Best Buy "Geek Squad" told me I needed to have them come on site to see if it can be repaired, before I could get a return order to Epson. No exchange with BB, no warranties, even though I spent $140 at check out for what I thought was exactly that. I had to wait 2 weeks for the BB rep to come (I live in the mountains). In the meanwhile, I searched high and low for an Epson phone number - most of them don't work - to ask how the warranty worked. I got so lucky when by chance, I called CTS Services!! The lady there told me I had an extended replacement warranty direct from Epson, and what number to call. I cancelled Geek Squad, and am now calling Epson. Shop Locally whenever possible, my friends. CTS seems like a straight-up business.

I called because they're a licensed servicer of LG products and I wanted to ask a specific question about an LG monitor I have (27GN950-B) that is suffering from a known defect to see whether or not a panel replacement would be better in the long run than buying a new one and the agent was nothing but standoffish, rude and made no effort to listen to my question or understand what I was politely asking. Instead she was talking over me and not addressing my actual question to the point where I had to just say FU and hang up the phone which I have never done in my life. I know what you're thinking, small town shop, probably on a call, give him a break.... Okay, but I met his expectations of customers, that is, don't show up wanting service when it isn't business hours. I didn't make his schedule, or put the lights on a timer. He did not meet my expectations of being open as he advertised. Obviously, this happens often, or there would be no need for the door sign. Pro tip: if your schedule is going to be crazy, or is just organically not reliable, put: "By appointment" I ultimately went to N. Attleborough and was well taken care of.

Despite the relative ease of the fix, Zack was very cordial when I called, and at the store he was naming parts in my custom rig before I even pointed them out. He even offered to hit my PC with the air compressor at no charge (well, at the expense of the clean countertops,; I'm embarrassed to admit I had not dusted my PC in years). A few days later, he had copied all my data onto a new hard drive that is working perfectly. If I run into any computer problems in the future, Russ will be the first person I call!
