Ms. Cashier!

Second time spending my money here and the LAST TIME! False advertising on their website where we are required to place pickup(to go) orders. Thursday night fish and shrimp special. Advertised $17.99. I was charged $19.99. After bringing to the cashier's attention she immediately went into defensive mode and advised "I don't know whats online but what you were charges is what it cost!" Mind you I showed her employer's website and she even took my phone to go through the order process on her own! Ma'am, I don't need to lie about $2. I know the economy's bad but I just ordered over $60 worth of food and drinks! I'm good over here! She stood there batting her extended eyelashes and told me there was nothing she could do and kept referring to the online price being correct even though their website shows different. The quickest way to lose my business is to fail to acknowledge a customer's concerns. Dismissive attitudes, and doubling down even with facts presented. I run a company and wouldn't come close to hiring the cashier who I presented this issue. No offer to me to speak to a Manager! Nothing! Just batting her eyelashes and smacking on chewing gum! To add injury to insult, I checked my food and I was missing the extra piece of fish that I paid for. Again, this "cashier' tried lying again by telling me that fish is sold by the pound and only AFTER I presented her with my receipt that she already had access to did she relent and that was ONLY because another lady who was much more customer friendly came from the kitchen to apologize to and confirm that she had neglected to add my other piece of catfish! Again, Ms "Cashier" casually walks off with no apology acknowledgement or anything. Note-this was the SECOND they did this as they 'forgot' to add my extra piece of fish on my order. Mind you the extra fish is $10.75 for CATFISH!!! Seems like a pattern for this business! Bag up the order. Tie it up tightly and hope the customer doesn't check until they're home and by then it's too late to try to return and if you call to report food missing, I'm certain "Ms. Cashier", will just deny and lie, indicating that all the food was in the bag when she's not even the one cooking or bagging it up! Just the money taker! BUYER BEWARE! Needless to say, I got my food and left immediately and sitting in my car fuming writing this feedback! NEVER AGAIN FATBOYS!!!!! I tried! You only get ONE SECOND CHANCE WITH ME! SEE YA!

Wing & Shrimp Platter French Fries & Collard Greens
Jaime S.

We decided to check out something new to us on a beautiful Monday evening. It's about 25 minutes from our house, so we hoped it be good. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot. FatBoys is located in a larger shopping center on New Bern near the Walmart, not far from the intersection of New Hope Rd. The place is very spacious. There's plenty of seating, tables and booths. High tops and regular seating. They have a full bar as well as an extensive menus with sandwiches, platters, burgers, wings and even seafood boils. They also have desserts and kids meals. I ordered the wing and shrimp platter, and it comes with two sides. I chose the collard and the crinkle cut fries. My daughter had the fried whiting platter with string beans and Mac & Cheeses. Oh, and we had cheesesteak egg rolls as our appetizer. You can order by QR code, or with the hostess/server/waitress (she does everything but cook). The service was great and the food came out pretty quickly, and it was hot and fresh. The fried items were fried to a perfect golden brown and fried perfectly. The veggies had a good taste and the Mac & cheese was cheesy. The egg rolls were good, of course there could have been more meat inside, but still tasty. I enjoyed the crinkle fries, and don't normally like them. The sauces were ok. The fat boy sauce is like yum yum sauce but thinner, and the ranch wasn't in house made. The food was pretty good, but the music was great! I jammed the whole time I ate, and even lingered to enjoy the music. I'll definitely go back and try other items on the menu. It's a great spot to check out for sure.

Philly Cheese Steak egg rolls with an extra sauce. They were delish!

Food was superb and fresh Service was amazing Ambiance was quiet and cozy. Music was great.

Vegetarian plate Mac & Cheese Lunch, yelllow rice collards and yams

I rate the food a 8 but the service is a 2 ...when you go to the restaurant you want drinks and the cashier just stands up front for like 10 min looking at her phone we had to ask for drinks ...the food is pretty good..but I want be back

Once your order is placed you have to wait ten minutes before you can order more food. There are multiple sushi rolls, chicken wings, soups, hibachi, dumplings, and etc available to order. The only catch is that if you do not eat the rolls you will be charged for them. When came right when the business opened but some of the desserts were listed as being out of stock. All of the food that we ordered was brought out together with some of the items such as the rolls and dumplings on the same plates. We weren't a fan of the miso soup. But everything else was fresh and tasted good. Our server checked on us multiple times. I would come back and try other food options.

We went with the Cajun wings and a seafood boil with king crab legs, shrimp, boiled eggs, potatoes, and corn. You can choose between different marinades and spice levels. We went with garlic butter and mild spice. I really wanted to try the shrimp fried rice but it was no longer available, I assume due to being sold out. Next time! Upon delivery, the food arrived very hot and smelled delicious. They ensure it's packaged so a leak doesn't occur. The wings were super crispy, flavorful, and delicious. The boil was a huge portion, truly fresh, flavorful, and delicious. You never know what you're going to get when you order seafood for delivery, but we were thoroughly impressed! The seafood boil and wings could feed two people I'd say. I can't wait to order again and absolutely will be. I will say the only downside is the price, it was about $160 for the boil and wings, but for a special occasion, absolutely worth it. I was debating between four and five stars but it was SO delicious and fresh, that I had to go with five.

Had the calamari as an appetizer, very chewy, I would not recommend. I really went for the crab broil. Mine had, crab legs, shrimp, potatoes, corn and sausage, everything was cooked well. I went with the Big Bang sauce, mild which includes Cajun, garlic and lemon pepper. It is salty. Overall, it was a solid broil for the price. I went in early on a Friday, service was quick and friendly. Dim lighting and cool upbeat music.

The people are really nice. They sell kinds of fish (and cook them) that I didn't see at any online menu, like barramundi, without charging stupid money. The lobster prices are a little steep, but a 12 ounce tail is not coming from a chicken lobster. Even though I am, I sorta don't want to rave about this place because yeah, that's a teeny parking lot. Off peak no problem but pretty soon weekend dinner rush will require a shuttle bus once word gets around that this place is the real deal. You might look at their online menu and see a lot of fried stuff but there's plenty of options to steer clear of ultra processed food and get some of that doubleplusgood protein. OTOH, two things: salad served in a plastic basket on top of foil is a fail, get bowls, and please please turn down the lights. This is the second place in Chaindale with stupid overbright. At least it's not that cold blue daylight temp that makes me think I'm about to have an MRI. But none of that should stop you from trying this place. I hope they do very well. They're definitely trying their best.

The jambalaya was also super flavorful and generous with the meats and had a beautiful spice to it but not overwhelming. The hush puppies were delicious on their own but over the top delicious with the honey butter to dip in. I was in town for work and I loved it so much I came twice. It's a smaller spot with a full bar, full kitchen, and a couple of chalkboards featuring specials, giving it that laid-back, local feel. I ate lunch here twice this week--Monday and Tuesday--and both experiences were phenomenal. I ordered the same thing both times, their seafood trio appetizer, and it was perfect each time. The trio comes with house-made crab dip, fried Gulf shrimp, and fried calamari, along with toast points (which I skipped staying low carb). Everything was cooked perfectly--crispy where it should be, tender where it matters--and the consistency between visits was spot on. They also serve a house-made Louie sauce with the dish that tied everything together nicely. It complemented the seafood well without overpowering it. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and service was smooth both visits. It's located in a shopping center, so parking is easy, even if you may have to walk a short distance. There's also outdoor patio seating, which appears like it could be dog-friendly, though that wasn't confirmed. Overall, this is a well-run spot serving high-quality seafood with consistency you can count on. Highly recommended.

We opened the doors right at opening, 11am. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, quickly seated, and brought high chairs and car seat stand. We were seated at a table that made it easy to care for the kids, which was a nice touch. Our drinks were delivered quickly and we order entrees that ranged from a burger, a steak cooked to order, and two Southwest bowls. The entrees came out in a timely manner and were steaming and warm. Nobody had a single complaint about their meal. I requested my steak medium rare and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely.
