Loaded Question is a very welcoming space for its human and canine patrons (thought the canines are requested to stay in the outside area). It can be a tight fit on a busy afternoon. There's quite a few seats at the bar, a number of smaller tables, and high tables searing 6-8 in the back as well as seating along the wall. There's a cabinet of games should you have the space and interest. Even on a busy afternoon, service was quick and friendly. Most of the folks in my group sampled and enjoyed their coffee porter, but there's a nice variety for all interests. Finding the brewery the first time might be a little difficult without navigation, because the building and parking lot are back a short distance from the road. read more

Nice micro brewery tucked in the back of an old factory. Nice selection of their own creations from the light to heavy and from standard Pilsner beer to fruity and exotic. Loaded Question has a very nice venue with this taproom. It was not all too busy when I visited, but I imagine as the season goes on it is a great place to visit. The beer selection covers a wide variety of styles. I had a belgian blonde that I enjoyed, but many of their IPAs are very popular in the area and I'm sure taste even better on tap. The taproom is on the outskirts of Portsmouth, a worthy stop for any craft beer enthusiast. read more

Out of all of the breweries in Portsmouth, Loaded Question continues to be my favorite. Just on the outskirts of town, Loaded Question is located in an industrial facility where they have a small, quaint taproom. They also have an outdoor venue with picnic tables and heat lamps. Loaded Question consistently has a variety of brews ranging from IPAs, lagers, sours, saisons, and British brews. I tend to be more of a sour and IPA guy, and honestly, I haven't had a beer that I didn't like at Loaded Question. Their Sparkletoes IPA is my typical go-to, however, they have also been doing a kettle-sour series which I have loved. The passionfruit sour has been a favorite of mine. Definitely a brewery worth checking out when you are in the Portsmouth area! read more

What an interesting literal hole in the wall place. My husband and I came to check out this place earlier in the week and were pleasantly surprised to see a good amount of people also there! When you first go in you're not too sure if you're about to be in an episode of forensic files or if you're going to find a hidden gem. I'll tell you- it's an unpolished gem! It's definitely not fancy, and the beer isn't blow-your-mind great but it's 100% worth the trip. There are many options so you're bound to find something you will want to try. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking. We will be back- primarily to show our friends. read more

On a weekend trip in Maine I was determined to visit this brewery that is not known unless you're a local. Came here on one of the hardest pouring rain day of the year and the parking lot was flooded with a few inches of water. That didn't deter me from getting in the entrance. I love the warehouse vibe as I walk down the long hall in anticipation of walking in to the tap room. The tap room was cozy and the decors are lovely. The selection isn't vast but they have varieties. I'm a big IPA fan and my partner a sour beer fanatic and this place satisfied my thirst. Thumbs up from me. read more

Small, in the middle of random places entrance. But what you get inside is well worth it and almost shameful it isn't somewhere more in plain site. 2 friends open a brewery and serve which will remain my newest fav beer. I love Guinness which is an acquired taste for sure. For years its all I drink during fall and winter, mostly because how heavy it is. Loaded ? has a brew called "So Oats" that I hate to admit but is better than Guinness. It has almost the same flavor, but So Oats is a lil more flavorful, lighter, and def not as filling. I bought a lil jug and wish I got so many more. My only issue here is they only sell locally which means I will be taking some random trips there just to buy this. I tried stretching it out but no lie I left and started drinking my growler. Unbelievably good. They have 4 beers on tap right now and really you cant go wrong with any of them. read more

Was happy to try out Loaded Question Brewery with my SIL. Nice tap room with bar & table searing. There is an area in the back with a tv and video games surrounded by comfy chairs. We enjoyed 2 drafts each. The bartender was helpful and let us taste the beer before we committed to a full pour. I enjoyed the Tipsy Monk, a yummy Pale Ale and The Tartan, a nice English Porter. Paul also liked the Tipsy Monk and a New England IPA called Just Lucky. The food menu is limited to Chips and Salsa, 2 kinds of Nachos and a spicy pulled pork sandwich. I look forward to returning to the brewery to try more of their drafts. read more

Stopped in today (Saturday) for an afternoon brewery run to pick up some growlers. First stop the excellent Throwback Brewery in North Hampton, NH - second stop Loaded Question. Cool location hidden in an old warehouse. Entered to find two people at corner of the small beer and bartender chatting with them. Sat down and waited several minutes to be acknowledged while she continued her conversation. When she finally came over I told her that I was going to purchase a growler but wasn't sure what kind of beer. She graciously offered that she could supply samples. I got a sample of the Holiday Ale which was outstanding while she went back to her private conversation for another five minutes. When she came back I said I'd love to try an IPA, and she poured me another sample (mediocre at best) and when I was able to get her attention again in the 3-person crowd at the bar I asked for a growler of Holiday Ale. She nodded and a few minutes later remembered that I had ordered a growler after tearing herself away from the more important 2/3 of the crowd. Finally got the growler after the other two left and paid $20 bill - received five $1 bills and still left a buck for a tip. Asked if I could get a quick sample of the East Coast IPA before I left (I figured that it'd been so long and I was alone I might as well give it a try) she poured me a large sample and said "That'll be $2.50". When I said I just wanted a sample she responded that "that's a taster, it's $2.50". Stupidly I tossed two bucks down on top of her dollar tip and left without touching the " taster". Place has potential and will try again but if the same bartender is working I will most definitely turn around and leave. The next two stops in Kittery were outstanding. Happened to see this place located on the map app on the phone. Go glad! The girls loved The Orange Peel Incident Belgian and I really enjoyed the TGIPA New England IPA. Tucked back in the corner (which is where you find a lot of good breweries) this is a surprisingly light and open bar. It seems well favored by the locals and offers a great selection of beer, even for those of us who are happier with a less hoppy beer. They had a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout that was. Impressively delicious. Also the only place I have seen that uses baking pans to deliver the beer flight. read more

my husband and i happened upon Loaded Question while we were in Portsmouth for the weekend. a little outside of downtown, this is a really nice spot in an industrial space. while i wasn't in love with the beers (just not my taste, personally), the service was extremely friendly and genuine; we felt very welcomed. this is a pretty small operation, and they were out of the beers i might have been interested in trying, though that's a natural occurrence at a smaller brewery. if you are in the area, i would definitely recommend stopping in and trying a few beers. it's a really fun, open space, with a friendly atmosphere. read more

Wow what a spot. Like other reviews say, it's a little hard to find but well worth it once you do. Really cool vibe once you get inside (cool artwork on the wall, wood bar/tables, brew list written on a chalkboard) and super friendly staff. Not to mention how tasty the beers were!! We got the flight of six, each one was extremely unique in style and flavor but all delicious, so this brewery has range (versus others who may specialize in IPAs and make a crappy lager on the side). This place has only been open 8 weeks. We stopped in for a flight of what they had on tap. They only had 4, but they were all very good. The Sparkly Toes IPA was very very good. No real food there, but you should stop in for a beer. Great service, fun location. read more

As I write this review I know I am potentially messing up a great little secret in Portsmouth. Loaded Questions is out of the way and a little hard to find, but that is part of its charm. It is also putting out some of the best beer in the seacoast. If you are an IPA fan they have you covered in spades. Not an IPA fan - or just believe there is other beer out there - they have you covered there too. When you walk in you feel like you have just gotten access to some secret clubhouse - it is amazing. The beer is pretty mediocre. I did enjoy the Wildling Sustenance. Otherwise the "NE-style" IPAs were too hoppy for my taste, and there was a musty taste to some of the other beers. Cute place with great decor, but beer falls short. read more
