We went to this place around 9am on a Sunday and was able to get a table for 4 right away. I was impressed by their variety of breakfast options at this restaurant. The waitresses were friendly here and there are lots of decor of dogs hence the name! My friend and I shared the joon bug which is black bean cakes, roasted poblanos, tomato, poached eggs, hollandaise and Cash's favorite which is fried green tomatoes, pulled pork, poached eggs, sriracha hollandaise. Both dishes were delicious and flavorful!! We also had a side of the corn beef hash which was very good! My husband had the special which was Chinese bbq sausage and eggs with Kim chi, potatoes, scallions, cilantro, fried shallots, and sriracha aioli which was also delicious!! This is definitely a wonderful breakfast place with an eclectic option of food!! The restaurant is quite small, so it got busy by the time we left. What a pleasant surprise we stumbled upon this place and was pleased that we went in wow a breakfast burger was fantastic, my husband had the Dundee breakfast sandwich which we thought was supposed to have Bacon but was honey ham which gave it a unique taste. The food is absolutely delicious! However, the service is horrible. If you don't order early then consider them closed 2 hours before what it says. They will not pick up the phone or even take your order in person. Got there a hour before they closed and they rudely rejected me at the door. They need a better system for taking orders and not just taking the phone off the hook. read more

What a gem! So delighted to find this happening little space. It's always a huge plus when the owner is busting it in the kitchen, and this guy was rocking it solo with just a dishwasher. Great vibes from the staff and you can tell by the decor that these people just know how to have a good time. Corned beef hash seemed to be started out boiled dinner style, as the potatoes were soft and delicious with flavors of beef! It's always a real treat when you order hash and you're not presented with a pile of dog food. The Captain's French Toast was a fun, tasty rendition of a classic. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfect. The Perro Gordo was a very well done version of huevos rancheros. Homemade salsa was on point and you can never go wrong adding chorizo to this breakfast classic. You can tell the owner cares about his craft, as you can taste it in every bite. The server was mobbed, but did an outstanding job of checking on us and making sure our coffees stayed full. Food or service didn't suffer one bit on a busy Saturday. Best breakfast in recent memory. I had "The Nittany" which was amazing. She got "The Abby" and the corned beef was absolutely delicious. Hotcakes were on point. Service was great and the décor was particularly pleasing to this Minnesotan, as many of the characters and toys on display were Minnesota treasures! The menu isn't the biggest but it has everything you'd expect for a small dinner. Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious. I'm not a fan of home fries but their were pretty good. You can tell that they focus on higher quality food that is made fresh. Our server was very nice and quick to bring our order. It's also nice that they have a wide variety of hot sauces. Inconsistent and we won't be back. Here's why: The first time we ate here my husband and I both had delicious breakfasts. We each had one of their benedicts (I had the fried green tomato and pulled pork benny and he had a plain benny) and everything we received was cooked well and very tasty. They actually season their homefries! We couldn't wait to go back and indeed two weekends later we were back and both ordered the same thing. This time, however, the eggs on our benedicts were not cooked enough, still runny/jelly whites of the eggs. My husband and I are not the type to send food back, but the eggs were so uncooked we simply could not eat them, nor was it a dish that we could eat around them. The staff was very gracious and apologetic and we got the impression that they really did feel bad about what happened. The chef actually came out to our table to apologize. They did not have enough pulled pork left to make another plate of my benedict so I changed my order to the Fat Elvis and oh boy was that a deliciously decadent breakfast. And let's be honest, it's really what I wanted to order all along, I was just trying to make a healthier choice but, alas fate intervened. We left feeling great about this place and knew we would be back. Because mistakes happen and they handled this one well. The very next weekend we returned, this time with two friends. I thought I'd branch out and order something different this time and tried the Perro Gordo, a kind of Mexican breakfast with corn tortillas, black beans, cheese, and fried eggs. The plate arrived and I was disappointed to say the least. The entire plate was a soggy mess, as if someone scooped the beans without draining the liquid, which only serves to water the whole plate down and turn the corn tortillas into wet soggy unappetizing discs. And imagine my surprise when for a second weekend in a row the eggs arrived and the whites were not cooked through. I was too embarrassed to send the plate back for uncooked eggs for a second time in a row so I ate some black beans and had some cherry tomatoes from my friend's plate. And the thing is, even if I sent the eggs back, the rest of the plate so so watered down it wasn't a plate of food that I would want to eat. The staff here is great and the first two experiences we had were positive. I just can't help but think that if you are going to be a breakfast place, you really need to know how to cook eggs. If I could be convinced to come back here, I'd either order French toast or pancakes or something with scrambled eggs. Benedict eaters beware. read more

Seriously, hands down the best breakfast I've paid for in a long while. I had brought my son in once before and he wanted to come back because it's funny to watch him turn red from asking for the "Big DAMN Burrito" which he absolutely loves. He's 8 now and I have no doubt he'll be dropping F-bombs by the time he is 16 but its still funny watching him struggle to "swear" in front of his parents. My meal was amazing. After a hard time deciding what to try (not for lack of options, but because everything looked so good), my husband went with the Perro Gordo and I went with the Joon Bug. We're both vegetarians, and there were plenty of choices.
