Hadn't tried this place before because my husband said it wasn't good, come to find out he hadn't been in like 20+ years so he had no idea haha. We ordered pickup and it was ready on 20 minutes! My husband said it was packed there and they had live music, but our order was ready on time! We got one thin crust cheese and one thick/pan crust cheese because we couldn't decide! It was a good idea because both were yummy! Wasn't like the best pizza ever but still really good for what it is, and I would definitely order from here again!

I tried Fatso's randomly when I found it on Yelp. The place was poppin! A lot of people at the bar, which may be the secret to their food. The food was not good. Everything fried had the same taste, and the pizza didnt taste like a pizza. I dont know how to describe it, but mayb a few beers would have helped! Inside was a little packed and narrow, and also pretty dark. They need to add a lil light inside! Staff seemed like they were upset to be at work, so Fatso's seemed very transactional. Which is okay, I just like to see poeple smile sometimes. Fatso's to me was a one-and-done kinda place.

The service was attentive and the food was tasty. The beer was delicious and we'll be back to try more of their offerings.

Food was still pretty good. The white pizza with hamburger could have used extra hamburger. The salad was very big and had good ingredients, but only two dressing choices.

This is a spot sure! Great beer list, wings and pizza nothing wrong with any of that. Old school bar with great service. Went in looking to try a new pizza and really enjoyed it. Owner came over and chatted us up, love that about a place. Pizza is tavern cut, if you Chicago tavern style purist it is not cornmeal crust, but still good. The Big Johnson was great, fresh garlic thumbs up! Try it and enjoy!

Jessica, my waitress was really awesome and very friendly and helped me pick out some really great things on the menu. I had the Reuben sandwich with sweet potato fries. The German pretzel bites with beer, cheese and the churros with ice cream and a few beers and I have to say the prices are excellent and the food is incredibly good and I don't say that lightning most dive bars are just good for the ambience and a few cheap drinks. This place is great all around. Also, their patio area is dog friendly, so I was able to bring my little furry friend with me and he hung out and laid down near the table. Another bonus.

You can tell right away this is the kind of place regulars come back to often. Food I didn't try much food, but I did have the cheese crisp and it was solid. Light, flaky, and more like an open-faced tostada than a quesadilla. It came topped with green chili and chicken, and everything worked well together. Based on that, I'd expect the rest of the menu to be consistent, even if it's not trying to reinvent the wheel. Service Service was efficient, especially considering how busy it was. No complaints here... you can tell the staff knows how to handle a full house and keep things moving. Ambience This is where the place stands out. The vibe feels like a food network designed a biker bar, but in a fun, not over-the-top way. It's also apparently a Kansas City Chiefs bar, which adds to the identity. There was a live band playing early 2000s rock hits, which kept the energy up. Crowd was friendly overall, very much a neighborhood crowd. Overall This isn't a destination bar, but it's a really solid go-to if you live nearby. Think of it as an elevated dive/sports bar with a strong local following. Good drinks, good energy, and a place that does what it's supposed to do well.

Customer service was close to non-existent, just a bunch of bodies going thru the motions. Ordered 2 number 3's (slice, some wings, drink). They messed up one of them and brought the wrong kind of wings. Didn't even bother to offer to "try those" while they correct the mistake, but okay... (I actually even asked, since it was the first time, and he declined and took the basket) The fries came out with a clump of cheese and looked like they had been sitting there for 10 mins. No melted cheese, no oregano - definitely not how it was described. The pizza was absolutely mid. Tried the cheese because that's a staple, but boy was that basic. Costco's cheese slice tastes better but is as greasy and salty. I'd asked for a well done slice and instructions again were not followed, and while this other person did place a different slice in the oven, he also was very indifferent to the situation. Perhaps this shouldn't be your spot if you like good pizza or customer service.

We've been back a second time now, and honestly that matters more to me than a great first visit…read more This still feels like a place trying to do more than the standard strip mall pizza formula without charging like it's trying to be Pizzeria Bianco. That's a good lane to be in. My wife and I have now tried a couple different pizzas here. The regular pepperoni was solid from the start, but on this visit we also tried an inverted-style pepperoni pizza they're apparently still testing and not even listing on the menu yet. It was extremely garlic forward. I loved it, but I can absolutely see it being divisive if you're not a garlic person. For me, though, it worked. Big flavor, crispy pepperoni edges, and something different from the usual pizza lineup. The crust still had that slightly charred wood-fired taste that feels intentional instead of overdone, and the ingredients again tasted fresh instead of like they'd been sitting around all day. We skipped the wings this time, but they honestly still deserve a mention because they were the standout from our first visit. Good crisp, sauce actually stuck to them, and the flavor came through instead of feeling like an afterthought. A lot of pizza places treat wings like filler menu items. These didn't. Owner was there again and clearly involved in what's coming out of the kitchen. In this case, that seems to be a positive. Overall, after two visits, this place feels like it has personality. Not just another interchangeable pizza spot. Solid value, above-average pizza, legitimately great wings, and worth keeping in the rotation.

After attending an event in the area, we stopped by Cactus Tavern for a late night bite to eat and…read morea drink on a Saturday night. Located on Cave Creek Road, I had passed by this bar several times and was excited to finally try it out. While I parked across the street at the venue where I was for my event prior, I did notice that they had a decent amount of free parking available. Ambiance (4/5): Cactus Tavern is a dive bar with some Arizona flair. Given the name of the bar, I expected some cactus decor. It did not disappoint...including square lights with cactus cut-outs above each table. There are several high top tables as well as seating at the bar. It's not a huge bar, probably fits 50 people or so, and it was about 90% at capacity when I was there. They also have one pool table. Seems like the type of place where regulars come, which is always a plus in my book. Service (4.5/5): Our waitress did a great job taking care of us despite being quite busy. She was friendly, efficient, and made some recommendations when I asked for some. Pro tip: they give you a cash discount, so if you'd like to save a little bit, make sure you bring cash. Drinks (4/5): With it being a dive bar, the options are going to be on a simpler side. They had eight or so beers on tap, so not a large selection, but I ended up going with a WOW Wheat. A few local beers, plus some usual suspects like Coors Light, Dos Equis, Modelo, etc. While the selection didn't blow my socks off, the prices are reasonable. That counts for a lot. Food (4.5/5): According to Yelp, Cactus Tavern is known for their quesabirria tacos. Since quesabirria is one of my favorite Mexican foods, I couldn't say no. I'm glad I didn't. You get three quesabirria tacos (birria meat, cilantro, cheese, and onions), fresh off the griddle, served with a green salsa and consommé. These were hands down some of the best birria tacos I've ever had. They were served right off the grill, the meat was flavorful, and the oozy cheese was delicious. With a side of elote (on the cob), it made for the perfect meal. This is not your typical bar food, y'all. It's a notch or two above. I was pleasantly surprised. And like the drinks, the food prices are affordable too. Pro tip #2: if you're looking for deals beyond the cash discount, they have daily discounts on various items including a burger and a pint, Philly cheesesteak, etc. depending on the day.
