Anyone have the name of a good cardiologist? I definitely need one after this visit! They are open REALLY LATE on Saturdays so drink up and then go stuff yourself!!! This place is in a little strip center off the square. You walk in and immediately the menu is to the left on the wall, and the counter to order is right in front of you. There is a strip of a few booths on the left side, but there is a whole dining room to the right of the counter. The guy at the counter on this particular Sat. night was wearing his "I love fat doobies" t-shirt over his dinosaur onesie. It was awesome (see my photos). Excellent customer service. They are honest about their products and great at making recommendations. We got a couple of sandwiches to go for my older boys (a "fat doobie" and a "fat slob"). They said they still tasted good even from the ride from Denton to Aubrey. My other kiddo ordered the Travel Channel recommended "Fat Cow" which had mac & cheese and bacon among other things, I got the fried mac & cheese with their buffalo ranch dipping sauce (yum), and my wife ordered the Food Network recommended "Fat Shack" their namesake sandwich. These sandwiches have everything but the kitchen sink. Mozzarella sticks, onion rings, cheesesteak, chicken fingers, etc. They also have bbq sauce with jalapenos (i think they call it the golden bbq sauce). It's really good too. We also (stupidly) ordered fries smothered in cheese sauce. They were amazing but who needs that in addition to all the other stuff?? Apparently we did. As we were leaving we got our to go order complete with the fried cheesecake, fried oreos, and fried twinkies. If I died, I would have died happy that night. The sandwiches were amazing, the amount of food is just ridiculous and more than one person could eat - even the small, and was great. It didn't make me feel like I was dying after I ate it, so that's an added bonus. They also have normal burgers if you want to be boring....we will definitely go back when the boys want to go out and get something "bad" for us. It may be bad for us, but it's oh so goooood! This place is not for the faint of heart. Or those with clogged arteries...but it would make a GREAT place to have a cheat meal! If you're looking for a place to pig out to and not care about being healthy, then this is the place. They put a bunch of different things into a sandwich and it's pretty good. This is your typical "drunk food" right here. They are open really late, so it's a good late night meal. Make sure you save room for dessert, it's worth it. I've been to this restaurant twice and I'll start by saying the customer service is very average but the menu is very unique. I think the average customer service is due to the fact that many of the orders are delivered. The times I was there, it seemed like the small staff was busy taking orders over the phone causing a delay on the start of my order. Fat Shack is in a college town so I believe they're catering mainly to the students but don't let this stop you from going. I went during lunch time and there were other grown ups like me :) I just want people to know that I wasn't treated like a princess when I went there but the fun menu makes up for that! This place is an indecisive pregnant woman's dream come true!! I originally went for the burger but once I saw the fat sandwich options it was a no brainer! I got the Fat jersey (philly cheesesteak, chicken tenders, cheese sticks, fries ) it was a huge sandwich and omg so good!! And, I highly recommend trying the fat doobie and the deep fried Oreos as your first meal there ( I also suggest splitting it with a friend, it's a lot of food to eat by yourself). Most people like to rate based off service, but I'm going to talk about the quality of the food and the overall experience. My husband found this place on Google. There's food on the floor and tables and flies inside. It looks like there's only one guy working there, the manager. He was a very nice man. I give him 4 stars for friendly service. I hesitantly order with my husband and we go sit in the booths with rips in their seats and the place smelling like old food and cleaning supplies. The curtain to the back is open so I can see their food storage and it's just not my thing. The big bean bag was cool, but you're not gonna catch me sitting on that. I can see it being a good place for 22 year olds to go after drinking heavily at the bar. Now, the food. Not good. I wanted it to be good. It all tasted like cleaning products, wasn't very hot, and just tasted like I left it in the fridge overnight and popped it in the microwave. I wish the sandwiches came with some fresh produce in them in addition to all of the fried and cheesy things it comes with. Even the fountain drinks had a taste to it...husband says chlorine. I still say cleaning supplies taste. To everything. My husband thought it was decent, he ate his food and thought "perfect college hangover food". Kitchen was very visible and I could see that cleanliness standards and staff food handling standards are below par. Staff did not demonstrate they cared I was there and were more interested in resuming the conversation I interrupted. Nearly $15.00 for a large cheesesteak sandwich that didn't have much flavor and the roll was not fresh (looked store bought. Baffles me why this when Ravelin bakery is within 2 block distance). Other ingredients for sandwich looked like mass market versus deli fresh). Wait time was 10 minutes for a to go order. I do not recommend this place. Value for money isn't here. Many better offerings around Denton that you should try than this place. For an eatery in a college town, they should be killing it. But with bad service, too expensive for the "lower" types of food offerings, and a space desperately in need of a Robert Irvine or Gordon Ramsey overhaul, Fat Shak needs to be replaced with something muuuuch better. read more

So here's the deal. If your stoned, anything on this menu is good. But their hidden gems are their burgers. I would give them five stars if they just focused on burgers. It's the perfect size. The lettuce and tomatoes are fresh. I added bacon which is crispy the way I like it. I also added fried onion rings which were thin, crispy and delicious. The burgers are never frozen; put together by hand and marinated in house gives it a backyard grill taste which I love. Their house sauce is delicious( the secret is pickle juice ).
