Not a good one tonight. Both of us had the country fried chicken. It's four pieces. The two large pieces were cold in the middle. I finally caught the server's eye after 40 minutes. She returned the chicken to the kitchen. It came back 10 minutes later. It was the same chicken. I didn't know that right away because I received my wife's chicken and she received mine. This time it was burnt. The meat was dry as dust. When the server saw me throw my napkin on my plate she came over and asked if we wanted another drink. I got the check and debated how long we should wait for her to come back for the credit card. I put cash on the table and left. Some things are hit or miss. Tonight this was a miss. It's a watering hole with food options for those who get hungry while drinking. It's a small location with minimal tables. It's not some place you would go to just for the food. Not kid friendly based on the crowd, tables and ambiance. Most of the food is brought in frozen and heated up to serve. While some appetizers were ok, it was obvious that they were frozen products and heated to serve when ordered. Service was subpar, to say the least. Not attentive and was more interested with sitting on a chair in the corner talking with patrons at the bar. When I asked for a copy of the receipt, which I had to go to her chair she was sitting on to ask for it, it appears it was too much to ask for and out of the norm as I was given a big sigh followed by an angry face and a big eye roll. Common words like "thank you", "hello", etc., are non-existent. The only time we saw her smile or be interactive was when she was sitting on her chair talking with the patrons at the bar. read more

Went to this tavern for the second time. The atmosphere was blah. The bartenders were more worried about phones than attending to there customers. There was a blonde bartender that doesn't not have good customer service. No smile no thank you have a nice day. I got takeout from this place yesterday. I don't know where these raving reviews came from, presumably from friends of the owners. I spent $40 on a large steak tip sub, Sriracha Tacos, and a haddock dinner. I got the steak tip sub in large part because of the photo someone else had placed in a review. The sub I got looked nothing like it. Tiny pieces of overcooked (I had requested medium rare) steak, and the carmelized onions were like plastic as whoever prepared them didn't remove the outer skin. I was still hungry after I ate it and cooked another dinner soon after. The tacos were tiny, tasteless, barely any chicken, and did not come with the fries as requested. The haddock was passable but no tartar sauce or ketchup for the french fries. I used to go to this place years ago when it was really good and the owner was trying to make a name for himself, (good guy). To say this place went downhill, at least for me, is an understatement. My son just moved into town and we discovered that most of the better restaurants were at least 15 minutes away. The landlord recommend this place and we are happy to report she was spot on. Very good food, fair prices and quick service. We ordered ahead on a Sunday afternoon and picked up within 15 minutes. Place was really busy for that time of day in a kinda out of the way spot. Friends and I who work in the area we like the food; however, the take out is a problem. Over that past month and a half we have probably ordered at least twice a week. Without fail every single time we have had something wrong with the order. We have tried to address it several times without any real results. We have ordered extra pickles, not gotten them but paid for them. Orders messed up, sauces not included that should have been in the order. Sides constantly missing and it goes on. I much prefer to give my business to small business, but unfortunately I don't see us going back there. I went in on a whim this evening and I had an overall great experience. The outside appearance has always attracted me but it was never the right time. Tonight I was too hungry to make it to Dover so my boyfriend and I stopped in for a bite to eat. I got the club and I must say that the pickles they gave me were superb (the sandwich was delicious too). My boyfriend got a burger with cole slaw, pulled pork and onion rings on it, I had a bite and was slightly jealous! This place has some great food! I of course had a burger and beer. The tap selection is good and the burger was excellent. It did not appear to be one of the previously frozen pre-made patty type either. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star rating is because the burger was a bit over cooked. The 207 Tavern has a super fun and inviting atmosphere. It's rustic and sporty. It has a bar area with large TV's and high-tops for dining.
