I don't know…read moreif I'm ever going to order anything else, but I probably will since it was made so well I'm curious to see what else they've mastered. Collard greens had a nice kick. The people are really nice. They sell kinds of fish (and cook them) that I didn't see at any online menu, like barramundi, without charging stupid money. The lobster prices are a little steep, but a 12 ounce tail is not coming from a chicken lobster. Even though I am, I sorta don't want to rave about this place because yeah, that's a teeny parking lot. Off peak no problem but pretty soon weekend dinner rush will require a shuttle bus once word gets around that this place is the real deal. You might look at their online menu and see a lot of fried stuff but there's plenty of options to steer clear of ultra processed food and get some of that doubleplusgood protein. OTOH, two things: salad served in a plastic basket on top of foil is a fail, get bowls, and please please turn down the lights. This is the second place in Chaindale with stupid overbright. At least it's not that cold blue daylight temp that makes me think I'm about to have an MRI. But none of that should stop you from trying this place. I hope they do very well. They're definitely trying their best.

The restaurant was located at the end of a strip mall. The interior is really clean and posh. We were seated quickly and our server got us situated right away. We ended up trying out the garlic knots and the margarita pizza. The knots were AMAZING. Some of the best I've ever had. The pizza crust was lovely and the pizza was HUGE. One slice and two knots had me full. I enjoyed the fresh ricotta on the pizza (my boys were not big fans, so we got some plain cheese for them instead). The only potential ding was once we were sat, the service from there was really slow (a challenge with two special needs kids). The wine list was reasonable both by glass and by bottle - much more so than most upscale Italian places. I took the remainder of our pizza back to the hotel and then home with us after our event -- reheated a couple slices when we got home in the oven and it was still delicious. Overall a really pleasant experience. If we're back in town again in this area, we'd absolutely visit again.

We were sat in the back of the restaurant and felt tucked away, but this didn't hinder service in the slightest. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and very helpful. He knew the menu and had a confident answer to every question. Before being sat at our table, we grabbed a drink at the bar and asked the bartender about the menu. There was a woman who took special time to explain what the menu items were and how they differed from your usual "chicken or beef etc". Which was not only informative, but interesting too. Onto the star of the show, the meal. We ordered the bison & farro and the poulet rouge carbonara. Both of these dishes were phenomenal. I've never had a culinary experience even close to this one. These are meals you think about for the rest of your life. The textures and flavors together resulted in an exquisite explosion of harmony. The kitchen staff put their heart and soul into these dishes and it is obvious! I cannot wait for my next visit.

Anyway, Was shown to my table, a male server showed up, lit the candle, and I didn't see anyone for 18 minutes while two tables around me were greeted, cleared the table of extra dishes not needed and was served water, and their plates for the dinner buffet. The server that lit the candle, came back, asked if my server showed up. Uh, no. Finally, a woman server came by, went to the other table. Can't make this up. Then she realized they were being taken care of. She finally made it to me. I informed her I was dining alone, she cleared extra dishes, asked if I needed salt or pepper. Interesting question considering I didn't have any food. She filled my water glass, then brought my plate, as it was a dinner buffet night. Their first dinner buffet. No excuse for the poor service, though. Make me feel important, valued whether dining alone or with a group, please. The buffet had a great variety of proteins and sides. A couple of beef strip choices, shredded chicken, crisp tortillas to build your own nachos for the kids, fried catfish, fried chicken patty, salmon, swordfish, all cut into small portions. Proteins were the perfect size to try everything without filling up. A carving station consisted of sirloin, pork loin, sausage and baked salmon. The seasoning on every protein at the buffet and carving station was different. Excellent. Sides included mac and cheese, roasted potatoes, a squash medley, Brussels Sprouts, and mashed potatoes. A nice spread for a salad included mixed greens, large leaves of them. All the veggie toppings, two kinds of shredded cheeses, house made croutons, four dressings and fresh fruit that blew me away. Every bite of the fruit was ripe, sweet. Not the hard, no flavor offerings at some establishments/groceries this time of year. The gumbo had large pieces of shrimp, crawfish, sausage, potatoes, and smaller pieces of mussels, mini shrimp, etc. The breads selection was biscuits, baguette and others. All fresh, soft and crunchy. Great to dip into the gumbo broth. Dessert offerings included brownies and cookies. I opted to enjoy a brownie along with the fresh berries/fruit. They also offer a Sunday brunch buffet. The other nights they have a full menu. Be aware, they automatically add in a "brunch gratuity" of 20% to the bill. Overall, I would visit again.

There isn't much I'd say they could improve when it comes to chain steakhouses. I'd never go to outback over Saltgrass either. Their cocktails are nice and flavorful, I try a new one every time we go. My favorite by far is the grilled pineapple marg. My husband says he's never had a bad old fashioned from there either. Steaks are of decent quality (for a chain), not rubbery and have great flavor. I personally haven't ever received bad service from anyone there either. Im sure there are exceptions not to discredit anyone else's experience but ours have always been good. Whenever Im in the mood for a good steak dinner, I'll go here. This place was within walking distance of our hotel and it was a beautiful day, so we walked down to have some steaks for dinner. The inside decor is pretty retro - reminds me of the old school Lone Star/Texas Roadhouse style 90s places. We arrived about 4:45 p.m. on a Saturday and the place was already packed. We had to wait an hour at the bar for a table - we sat down about 5:45. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet with grilled shrimp and sweet potato fries. Got a first course of the Caesar salad and bread rolls. The kids menu was reasonably priced and the portions my kids got were pretty sizeable. My oldest got the sirloin, and my youngest got a burger. The food was delicious all around, although my steak was overcooked for what I ordered (medium rare). Overall, we had a pleasant experience. The long wait was really inconvenient with two kids, but the food came reasonably quickly (10 minutes for the first course, mains served 30 minutes after we sat). If we are back for competition in this area again, we'd certainly revisit. I debated between 3 and 4 stars -- I'd say 4 stars for the food at the table service, 3 and less for the long wait time.
