June cork used to be a fav but each visit we felt like the food quality kept dipping. We took our son and he had loved the place in the past. We only went because he requested it. We'd had too many disappointing meals and had written this place off. We ordered items that should have been easy. My son who will eat literally anything passed on his meal. For a slightly late lunch, a friend and I went to The June Cork Pub, eager to try out their Bri'ish food. On a President's Day Monday at 1pm, the establishment seemed at just under half occupancy. I thought I needed to wait for seating, but staff said I could pick any table and they'd head over shortly. My friend and I ordered the sausage roll ($12) and scotch egg ($13) appetizers to share, and I ordered the bangers and mash ($19) entree for myself. The sausage roll, cut up into 6 slightly larger than bite-sized pieces, consisted of flaky and buttery pastry with herbal, earthy, and slightly crumbly sausage out of its casing. Imaging homemade breakfast sausage, but less sweet and more sharp. The accompanying brown mustard provided a nice contrast, yet remained relatively mellow. It also came with a bit of field greens so I could pretend to be healthy. The scotch egg arrived as a textbook example of a softboiled egg with a yammy yolk. The outer sausage shell tasted similar to that of the sausage roll. The accompanying chili jam cut down on the savoriness just a touch; it melded tart, spiciness, and sweetness yet also remained mellow, not overpowering the egg. My entree, the bangers and mash, proved exceptional. The peas were some of the brightest, most vibrant, juicy and crisp peas I'd ever had. Each one had just a slight burst at the bite. The caramelized onions adorning the mash had been browned down a long time, like what you'd expect in French onion soup. The mash itself, made from red potatoes, tasted robust and rich without being overly dense or overly reliant on butter (not shaming butter, but these potatoes deserve to shine, not drowned out). The bangers themselves possessed crisp, taunt casings with juicy interiors. I would almost describe it as "fresh" in the same way I would describe high-quality vegetables. Weird, but I don't know how else to express this sentiment. Service was a bit slow, probably from the Monday holiday. Since it was technically a weekday, I was able to order $4.5 bud lite drafts from the happy hour menu (Mon-Fri 1-230pm). Overall, I walked away quite impressed from what was me randomly picking a place to get lunch after being at White Birch Armories at opening to beat the range wait. read more

Visited the June Cork Pub for the first time last week. Wanted to try their fish and chips, which I tend to order frequently. There are many places that have good fish and chips on the seacoast, and it's hard to find a place that makes a bad one. However the June Cork Pub's stand out as one of, if not the best Fish and Chips I've ever had! The mushy peas were also a delicious surprise that paired so well with the fish. The British pub vibe also added to the whole experience. This will become my go to place for fish and chips from now on. read more

Kudos to this unknown-to-us place for taking in a large day after a wedding crowd. We chose it because it was near the hotel and had good reviews here. Service was fantastic. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. They were accommodating to the children in the group, too We all enjoyed our brunch food. Some had breakfast foods and others had lunch. The portions were good. No consideration of a phone call was given to inform us that the reservation had to be cancelled. Loved it here. My partner and I took my cousin and her boyfriend out for dinner, and it was the perfect place to spend an evening. There were no soccer (ahem football) games on, so it was quieter than I assume it would normally be, which was good for talking. They have a classic English pub menu with plenty of options, even for vegetarians and vegans (well--not a ton of options, but enough to have choices). The drink menu is also fantastic. We got two pretzels to split, and I got fish & chips. The full fish & chips is FULL; those suckers are large. Beware your stomach! We visited for the first time today. We started off with the corned beef rolls-I swear, we could have made an entire meal off of a couple of plates of them. Our entrees were just not well executed and we spoke with the waitress about them. Within moments, we were approached by the kitchen and she offered to make us something else. The new dishes were amazing. I was excited to bring home those leftovers. A complimentary dessert was brought to us, a slice of flourless chocolate torte with a raspberry coulis. It was heavenly. Food was okay, nothing spectacular but we were going for the fish and chips. Service was good, gave a 26% tip because the waitress was polite, attentive, offered suggestions and thought the service was worth the tip. Issue is with the ink from their pens (originally thought it was the ink on the table) that transferred onto my newly purchased, 3hr old, $65 sweatshirt that I bought from Chaos and Kindness at their show that evening. I noticed it on my sweatshirt when we got home after dining there and noticed the ink spot on my credit card as well. Wasn't there before I called the restaurant that evening at 7:37pm 1/14/24 and left a message. Got to speak with Manager, Dan 5 days later because he never returned my call, who said i would Not be getting reimbursed since waitress asked me if we wanted to move. Her and I touched the ink spots on the table and they were dry. Never thought it was on my credit card til 3 days later when I went to use it, there it was.... Pretty sad when a restaurant won't pay for an item they ruined with one of their pens. Note to restaurant, get new pens!!! read more

My son and I decided to try the June Cork restaurant on a busy Saturday, and had no reservation. We were lucky enough to be seated quickly, which was appreciated. The server took our drink order and returned to the counter and began working the register. As time went by, I sensed she had forgotten and went to the counter to ask. She admitted that she had forgotten. After some time, we received the drinks and she returned to the counter. I had to return to the counter to ask if we could place our order. My son had a breakfast plate and he said it was "ok." The potatoes were very dry. I had a shepherd's pie that was fairly good, but not return worthy good. I had to chase down the server to get a bill and again to pay it at the counter. The restaurant itself is considered a British pub style - but I have been to British pubs and the June Cork is not as intimate and friendly. It is quite loud, with tvs everywhere - which if you're ok with that, enjoy. My son and I had to shout to hear one another speak, which left me feeling exhausted by the experience. I will stick to Cara's on 3rd Street from now on for that intimate pub dining experience with excellent live music. read more

Super nice service from "Girl from Temecula" Sons grilled cod (super fresh) Fish and Chips thumbs up. dtrs Caesar salad thumbs up. My pork with veggies and Mac yummy . Peach cobbler had to pack. I'm not from England nor have I ever visited so I can't really tell you what an authentic British pub should look like but what I can tell you is that I'm so happy we came upon on this little gem. Came up to the area to visit our daughter at UNH. Waitstaff was very friendly and we loved the cozy pub feel . Fish and chips , Beet salad and the Shepard's pie all winners . I ordered fried mushrooms when they came out the breading was not sticking to them in the mushrooms were a little black(after working in restaurants for 16 years, I should've known there was something wrong) after consuming two or three mushrooms in about 30 minutes later I started getting violently sick projectile vomiting in their bathroom. I did not stop puking for 24 hours. I had to go to the hospital and get two bags of IVs because I was so dehydrated. I'm ready to bring you my hospital bill.! read more

Full disclosure, I am a devout Englishman so there was no way I was giving these lads a bad review. Love this place. The whole place is properly Britted out; footie jerseys everywhere, flags, cheeky Guiness signs with that fooking bird, the lot! I was chuffed to find our table was a St. George's Cross flag, it's like they knew I was coming. Food was tip top as well. Portions were huge, waitress was nice we had a blinder. My only issues here were I would like to see more English stuff on the menu and the mushy pea. It was not mushy. It was more like someone took a can of delmontes, dumped them on the grill and cooked them to shite. It's by the by though, this place is the bees knees. Awesome place! I went here with a huge group and was pleased to see a huge table with a sign that said "reserved". I have never felt more appreciated in my life. The waiter was very funny and accommodating, making sure my friend got her Diet Coke at his earliest convenience. I loved the vibe in this place, and we all had laughs. I've been to the June Cork Pub twice now - once for brunch and once for lunch. The food was excellent, as was the service and the decor. It does feel like you are in a British pub. The drinks are very good as well, and the portions are quite filling. Both of the servers we had were friendly and efficient. The pricing is inline with other local establishments, and there is a good-sized parking lot (by Dover standards). The Pub's proximity to the train station (literally next door) makes it ideal for a post-commute drink I did not deduct points from the pub for the following, but I do think it is important to note. While I look forward to many meals at the June Cork Pub, they will be post-COVID. During both my visits I noted employees not wearing masks including one younger man who is either the owner or a manager, running around the dining room completely maskless. The older gentleman in the kitchen was also maskless (and frequently stepped into the dining room), and the woman behind the bar kept pulling hers down. It made me question how seriously cleaning protocols were being taken behind the scenes, if masks weren't being taken seriously in front of patrons. It should be noted that all servers appeared to be wearing masks and kept them on. If masks and COVID protocols aren't something that concern you, then no worries. I recommend the June Cork Pub for both its food and its ambiance. But there are lots of equally good places to eat in Dover that have much stricter practices, and go above the bare minimum of the state guidelines. Overall an excellent addition to Dover, and I look forward to patronizing this establishment again once things normalize. read more

The restaurant is fresh and inviting whether you're enjoying lunch or later for a more lively pub experience! It is really neat that it's right next to the Nor'easter railway and has onsite parking. Went for Brunch at 1:15. Was told we can't order food for 40 minutes while they switch from Brunch till Lunch. Brunch is advertised from 10 til 2pm. Drove all the way there and had to leave could not order anything but drinks for 40 minutes. Management is a joke. Cool pub atmosphere, but the food is overpriced and the portions are tiny. I got a $14 Beet salad entree that took me 2 minutes to eat and left me absolutely starving. My girlfriend got the $18 garlic rosemary chicken entree which was the plainest chicken, broccoli, and rice I've ever seen. Rice out of my rice cooker at home is 100 times better.
