The Beer is amazing. The food as well. The coolest atmosphere to hang and chill. We loved the wings. Out of this world!

Great beer, great food, great vibes! An excellent spot for some laid back dinner and beers, and the outdoor area is so nice. I really enjoyed my Korean beef bowl, and my kids enjoyed the donkeys and chickens they could look at. They have a kids menu and nobody minds if you're loud!

    Poutine thats not

We decided to come here tonight as it has been awhile. We were wanting somewhere with good ambience and outside atmosphere as it was extremely nice weather. We were seated quickly outside with great atmosphere in the evening weather. It took a little bit for us to be served, but our server was very friendly. The drinks were par with a brewery and cocktails were on par with the brewery. we asked our server about the poutine and she said it was great. We both got the burgers in which I asked for mine rare. We waited approximately 25 minutes for poutine which came with ourmain meal. We immediately got into the poutine and quickly found out it was not poutine. There was hard chunks of cheese and just french fries covered in curry sauce. Theburger was unimpressive and did not have a lot of flavor. Both my wife and I decided this place would be good for drinks and ambience out side.

Throwback a is an awesome brewery with great beer and delicious food. The setting is beautiful and the staff is always friendly. The patio is exceptionally dog friendly and my pup loves it. We've never had any food item that wasn't great but my favorite is the Korean wings. Low key probably the best wings in the sea coast.

    Ambiance!

Nice pub with some great food…read more I got the Haddock Sandwich ($17 as of 5/2026) which was light and crispy. Haddock was cooked perfectly and the fries that came with it were great (I enjoyed their honey mustard which you can request on the side). Their chicken sandwiches also looked awesome and I'd give that a go the next time I was here.

We visited on Friday night and sat at a table as the bar seating was pretty packed. Crowd was pretty chill - a mixture of people in their 20's having drinks & apps, and then older couples/families enjoying dinner. We were happy to see Smithwicks on the draft menu, and we also got a Downeast cider with a caramel/cinnamon rim. We ordered the house made mozzarella sticks, which were ginormous, crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and all around delicious. We all opted with different types of burgers - sliders, fried chicken, and a pub burger. All were served with fries and were perfectly cooked. The coating on my fried chicken was crispy and flavorful. Service was awesome - our glasses were never left empty! Best of all, Dwyers has a free jukebox packed with favorites. Looking forward to coming back on our next visit to Portsmouth - we'll definitely be trying the deviled eggs, wings, and fried oreos!

The quality is consistently good, and the portions and pricing offer great value. It's also become a solid spot to catch a game, with a reasonably lively atmosphere and good overall "vibe". That said, one aspect of the experience has consistently stood out in a negative way. On nearly every visit, I've interacted with the same middle-aged server/bartender, and unfortunately his attitude has been noticeably unfriendly and dismissive. He often comes across as irritated or as though he would rather be anywhere else, especially when serving larger groups. It creates an uncomfortable experience that contrasts pretty sharply with the otherwise positive environment. After reading other reviews, it seems I'm not the only person who has had this impression. It's disappointing because the improvements to the food and atmosphere have made the place much more enjoyable overall. I'd honestly be much more inclined to return regularly if the service experience were more welcoming and consistent...

It's small, yet crowded, which speaks to the food and popularity of this downtown bar. And it's accessible, even if the the majority of tables are not. Service is ok, but for a small place it's to be expected. The food selection is ok, but nothing to go writing to mom about. You come for the atmosphere and the company, not the plethora of food options. I ordered the clam chowder just to wash down the alcohol.
