I opted for the Sticky Gochujang and Jamaican Jerk (six each), thinking that would provide two disparate tastes given my experiences with both. As it turned out, not so much. Both sixes of wings were well prepared and quite tasty but were also (over)loaded with sauce. I normally expect jerk wings to be dry. The Korean wings were not so much 'sticky' as drowned in sauce. Frankly, the flavors were similar. Prices are high but that's what you have to expect these days in Bend. The wings are not small as some have suggested. Fairly normal sized, I'd say. Haven't tried a crepe yet but the photos look enticing. I give this cart a thumbs up although next time I'll try the Old Bay style which friends have reported to be of the dry variety.

Maybe they own the building? - Food is by NW Wing Shop. Good wings and other chicken-related things. Not much for vegetarians except salad and cauliflower. - It's billed as a taphouse but has a pretty small array of taps. Full bar but it's probably limited there too. - Service is Bend friendly. If you're not sitting at the small bar, order drinks and food at the front register. - Happy hour 4-6 pm.

I was initially very hungry when I first got here so I gobbled these wings down. The blue cheese is bland. It was really the highlight of why we chose the place. I don't want this to ruin anyone else's experience. This is my own. I do believe that the wings are not bad at all. It's just that they could be better. I got the wings to go, but I didn't get a peek inside and it looks like a nice place to sit down and eat. Nice TVs somber music... newer building. I would say that the wings are about a 7.5 out of 10 . My bias comes from being from the southeast. The food is just a little different a lot more flavor packed, but I would probably come back again if I were in the mood for wings. _- I should've started with the pros, but if you've read this far, the pros were the wings do come out fresh, they taste juicy, and that is always a big Turn on. No one likes the taste of processed wings. The other pro is the flavor is generally not awful. It's moderately good. So. Give them a shot :) -- If I were going to elevate this dish, I would pair it with a 10 year blue cheese with more crumbles, and add a little bit of more Parmesan cheese to the garlic and Parmesan flavor.

Restaurant Review - Fire on the Mountain - Bend, Oregon…read more I had lunch here with a friend and his wife, whom I just met. This is a very casual restaurant. In fact, pretty much everything about Fire on the Mountain is casual. The staff was mellow, and it is a standard walk-up, order, get a number, and find-a-seat setup. That part went smoothly. We sat outside, which was a comfortable space. The whole restaurant feels airy, relaxed, and yes, very casual. Our order came out fairly quickly. The food was presented well, but this is where the experience fell short. My Straight-Up Chicken Sandwich lived up to its name. It was just that, a straight-up chicken sandwich. Nothing really set it apart from what I could throw together at home. The tater tots were straight out of a school cafeteria or from my own freezer and air fryer. Two thumbs up, however, for the Hawaiian Punch. I checked with my dining companions, and they agreed their meals were on the average side. One mentioned her BBQ chicken salad was overdressed. "Doused" was the word she used. The other said the barbecue sauce on his sandwich was thin and bland. Prices are right in line with what is common these days. Sandwiches run about $16 to $17, with $2 to $3 add-ons for cheese, bacon, etc. With tip, lunch for the three of us came to about $59. That is standard for Bend now, though it still stings. I pressed the printed ticket button but never received one, and I did not bother to ask. Not a big deal. Overall, it was a nice lunch with good company. The space is pleasant, and the staff covered the basics. But the food did not stand out, and there was nothing about the experience that would make me suggest to friends, "Hey, let's go to Fire on the Mountain." I will probably pass on a return visit.

Includes things like pho and a Nashville sandwich (what I ordered - it's decent, spicy, but won't displace any fond memories of Hattie B's in the South). What's missing is anything at all for vegetarians, except salad and a few fried snacks. A Beyond burger would be a great addition. As it is, my wife will definitely not come here. - Seating is much the same except with mostly six-seat high tops. I believe Cabin 22 had low tops. Mobility-challenged folks might have trouble finding a spot. The patio outside is nicer, although the proximity to 14th street might render it a bit noisy. The bar is much the same. - Good tap list with lots of choices, including local beer. - Prices are in line with what you'll find in Bend these days for food and drinks. - Service might be a bit wonky what with the 'order at the bar' signs on the tables. During our visit, the bartender immediately came over to take our order and frequently returned. It wasn't busy so that might not be the norm. Bend friendly service. - I mentioned mobility-challenged folks: what hasn't changed are the restrooms. If you're wheelchair bound, you're screwed. No way to even get into the restrooms with those really narrow doors. I would have hoped the new owners would fix that ADA failure. They're also too small for the size of the restaurant. Overall, four stars. Seems like a good hangout joint for most folks. I'd be interested if the menu changes from the soft opening offerings.
