Fatburger in West Hollywood is everything you want from a classic burger joint. It has a vintage diner vibe that feels both nostalgic and totally welcoming, like you should be there with a paper hat and a milkshake. The service was over the top friendly, with both the cashier and the cook going out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. It is not often you leave a fast-casual spot thinking, "Wow, those people really seemed to enjoy being there," but here we are. I went with the original cheeseburger with everything on it, plus a side of fat fries, and it absolutely hit the spot. The burger was juicy, the toppings were fresh, and the fries were perfectly golden with just the right amount of crisp. Nothing fancy, just good food done really well. If you are in the area and craving a solid, satisfying meal with great service, this place delivers.

Fatburger, a Los Angeles original, serves a great quality hamburger cooked to order is shear perfection. The burgers are cooked to order, the great tasting burgers is dress with fresh lettuce, onions, pickles, relish, mayonnaise, mustard, truly old fashion burger which is great. I had an order of Fat Fries, and a drink . Great meal made even better by the friendly crew.

Ordered the Original fatburger. It's a juicy 1/3 lb beef patty with a nice pickle layer and mustard on top. The large tomato slice was ice cold on top balancing a warmth to this burger when you bite into this immediately after being served. The shredded lettuce is not too loose on top and the mayo is fairly light on top. The size of the original fatburger is adequate and you can increase the size or add other add-ons too if you like. This is a nice fast food option to have if you're in the area. The staff here are friendly and efficient with orders. The foot traffic is not busy during off peak hours. Plenty of seating inside and out. Small parking lot but just enough spaces

When I first arrived in Los Angeles years ago, I remember I had my first Fatburger. With a fried egg! Today I was craving one and decided to try this location on Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood. It doesn't disappoint. The service was so nice and with a big smile. My large Fatburger was great...and huge. Very clean inside and a nice location if you want to eat in. Love the old b/w photographs of jazz and R&B music legends on the walls. They also have turkey burgers, a chicken sandwich, milk shakes, sweet potato fries...and the newer meatless "impossible" burgers. Plus right now they have breaded chicken strips and fries made with Frank's Nashville Hot Seasoning and a lot of other good stuff. There's easy free parking just outside.

Classic Large Fatburger (1/2 lb.) Meal excellent !

Pro-tip: post mates has some really good deals right now for fatburger. Each 1/2 pound fatburger is buy one get one free. Same with onion rings and vanilla /chocolate milkshake. Same deal. Good old Fatburger! The original Los Angeles smash burger. With the works. But nowadays with the Gen Zer's, a smash burger with the works is a bad thing. No, for them, the edges must be super crispy and that and that only is the defining characteristic of a good smash burger. Well youngins, I'm here to tell you sometimes pickles, relish, onions tomatoes is okay. You see, fat burger is your red and blue all American burger. And we do like our burger fat!!! And the regular 1/2 fatburger is amazing. It's juicy, and what really elevates the meats taste is the sweetened relish. Sure the edges of the smashed burger are indeed not ad crispy as FTW or easy street, but so what? Fatburger has been smashing for years before these places even gestated . That says a lot. And their fat steak fries are of course crunchy and perfectly salty. Their hand-scooped shakes are a real treat. So much better than any other fast food place. Id recommend their vanilla or chocolate or Oreo shake.

The owners are super nice and welcoming, which always leaves a good impression. On my second visit (just a regular day), the experience was a little different. The staff didn't seem very attentive to me or my guest. Nothing rude.. just not very engaged. That said, the restaurant does some really cool things. One feature I liked a lot was the spin board that displays your name when your order is ready.. small touch, but creative and fun. Because of the quality of the food and the overall vibe, I'm leaving four stars instead of something lower. The service didn't quite take it over the top, but there also wasn't anything bad enough to knock it down further. With more consistent attentiveness from staff, this spot could easily be a standout.

Specifically, I had the Wild Burger, which the menu describes as being, "6 oz of a juicy, house-ground Angus beef patty, nestled in a soft potato brioche bun. Topped with rich American cheddar cheese, crisp iceberg lettuce, and a savory bacon bourbon onion jam, all drizzled with smoky BBQ sauce." It was very flavorful, meaty, and, as I said, juicy. So much so that I wish I had a baby wipe with me. I also got the fries, which were skinny fries, and crispy, though they were still potato-y. The only bummer is that because they put the burger on the same plate as the fries, some of the fries got soggy from all the burger juice. Though it wasn't a huge bummer because they give you a good pile of fries, so losing a few isn't the worst thing. As for the place itself, it's clean, isn't cramped, and has a good number of tables. The staff were also friendly and very helpful. Also, because it's right in the middle of Melrose, it wasn't hard to find a parking spot on a side street, though it helped that I went on a Wednesday, when parking isn't restricted.

The interior was inviting, decorated with Philly memorabilia, art, snacks, and a few tables inside and out. There is a kiosk to order along with the cashier. After we ordered 3x Mushroom steaks and a Philly's Best Cheesesteak, the owner came out with cheese samples comparing standard American (which we ordered by default) vs Cooper's American cheese samples, informing us of the latest popular taste fads in Philly. This was an unexpected delight to find out that Cooper's and the newer Amoroso sesame rolls were nice improvements over the plain roll and standard white American cheese. Cooper's gave a pleasant sharper flavor to the normal white American cheese. The finely chopped steak, mushrooms, onions, cheese, and peppers were very generous and cooked and melted to perfection. Everything was delicious and quite filling. If you are looking for a hearty Philly Cheesesteak fix, look no further. Halfway through eating it I realized they didn't put any effing pickles or sauce on it. WHAT?! How did you forget this?! But still, even without those, are you guys not smashing any season into your burger? I feel like I've discovered a conspiracy on par with the Da Vinci Code, which if I'm honest I'm not sure if that's a proper conspiracy analogy bc I never saw or read da Vinci code. Sucking a ketchup packet would've resulted in a more flavorful dinner. Licking a Hollywood blvd sidewalk for 3 seconds would give you a better sodium intake. But I digress. I am not kidding when I say the grocery store GMO Monsanto radish had more flavor than the burger. The sweet potato fries were the "highlight" of the meal and tasted as good as anything you'll get in a grocery store frozen aisle. There's no reason to ever go back.
