I'm visiting from out of town and came to meet friends out for a couple drinks. They convinced me this place was a fun atmosphere, I unfortunately had the worst experience I have ever encountered at a restaurant/bar. I work in the service industry and understand how overwhelming it can become during a dinner rush however that is no excuse to create a hostile environment for not only guests but your employees. I sat on the patio and witnessed the manager Angie aggressively attack employees that were off the clock, I also experienced my server overwhelmed under a great amount of stress clearly given from the energy that was brought into the establishment from the manager. The service was great as we were all understanding of the circumstances with how busy the restaurant was. I apologized to Angie on my way out because I witnessed how stressful her night was, I ended the conversation calmly expressing she did not have to carry herself so unprofessionally and rude in front of customers. I was blatantly attacked by her words and attitude at the front of the establishment in front of many guests. I hope this is brought to the attention of someone who will change the way this place is ran, I feel horrible for the employees. I will never return if Angie is still in charge. read more

Our party of 4 wanted to go out for dinner Saturday Nov 3, 2018. Went 1st to new Uncle Bear's Brewery Gilbert, but no kitchen....just beers. Off to THE HUB & 40 minute wait? Called FAT WILLY'S from Hub at 6:09 PM & no wait. So we went to Fat Willy's & were seated just before 6:30. Waiter took drinks order & then dinner order. My buddy had to ask waiter twice for his beer as he forgot to bring it. Then waiter then came back to ask for our dinner order as he forgot what we wanted. Finally our wives were served their dinners in about 25 minutes. At 7:15 PM after 2 orders of onion rings to save me & my buddy from utter starvation-my waiter came by to apologize because my black bean burger was frozen & they were waiting for it to thaw. I told him, "BS! I microwave my frozen black bean burgers in 90 seconds at home." Buddy was having a regular meat burger. By now our wives had finished their 2 large dinners. 10 minutes later at 7:25 PM I found my waiter & told him to forget our burgers & bring our check. What an abortion. I sat where I could see the steady stream of waiters exiting the kitchen with one dinner after another, but in one hour none of them was our 2 burgers. Adios Fat Willy's-never again. read more

Restaurants in the east valley rarely update their menu so we were pleasantly surprised to hear that Fat Willys recently updated their menu. The new menu includes a variety of nachos so we tried the bbq pulled pork nachos and they were delicious! Can't wait to come back and try another new menu item. read more

Just ok. Been here twice with friends and both times it was just ok. Meat lovers was good but gave me heartburn which I never get. I've been coming to Fat Willys for years and this place is just awesome and a great family spot. If you come on Sunday mornings they have each tv labeled for which NFL game is being played. The breakfast is underrated and really good. Eggs Bennie is on fleek. Hell they even have a breakfast burger which is legit. Good wings good beer selection, if you want a place for the family to enjoy this is a good choice. Enjoy! read more

Last minute quick bite & a Beer Ambiance: Casual, Outside seating with pull up door caught my attention. Especially for Arizona beautiful weather. Very welcoming Service: Sat at the bar, bartenders very attentive, polite, welcoming and speedy service. Food: I had a burger called the blu "something" however it had blue cheese crumbles and came with fries. The burger itself was cooked perfectly as I asked for just a little pink. Was very juicy, produce very fresh and fries hot. Let's not forget the beer. Which was in a cold glass and ice cold. This burger and beer paired well together. Went out for a late dinner. Walked into the bar side menus were thrown on the table by a bar back and we were told someone will be with us.

I ordered the jalapeño popper burger with a side Caesar salad and the croutons on the salad were soft and the burger was unseasoned and sooo dry. I liked the concept of the jalapeños popper burger and the bun was pretty good but everything else about my meal was a no go. Finished my side Caesar's salad but only had a couple of bites of my burger. A waste of $16 if you ask me. read more

We came for lunch today and I had the California Burger and it was cooked to order. Very good and my wife had the quesadilla and it also was very good. Service was very slow but I think that they had only one server for the whole place. I felt sorry for her. I don't blame her. I like the place as I've been here before and food has always tasted good. It gets loud during football season, but that's to be expected. They need to hire more help to accommodate their customers, that's my only complaint. If service was better, I would give 4 stars read more

This was my first time at this location. I was one of a party of 15/16 people there to celebrate a friend's birthday. The staff at this location are top notch. We had a 3:30 reservation and went earlier in the day to bring a birthday cake and decorations. The staff put the cake aside for us and we said we would come back by 3 to decorate. When we came back, the staff had set up the tables for our party and even decorated for us! The servers who attended to our party were excellent. Drink orders were taken quickly, delivered promptly and without error. Kudos to both the kitchen and servers for getting our food out with a precision that allowed everyone to begin eating at the same time! There were no order errors and a server was quick to apologize for there being no black bean burgers today, due to a supplier error. The 2 non-meat eaters were happy with the cheese quesadilla and sweet potato fries/onion rings. This is a busy restaurant that has a well-trained staff. Our friend's birthday was a success due to the efforts of staff who were willing to go out of their way to make it a special experience. I know I'll be back very soon! read more

We were hungry for a good burger. We got that, but the horrible service canceled out the decent food. We were seated on the patio and after waiting 15 minutes for someone to come to our table, I went to the hostess desk. We thought about leaving then...we should have. After ordering and having our food delivered, we were not contacted again by anyone. No "would you like another drink," no "how's the food," no nothing. We had to flag down another server to get our bill after sitting with empty plates and glasses for another 15 minutes. Last night when we dined out at another establishment and received great service, our server got a 40% tip. Tonight's server didn't get enough to cover a bottle of water. We were also not thrilled with all the smoking happening on the patio. I get it. We're outside, but we were seated next to a large table of people and there were 5 people smoking. We eat out a lot. First off I want to state I have given this place two chances to redeem my poor first experience. My wife and I wanted to try something new and came across this place on a quick google search. The first visit I went in on a Friday evening we ordered burgers that lacked any real flavor and over cooked our burgers(we ordered medium). Two bites in my wife found a black hair in her burger neither of us have black straight hair.. so we called returned the order for a "free entree". So remembering we had "free entree" cards(not really free because we have already paid) we decided to give it another shot. Today is Tuesday, giving them the benefit of the doubt last time telling ourselves they were probably really busy. Today was no different, there was plenty of people there and I decide to try something different so I went with their "famous slow cooked ribs" and the wife went with the pizza. These decisions were horrible to say the least. I cook ribs at home very well (tooting my own horn) and let me tell you these ribs were tough, chewy, dry and tastes days old and reheated. They did not even remove the silver skin lining in the back of the ribs that made it nearly impossible to pull apart. They threw a ton of bbq sauce on top to mask the horrible cooking of the ribs but did not fool anyone. I typically man up and throw it down anyway but I couldn't stomach the taste and texture of these so called slow cooked ribs that tasted like they cooked them in the microwave. My wife's pizza was not notably good or bad just kind of generic like the pizzas you get at buffets. From what I've seen these seems to be 90% bar and 10% grill because they clearly sell a lot of alcohol. So please save your money and eat before you go or if you want to chance eating there you may have to have your fair share of alcoholic beverages to make their "food" edible. *side note I must add, staff clearly doesn't like there jobs. And when I presented my "free entree" cards some manager came out and questioned me how I got two of them and apparently was only able to redeem one at a time which made no sense to me other than the greed of getting more money from us. We will not go there again and if anyone want our free entree card I threw it away as I believe it would be inhumane to give it away so someone else can suffer.. read more

Fat willys is an interesting dining experience. Iv gone many times and it's a pretty similar experience everytime I'm there. Food is mostly great and service leaves a bit to be desired, Always friendly but never around... Beer prices are decent, selection of crafts isn't too bad. Their fish fry is nothing special. Better options close by. Pizza is the same... But their Rueben is awesome their wings and ranch are some of the best locally. Warning on the mango habanero it's the hottest version I've ever had but still lots of flavor. Burgers aren't anything crazy but it's a solid choice if you want something a little higher class then Wendy's. read more

I've been here a few times in the past few weeks and it has been hit and miss. Stopped in for lunch a couple of weeks ago and sat in the bar area. The service was great.. I ordered a turkey wrap with a side of coleslaw. The wrap was good, however the first bite of the coleslaw had a chunk of paper or plastic wrapper in it. No worries, coleslaw is what I order when I don't really want a side.. Didn't eat any more of that, but the wrap was good. Stopped in again a few days later for a couple of drinks and it was all fine.. Sat at the bar, didn't order food, service was fine with the drinks.. No complaints. Stopped by again a week or so later and sat at the bar.. It didn't seem terribly busy. Hungry for dinner so when I ordered my first drink I also asked for a menu. Got the drink, didn't get the menu. The bartender I guess forgot.. It happens, I get it. 2nd drink, asked for a menu again. Got the drink, didn't get the menu. Maybe they don't serve food at the bar? No, looked around and others are eating at the bar. Bartenders seem very busy, but again, I look around and there really aren't a lot of people in. Bartenders seem to sortof ignore me, walk by, don't make any eye contact until the drink is nearly empty. 3rd drink.. I tell the bartender that I'd like another drink and would like to order food. I get the drink, get a menu and silverware, but that was that. They never came back to take an order.. 30 minutes go by before I flag someone down to ask for my tab. It is weird sitting at the bar and to be sortof ignored. I will probably stop back in for drinks but likely won't try to order any food again. read more

I would give Fat Willys on Baseline and Crismon more than five stars if I could. I recently hosted a Meet up event happy hour there. I had the Singles in Gilbert and the Mesa 50's and 60's groups gather for socializing. It was outstanding. Manager Angie, reserved the outdoor patio for our large group. The service was fantastic, Lead servers Naomi and Mattie were spot on and very gracious. They waited on us in a very timely manor. Truly professional ladies. The food and drink were truly outstanding. Anyone wanting to take a group of friends out for a wonderful evening, this is the place. I know we'll be going there again. read more
