipping or delivery changes. I thought it was quite odd. I called Costco and told them what happened. They immediately issued me a refund and re-shipped the liquid fabric softener. I called FedEx to let them know what happened to find out where my liquid fabric softener was and why the chips weren't in the original box, but they were no help at all. After going through their automated service to try and talk to a live person, which was extremely frustrating, they didn't have any information for me. All they told me to do was contact the shipper. I'm not sure what's happening at this FedEx hub, but they need to get someone in there to train employees on not only deliveries, but customer service as well. It's been an extremely disappointing couple of weeks. Way too much time out of my busy day has been contacting both FedEx and Costco to get my shipment issues resolved. FedEx needs to do better! read more

3rd time still shitty. Yet another delivery skipped with no door tag and nothing on the camera to suggest delivery was even considered, let alone attempted. Carrier pigeons are more reliable. read more

FEDEX SUCKS!!! They used to be better than UPS, but no more. I have been waiting for two days for a wine delivery & when they got here they wanted to scan my drivers license. I SAID NO! Security experts advise against having your drivers license scanned. Delivery driver was very sweet, but his lead riding with him was very snarky. Unacceptable customer service. Got argumentative with me about they have always done that. No they have not. When I was with the wine club I would never get my license scanned. I would just sign their iPad. FedEx is always changing delivery dates & sometimes I get notified about changes & sometimes I don't. I don't mind if it's clothing, but when it's food or wine I have a real issue with that. I'm done with FedEx. I will be doing business with UPS or USPS before doing business with FedEx. read more

A package routed through Troutdale has suddenly come up....missing? It was reported at that location on August 22nd, with an expected delivery (to Olympia) date of 8/23, then 8/24, and again 8/25. Now, there is no delivery date, just a yellow exclamation mark and no explanation for the delay. And this is SOP for FedEx. Their service has degraded substantially over the last several years to the point that I cringe whenever a merchant uses them. USPS is more reliable. read more

This location CONSTANTLY says "recipient unavailable" and yet no FedEx truck or person ever attempted to deliver anything. We have cameras at the driveway and at the front door so we know if a delivery was attempted. I refuse to use FedEx for anything at work or at home as a result of the unbelievably bad service oou of the Troutdale location. Hopefully FedEx wakes up and does something about this location. read more

I dread when a package lands in the Troutdale facility. Packages are always delayed, shipment updates stop, and weird errors or delay reasoning is listed. This happens regardless of where the package is sent from. UPS is significantly more reliable than FedEx in my location because of the Troutdale black hole. read more

I'd give it a zero star if I could. Had someone waiting ALL DAY!! to sign an indirect signature for a package today along with a note on the front door stating " I am home" and also online instructions letting them know someone is home to will sign for it but the driver just stuck a door tag and left without knocking or anything. Their automated system doesn't help at all. No information as to which facility my package is at bedsides saying it's at their facility only. read more

Every time a package ends up going through troutdale, it sits there for literally weeks. WEEKS. Just close that place down already

Troutdale is the Siberia of the FedEx world. Packages and people are sent here to die. The top five-star rating for this FedEx location shares a touching sorry from a 2021 storm with a sympathetic and overworked Troutdale manager taking the time to explain why life is tough. Well, this is Christmas, 2025, and they're still suffering the same problems of that 2021 storm. How does a once world-class company keep delivering such incompetent service? read more

$1000 shipment that required a signature. Waited all day for "Devin" the driver. Ah...Troutdale. The mere mention of the name strikes fear in the heart of anyone waiting for a package. It is the Bermuda Triangle of shipping, a place where all hope is lost. It is here where packages go to die, never seeing the light of day again. It is a running joke with our family and friends. If your package arrives here, notify the shipper that it will never be delivered. Why does anybody even use FedEx anymore? Once a giant in the shipping industry, it has become the butt of jokes worldwide. I have shipped many packages over the last three decades and now cringe at the mention of their name. Every muscle tightens, and anxiety rises, realizing that I have lost another one. As you can see from the screenshot, my July 21 delivery will not occur, as today is the 25th, and there is no longer a projected delivery date. Oh, Captain, my Captain! EVERY SINGLE PACKAGE I have ever had delivered that has gone though this hub has been delayed by several days. Never has happened with any other company anywhere else except this one. They make up excuses as to why a package cant be delivered. My last one said due to weather conditions...its been sunny for 2 weeks...another time they couldnt scan the barcode, but the original barcode was fine when it arrived. especially when I have large items scheduled to be delivered on my day off they show up 3-4 days later or not at all. Terrible service, honestly don't want to buy stuff online anymore. Rob you of your money for a shipment they can't even get there on time. Support has no answer except this package claims it left Troutdale a week ago, doesn't say that for me, but alas no package still. I had two packages left outside my side gate on a garbage can, and they were stolen. This is a dead-end street, and I do not live there. A package I ordered was shipped via FedEx Ground Economy from Chandler, AZ on February 12, 2025. The final destination is Anchorage, AK. Per the tracking, it traveled from Chandler to Phoenix, AZ, to Mendota, CA, to Eugene, OR, to Breinigsville, PA, to Northampton, PA, to Perrysburg, OH, to Atlantic, IA, to Laramie, WY, to Boise, ID, to Troutdale, OR. After traveling from the west coast to the east coast and back to the west coast, it has been sitting at the facility in Troutdale since February 21. Today is March 3. I have spent a whole lot of time on the phone with several representatives of FedEx (after a frustrating experience trying to bypass automated responses) seeking answers as to why the package stopped moving. They have been of no assistance at all. I have asked the shipper to file a lost package claim and send me a new product via the much more reliable and less expensive USPS (at least for deliveries to Alaska). FedEx is the worst of all the delivery options. Their local drivers frequently deliver my packages to a neighbor's house. And we sometimes receive deliveries addressed to our neighbors. Why is my package just sitting in Troutdale?!?!...it's been there for 4 days now?!?!...wtf?!?! FedEx is ABSOLUTELY the worst of all the carriers. I cringe everytime I find out my order is being shipped FedEx! I currently have a package that was supposed to be delivered Monday December 5th, but it's been sitting in Troutdale for several days now for some unknown reason, with a delayed shipping date. I tracked another package of mine last month... It arrived in Idaho, then tracked it to Oregon, but for some reason it went back to Idaho, then back to Oregon, this happened twice!! Why doesn't this company just go out of business, so we can rely on the more reliable carriers out there to deliver packages... I HATE FEDEX!!!!!! read more

I had 2 packages coming from the same location, Spokane WA. 1 shipped with UPS the other with Fedex. The UPS package already made it to my home in Chicago area. The Fedex package was delayed in Troutdale at least 6 days so far but probably more as it's still there today on day 6! The problem is made worse by their very uninformative updates. The updates for changes are slow and lacking information. The "arrived at facility" in Troutdale notification was 6 days late and prior to that all the notifications just stated "On the way". They could have at least notified me of delays which would at least resolve any concerns about the package being lost, which they did not do until I called them on day 5 of being stuck in Troutdale. Calling in was no help as they also had no explanation but simply stated that the package is "on the way". read more

FedEx has managed to work it's way to becoming the worst package carrier on the country. And this Troutdale hub warehouse is the worst of the worst. FedEx sends me a notification that the package will be delivered by 8pm and requires a signature. I wait from 8am to 6pm. Finally call FedEx and after 30 minutes get a human from somewhere on the other side of the world who barely speaks English and tells me that maybe I'll get my package tomorrow. We often have packages delivered via the Troutdale FedEx center, but lately there have been several packages misdirected, or damaged, creating extended delays. Fedex - Damaged shipment notice--again. - Couriers & Delivery Services Near Me - Troutdale, Oregon

I've lived in Portland for six years, and none of the packages FedEx has handled for me have arrived when they said they would. Whenever I find out one of my packages is coming through the FedEx Troutdale, OR location I regret placing the order. Multiple packages were supposed to arrive this week. The first two were delivered to the wrong address. Another package was scheduled for delivery the next day. The driver's name who dropped my last delivery off at the wrong place was on the delivery tracker for this package, so I wasn't holding my breath. He managed to deliver it to my address this time, but as I watched him walk up to the door on my Ring camera he straight up dropped it with with a thud on the ground. Two more packages were supposed to be delivered today. The online notice said that they were on the truck for delivery this morning, one was loaded at 3:35am and the other at 7:57am. At 8:29am BOTH packages said they were returned to the warehouse for inspection and would be delivered tomorrow. The rest of the items that I am waiting on had delivery dates listed, and now they all show "On the way". I'm in awe of how a company that's been in business for 50 years can be so consistently bad and still stay in business. read more

FedEx is the WORST!!! I can't even remember the last time I received a FedEx package on time. Most of my packages get routed to me through Troutdale, OR and what they say about that location is true... "Where packages go to die!" Packages almost always get stuck at that location for days, never show up, show up days or weeks later than originally scheduled, or arrive damaged. Originally the package was to be delivered between 8 & 12 then after 12 it jumped to before the end of the day. I sit home all damn day waiting, then I get a notification at 18:00 that it was attempted at 17:15 even though my front door was open and I'm sitting in the living room right next to the door, get no alert on any of my cameras either because they never actually made en attempt to deliver my stuff. Basically they just made me sit here all day for nothing just to decide last minuet not to deliver my shit. I'm also filling a complaint with Amazon, though I doubt either company really cares about there customers. read more

You better hope your package doesn't end up here, if so be prepared to wait many weeks. This is where packages go to die.

As a follow-up the day after this review was made I received another package from FedEx. From the same driver. Who, again, drove over the berm to leave my property once again nearly tipping his truck over. On a positive note, after lodging a complaint with FedEx, I received a callback from the driver's manager who came out to check the damage, offered to help backfill, and asked if my security camera had caught any footage of the driver leaving as he apparently also damaged the truck. Pretty sure someone got fired that day. read more

I was supposed to receive a package today, with the stipulation that an adult be present for a signature. We've been home all morning with the front door and the garage door open. We even have two contractors working on our house all day, also in and out of the house. We had no deliveries from fedex at any point. I decided to check the status of the delivery at about 1:45 pm. Lo and behold it said they attempted delivery at 1:07 pm. Well, I was at home at 1:07. My wife was in the garage from about 12:50 pm to 2:00 pm, again, with the garage door open. A fedex truck hadn't as much as driven by. Yet, there was a supposed attempted delivery. The driver lied. Lest you think this is a one-off, this scenario has played out several times. Just a couple months ago there was a three day succession where fedex attempted delivery. Each time, at least me or my wife was home at the supposed time of attempted delivery. I don't know if it's a specific driver in my location, or just a culture of not caring for the customer at Troutdale fedex, but judging by the other reviews, it's a pattern of dishonesty.
