    Slices of cakes

I love how Forest Hills got a Fay Da bakery! So convenient to the train station, which is literally on the same block! This Fay Da blew my eyes away at the fact that all pastries are individually wrapped and you don't need to put them on a tray for the cashier to wrap them up like other locations! Less work for you! Just the downside is this place only accepts cash, which sucks! This place got ensaymada that is sugar coated compared to other locations that are not sugar coated. Pineapple buns are my favorite and I love how they have different pineapple buns. I just love the plain ones and always get them all the time from Fay Da. I also love the fact that this location has all the hot food like curry puffs and cha siu bao on display at around 4pm in the day. Usually got food is mostly sold out early in the day or by noon they're completely out! Only this location! They got one more lo mai gai (sticky lotus rice wrap) left in the hot shelf. Thats my favorite dim sum, the sticky rice is so good and juicy! Will definitely be back for more pastries and hot food when I'm around this area!

I've been coming here for years, especially during college on my way into the city. Love the coffee milk! The west 4th location is my favorite and this one is also good (flushing one didn't love). This has good amount of seating.

Steamed pork & vegetable bun--best eaten hot and on-site.

My go-to for Asian buns. The roast pork, curry beef, and hot dog buns never miss. I always eat in for anything steamed--tastes way better fresh than packed to-go. This spot's got real neighborhood character: seniors from every background catching up, meter maids dropping in, and the subway right outside. It's fast, efficient, and full of regulars. Underrated gem? The honey lemon tea. Made with fresh lemon slices and a full ladle of honey--soothing and simple, have it hot or cold. It's not fancy, but it's dependable. And in Forest Hills, that goes a long way.

Stopped in on Friday afternoon. Friendly services from the cashiers. You can find a place for seats. Bub is soft and warm enough. Red bean bun is only $1.95 Restrooms inside for the customers.

    Neapolitan Cake

I ordered the Neapolitan Cake, which I've been wanting for a while now. While I personally can't taste different individual flavors like strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla in the cake, the cake has the perfect ratio of cake and frosting. It's subtly sweet, and the cake is spongy. There's also little shavings of chocolate around the edge of the slice, which is my favorite part. The staff at the front that rung up my boyfriend and I was nice. There's a few tables to sit at while you grab a quick bite, and the bakery gives me the same nostalgic childhood feeling of an Asian bakery. This bakery is a little larger with space for seating. Around 5 PM on a Sunday, there's not a large variety of cake and pastries left, but maybe that's a good thing if it means bread is fresh!

One of the original Asian bakeries. I love coming here and enjoying my mini buns and bread. It's always fresh and clean.

Was back in Forrest Hills, for only a few hours, had to visit Fay Da and Pick up some goodies. The synopsis of the review is: where can you get a tasty filling Breakfast for less than $5.? It's yam cha style. Eat first, then grab a tray and start going from bin to bin or rotary case and make your choices. If you didn't know it; you could be in a fancy French or Italian pastry shop. That's how good some of the cakes look. This place is always spic and span clean. There's someone wiping down the tables, the handles and cases where the pasties are displayed constantly. The trays and tongs are wiped down and returned to where they're set out for use. The baked goods are fresh, delicious, and, in a good way, addictive. Handheld pastries, cakes, are on display. The selection is astounding. Moon cakes are back.

Fay Da may not be my first choice in Chinese bakeries, but their convenient locations cannot be beat. This one on Queens Blvd in Forest Hills is mere steps away from the entrance to the 71st Ave subway station. If you're on your way to work, it's so easy to pick up breakfast with coffee/tea or a late afternoon snack on your way home. The listed hours are from 7am-8:30pm, but lately has been closed by 7pm when the shelves are mostly bare. There is usually a very good selection of buns, both savory and sweet. The usual standards like roast pork, ham & egg, hot dog, pork flax, pineapple and coconut cocktail are available, as well as more uniquely different types. Try the curry beef puffs or chicken pies under the carousel heating lamps. The flaky crusts are great when they're reheated in the toaster oven also. I'll buy a variety of buns and pastries to have for a convenient breakfast out of the microwave on weekdays. If you can get a freshly baked char siu bao (roast pork bun) in the morning when it's still warm, your whole day seems brighter.

    Fresh Mango Cake

Ordered the fresh mango cake for $28. There were only a limited types of cakes. I felt the cake was average in taste. Could hardly taste the mango. It looked better than it actually was.

3.5 starts. This Fay Da Bakery is conveniently located right next to the 71st Avenue subway stop in Forest Hills. Perfect spot for commuters to quickly grab breakfast and/or lunch before heading into the subway. Fay Da is a popular Chinese bakery chain and there are many locations in New York. The staff at this location is very friendly, polite and efficient. During the morning rush, there can be lines for the checkout, but they move very quickly. The bakery is clean and there are plenty of seating in the front. There is a ramp at the entrance, making it stroller accessible but not wheelchair accessible as the door is not wide enough. The baked goods/pastries are towards the back in display cases and by the counter. The breads and pastries at this location are usually very fresh due to the high traffic that they get. They put new items out several times during the day. I really like their sponge cake and almond twist pastry. They also offer some savory items like curry beef puff, pork buns, lotus leaf wraps and sandwiches. This place is cash only. Overall, a great place to grab a quick snack or meal.

The second location in New York is 27-51 Jackson Ave, Long Island City, NY 11101. My first NaiSnow experience was at the Long Island City location. I walked in and ordered the Matcha Latte Boba, Caramel Egg Tart, Matcha Tiramisu Tart, Coffee Tiramisu Tart at the counter. It didn't take long for the order to be ready and it was all packed in an insulated bag. Inside, there are a few tables and countertop seats. The caramel egg tart is filled with custard core and a caramel aroma, the coffee tiramisu tart has a sponge cake soaked in coffee and layered with cream on a crisp and buttery tart, and the matcha tiramisu tart is made with premium Jingshan matcha powder fully infused into the cake base and layered with smooth cream cheese filling. The tarts are golden and have crispy layers. It just melts in your mouth. They are also a good size. The matcha latte boba was also very good. NaiSnow is definitely worth checking out!

We walked into a clean and cozy space with the pastries displayed up front, making it feel like a nice casual stop for a dessert or afternoon drink. The layout is inviting and functional, with enough seating to enjoy your food and drinks instead of just grabbing everything to go, and the overall atmosphere makes it a pleasant place to take a break, especially if you are looking for a dessert spot in the neighborhood. The egg tarts are definitely the standout item here. We tried a few and found the crust has a nice flaky texture while the filling is smooth, creamy, and rich. The matcha egg tart had a good balance between the matcha flavor and the classic custard base, and the matcha wasn't just a color or light topping, it actually came through in the flavor. The classic egg tart is also a solid choice if you prefer something more traditional. Their other pastries, like the cream horns and seasonal options, add some variety beyond the usual bakery selection and give you reasons to explore beyond the egg tarts. The drink menu is another strong part of NaiSnow. They have a mix of matcha drinks, teas, and fruit-based options, so there are plenty of choices depending on what you are in the mood for. The matcha drinks pair especially well with the pastries since they keep the overall experience from feeling too heavy or overly sweet. The service was friendly and the staff were helpful when ordering, guiding us through the options without pressure. The shop has a comfortable energy, and even when it gets busier during peak times, the seating area stays manageable and the pace of the visit feels relaxed. The combination of pastries, drinks, and a cozy setup makes it a well-rounded stop for a quick dessert or casual café visit. NaiSnow Tea and Bakery is a solid place for egg tarts, pastries, and tea drinks, offering a dependable stop that feels both thoughtful and satisfying without overcomplicating what it sets out to do.

There's usually a line of some length during peak hours and especially around the holidays. You can tell by the sheer volume of baked goods and cakes available in their window displays that they sell a lot daily. This location is on the main drag of the little downtown section of Forest Hills, the baked goods in the front window display connect to a tall and long glass counter along the left side of the store that extends almost to the back. At the back middle and along the right side of the wall there's seating for about two dozen people at small cafe tables. They carry an assortment of traditional cakes (full and sliced), pies, cookies, pastries, cheesecakes, cupcakes, ice cream and coffee/tea drinks. A wide variety of flavors in each, so you're bound to find something sweet to satisfy most here. They are a classic bakery so from what I can tell, they don't carry items that are gluten, dairy or nut free. I've purchased their apple pie, fruit tart, berry napoleon, red velvet and chocolate fudge cakes from this or other locations in the past and they're all solid choices for desserts to share with a larger group, though I find a lot of their cake options to be on the richer side. My most recent encounter with their cakes came in the form of a slice of their seven layer cake $9.95 which is thin layers of yellow cake alternating with chocolate cream mmm pretty tasty, and their caramel cake $9.95 which had a layer of chocolate cake in the middle, sandwiched by caramel cream and white cake on either side. The latter had a pronounced caramel flavor that was enjoyable though a bit too much cream for me. My preference would be for their chocolate cakes over other cake flavors here. Their apple pie is one of my favorite apple pies anywhere tho!

Another one I really enjoy is the Blueberry Cardamom Escargo, which has absolutely delicious cream cheese frosting mixed with wild blueberry jam and that nice hint of cardamom. Very moist. The Chocolate Chunk Cookie is pretty good too. Plenty of chocolate chunks with a hit of salt. However, their popular Pain Au Chocolate is not the best I have had.
