Check out this place near my work, really excited for the boba I wish they can do rose, lavender and vanilla fix it on the milk tea. I chose black tea for it but unfortunately it was sour taste and I know rose and black tea goes well together. It's really different and made my stomach hurts.. the good thing the boba are chewy. 3/5 Nutella Waffle was good crispy and lots of Nutella. Really good!! 5/5 Claw machines are great while waiting for your food/drink. They have nice decorations feels like under the sea vibes! Staff are amazing and answer all my questions and friendly, great customer service!

Super cute little shop and smells of delicious garlic fries. Friendly customer service and timely. Ambiance is adorable and comforting. However, with all due respect; the milk tea was not good and stained my teeth :(

Omg yum! Cute boba cafe with anything you may be craving. Food was served hot and fresh and packaged nicely. Think of a Quickly but not a chain. Support local! Lady who took my order was friendly and I will be back!

    1. Hostess or wait time Zero wait time upon arrival. Cashier was semi-welcoming. After ordering, many middle/highschool students rushed in. 2. Service & Ambiance The Match Smoothie came out fast and didn't wait too long for the popcorn chicken. Interior is very pink and hipster. Even saw a cotton candy vending machine in the back ! 3. Food Popcorn chicken was on point! Crunchy and not super salty like other places I've been. 4. Plating & presentation of the dishes Everything was in to go plastic. 5. Price Popcorn chicken was definitely in the better pricing $6.75 Match Smoothie was $3.50

I am extremely disappointed. I ordered the taro smoothie as well as the fried tofu. They asked me if I wanted mild or spicy and of course I opted in the mild. Though it took a few minutes for the tofu to cook, and in the meantime, I was sipping on the taro smoothie. To my surprise, the drink was delicious. However, as soon as I got the tofu, it came with some salty brown sauce. It was almost too salty for my taste bud. I'm surprised they did not use sweet chili Thai sauce, like just about every other restaurant that sells fried tofu. Not impressed and definitely I would have to avoid their fried tofu in the future. they could even use hoisin sauce instead of whatever sauce they served with. I can't go higher than three star rating with this location. Lastly, The customer service needs to improve. When I entered the location, I felt like I was bothering them, especially the girl behind the cash register. Price: A Quality: C Service: C

I was picking something up for work and this place was located nearby. I had some spare time, so I decided to try this place out. There was no one inside and the only person who was there was a lady. I took sometime to look at the menu, but decided on my order. I have went here two times, so I will discuss each drink I had. Strawberry Kiwi Green Tea with Green Apple Jelly: The better of the two drinks I had. I asked for half sweet, which tasted fine to me. The green apple jelly did taste as advertised. Other than that, nothing really stood out to me. Strawberry Banana Smoothie: Dont get the smoothies. They taste powder based and I am not a huge fan of that. It did not taste like a real smoothie to me. Overall, it's an alright place. Haven't had the milk tea yet, and from reading others review, not sure if I will soon. Fruit tea was at least tolerable

Upon stepping into Fat Straw Cafe, I felt like I was transported right back to the early 2000's, going to HK and Taiwanese-style cafes as a kid when my mom decided to get us a little treat. With easy parking within a plaza and a spacious location with both indoor & outdoor seating, it's a menu/interior revamp away from being *the* trendy, cute place for drinks in the area. The service is friendly though there is, understandably, a little wait if you want food items, since they are prepared to order. Drinks: 3/5, pretty mediocre, a bit watery, and didn't taste too fresh; I would put them on the same tier as a drink from Quickly, probably. Not undrinkable, by any means, but not great. Plain bubble waffle ($4.75): 3/5, lacking the egg flavor that you'd normally expect from egg/bubble waffles; the batter was a little dry and tasted more like regular waffles. Popcorn chicken ($5.50): 5/5, delicious!! Crispy and flavorful but still tender inside, and super hot since it came straight out of the kitchen. Definitely amongst the better popcorn chicken I've had at a boba spot, especially in this area; it's a must-try if you're at Fat Straw. The old booths and boba posters actually add to the charm if you miss the kinds of spots that were around before boba shops became super trendy. However, there are improvements that could be made to some of the menu items-- while I don't need every cafe to be "Instagrammable", I do expect basics like regular milk tea with pearls to be a little better.

They're at the San Mateo County Fair serving cotton candy flowers. We ordered the blue circle with yellow flower. We got this instead. Owner gaslight me and starts yelling that it is blue. What a nice guy.

Unknown it will remain so when all shops open. Obviously, the interior is brand new, has the feel of a luxurious ballroom with some tables for seating. Unknowst to me, they weren't open for business, a private event was underway at the far end. Take out orders were permitted. Ordered. Paid. Food ready in 10ish minutes. Notice candy was available at table near entrance. Picked a Twix. Nearby, a table seen to be occupied by 2 ladies in fancy hats with dark dresses. Turns out they were mannequins celebrating Halloween. Offerings: Caribbean lunch plates, sandwiches, many kinds of teas, breakfast, sides, dessert, tea service. Only sandwiches available. Passed on tea. Didn't know i would manage tea to go. Bites: Jerk Chicken sandwich. Upgraded potato chips to bowl of fruit. Discovered later they rang up wrong item. I still got Jerk chicken sandwich. Fruits were comped. Figured out receipt later. -2 pieces of jerk chicken fitted diameter of the bun. Chicken was slightly spicy, semi-tender. Slight mayo smear on bun. Food traveled well. -the potato chips that was to upgraded to fruits were the commercial type, not housemade. Not crispy. Almost stale. -the fruits (pineapple, blueberry, strawberry, grapes) were fresh. Juicy, deliz. 4ish stars. Semi-worthy. Quality: very good except for fries (which I wasn't suppose to get) Quantity: reasonable. *tea service-reservations recommended.

The atmosphere on a Sunday at 11am was peaceful and quiet. The decor and table settings are beautiful. By noon, a couple of other parties arrived. I appreciated the extensive tea menu and ended up choosing the cherry marzipan which was delightful. The scone had a nice, balanced texture. I enjoyed the curried chicken tea sandwich and the tomato soup of the day. I forgot about the dessert portion by the end and was comfortably full by the time it arrived. The dessert portion was a nice way to end a fun tea service as it was light and just the right amount of sweet. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying out the Caribbean lunch plates!

We came during their holiday special time so we were treated with items that I believe aren't on the typical menu. This was our first time visiting which I've been asking my husband to do for awhile. We were seated next to the door which I wasn't too much of a fan of because when it opened I could feel the breeze come in. Luckily it only happened a few times in the beginning. The inside has so many cute items placed around from tea pots to cups to small trinkets you can purchase. We tried about four different teas during our visit, two hot and two cold. We had Pretty Pink Princess, crème brûlée, tropical and I think pear. I can't remember the last one exactly. I enjoyed the crème brûlée warm the best topped with a little sugar cube and a splash of cream. It's cute that each table gets different tea pots and cups. Even on our table both were different too. I enjoyed the lemon curd, strawberry preserves and whipped cream mixed together with my biscuit as the starter. The tower included from bottom to top Cucumber sandwich, egg sandwich and chicken sandwich Meatball with mash and a cranberry topping, shrimp and steak, onion cheese pastry Chocolate macaron, cherry cupcake, chocolate mousse, fruit tartlet and fresh fruit I may have mixed up a few items because there was so much to eat and I didn't have a menu to take a photo of. I enjoyed each layer of food offerings we had but my favorites were the simple cucumber sandwich and the chocolate mousse. When we first got the tower I thought to myself that it wasn't going to be enough food but let me tell you it was! Of course you're paying a lot for the experience but I didn't need to go eat after we left so overall it was a great experience so it was a nice surprise.
