My daughter and I had a great experience here. The bagels are fantastic! They claim the bagels are "kettle-boiled", which makes the inside kind of chewy. The crust is a little tough but with a nice al dente "chew" that is very nice. I have not had this type of bagel before (only the toasty, bready kind) and I thought it was marvelous. Definitely unique and something I look forward to trying again. I got a simple poppy seed bagel and a schmear of cream cheese, but they have a wide variety of bagels and schmears that should satisfy everyone. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The bagels came out quickly. The coffee was fresh and hot. The room is a little tight. Not a lot of space to camp out and work but it wasn't crowded even though they were busy. I am not a connoisseur of bagels but I loved the one I got here. Definitely will go back for more. read more

A must stop forsure! We stayed in flagstaff for a weekend and my family made it a daily stop all weekend for the delicious coffee and so many bagel options. The drive thru option is amazingly convenient and we did this on the day we planned an early drive to the Grand Canyon. They have a variety of coffee options and milk alternatives Service is amazingly efficient both drive thru and inside. The staff was great and I will be recommending this place to anyone I know forever. Ps. If you are a fan of blueberry, I 100% recommend blueberry cream cheese on a blueberry bagel. The service is quick and friendly. I had the lox bagel sandwich. I was thrown off by cucumber with lox but all in all, it was yummy. My partner had the Philly steak sandwich and boy howdy! It was very flavorful and had a great cheese pull! I will definitely be back to try their other sandwiches. Okay so I've been coming here on and off ever since they opened. I am compelled to write this review today because this is one of the worst breakfasts I've had in flagstaff. We came in wed 9/16. The restaurant was empty. The girl who took our order looked confused that my wife wanted a sandwich on a bagel and not 9 grain bread. At a bagel shop. She also wanted to add schmear to it. Not an unusual request, I think. The register girl had to go ask if it was okay for my wife to order this, and how to punch it into the computer. I ordered a bagel with LIGHT cream cheese and a coffee like I always do. It came out with an absurd amount of cream cheese on it like it always does. It also was barely toasted. When I brought it to the counter to ask for it to be toasted, the same girl who took our order said "oh all our bagels come toasted" and just stared at me like it wasn't her problem. I came to the counter with a complaint and they basically told me I was wrong and to go sit back down. Whatever I'll just wipe gobs of cream cheese off of my barely toasted bagel with a napkin. Gross. EVERY SINGLE TIME I come here this is the case. I was feeling extra hungry this morning so I got a classic breakfast sandwich with bacon, also. The bacon was thin and there was not a lot of it on the sandwich. The eggs were probably steamed into a patty shape that just comes off as being microwaved. I felt like I couldn't take things to the counter to show them because I would just be wrong and sent back to my table and told to eat what they made me. Oh and their coffee has never been good. Even the good meals I've had there(which, honestly is not very many) the coffee has always been just horrible. Espresso or drip, doesn't matter it's watery, flavorless, and just a total disappointment. This place is only good for getting a half dozen or dozen bag to take home and make yourself, as the bagels themselves are pretty good. Don't get anything else here lest you be disappointed by watered down coffee, barely toasted bagels with way too much cream cheese, or a sandwich with a rubbery microwaved egg patty on it. Oh and did I mention it's pretty pricey too? For the price, I would expect it to be even a little better than an Einstein bros bagel, but it's not. In fact it's worse than that in every way. Get it together fat bagels, there is a lot of potential there. It's a shame because most of their business is just globbing cream cheese onto bagels and they can barely do that right. read more

I picked up a bagel, a salad, and two coffees. Service was great. Plenty of tables if you want to eat in, a drive thru if you want to pick up and go. They place printed labels on everything (like Starbucks) which is a nice high tech feature. My wife thought the bagel a little on the hard side, while I believe in happy wife, happy life, I tried it and I thought it was really good. Sometimes people don't really know that a real bagel has a solid outside, chewy inside. Many bagel places don't make true New York bagels, instead most places make bread with a hole in the middle and call it a bagel. Don't be a softy, eat a real bagel. New bagel place in town finally opened in between the owner's other restaurant's locations. Of course at first the place was packed, but it's slowed down a little now. Inside is small, but has a good vibe to it. I appreciate the drive thru option especially on my way to work. Staff has been very friendly. The bagels and schmear are very tasty, but on the small side which is me reason for a reduced star. I like the location and since it's on my way to work, I'll probably stop by on occasion. Went first time from out of town to try out the place, the bagels were solid. Got a smoothie though and it was quite bad, $9 for a medium sized smoothie is too much, and it was very watered down and took over 15 minutes and had to bring it up to service to have completed as they forgot it, which I get things happen but on top of being overpriced and one of the worst smoothies I've ever had just kind of added to the overall poor experience of the place. read more

Perhaps not the day to visit, but was definitely expecting more based on the reviews. I got the lox me- which was flavor wise significantly better than the Kienne which just tastes like boiled or canned salmon with cream cheese and cucumber- no added seasonings. And all of the bagel options we had the bread was quite dense and hard chew, ended up taking the tops off and eating it as an open sandwich. The Miss Piggy was awesome flavor wise, but again, all the bagels were quite dense. Unfortunately it smelt of burnt toast and the occasional weird unpleasant waft of who knows what. Staff was super nice though and the brown sugar cinnamon iced latte was bomb- I'd come back for the coffee only. We also got a pastry with cream cheese and ham and it tastes of the quality of a Walmart pastry. Overall it fills you up, but definitely underwhelmed with my experience. Cant say how it places up against other regional bagels, but not up to my expectations. I'd give 2.5-3/5 depending on what you get. That latte though? 5/5! read more

They're baking bread and putting cream cheese on it. 30$ for a dozen bagels. Einsteins is 18$ and the service and bagels are way better. This place is another flagstaff tourist trap. They will stay open serving mediocre bagels with poor service at a high price. Welcome to flagstaff. I dinged service because not one person was happy to be there. Not one smile. The newest bagel joint to join the community of Flagstaff. This drive up bagel spot is changing how Flagstaff does breakfast. I stopped by recently with my brother and best friend to grab a meal before making the drive back to Phoenix. I ordered their turkey sandwich on the asiago bagel. This was topped with swiss cheese, avocado, tomato and coleslaw. While this menu item was yummy, the true star of the show at Fat Bagels is their breakfast sammies. I was able to sample my brother's Miss Piggy, a bagel loaded with hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese and pistachio mortadella. In the future, I'd probably order this route instead! There's seating available inside the restaurant, but it's also super convenient that they have a drive-through for grab and go. They also have a seperate menu loaded with caffeinated goodies. It's been fun to watch the renovation that is now known as Fat Bagels. I stopped in on what was their very first day and things were really hopping. Both the drive-through and the line inside at the counter were lengthy. The hustle and bustle vibe was fun. Arrived in the late morning and it was very busy! The drive thru line was to the road, so we elected to order inside. Walking in, we enjoyed the ambiance and plenty of seating. Ordering was very fast and our food was quickly made, even though there was a rush. We got the Miss Piggy and Leo (added sun-dried tomato cream cheese and cucumber). Both were really good! We went through the drive thru and service was quick. Knowing it's owned by John Conley (of Fat Olives and Salsa Brava fame), we came in with high expectations, and it absolutely delivered! I had the Miss Piggy, which came loaded with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, hashbrowns, applewood smoked bacon, and pistachio mortadella on a toasted asiago bagel. It was deliciously indulgent--worth every bite! The fresh-squeezed orange juice was also fantastic and lived up to its name, bursting with freshness. As a bonus, the sandwich portion was generous, so I saved half for the next morning, and it reheated beautifully in the toaster oven (and I'm picky about leftovers!).
