I brought in my notebook to have the keyboard replaced. I had already disasembled the case and removed the battery had been removed also. They charged me $60 to "diagnose the problem" (Duh, I needed the keyboard replaced. They quoted me $350 to replace the keyboard, I had already done all work, and it would take about 15 minutes to replace the keyboard, It was INSULTING and ABSUREDLY expensive. This place is a TOTAL RIP-OFF. Don't waste your time or money. read more

I really wanted someone local to tend to my MAC Mini needs. After checking the internet and reading the wonderful reviews I called NTG and spoke to Kevin, a submariner Navy vet. Where I'm retired AF we got along well. The reason for bringing it in was my Thunderbolt Display monitor would randomly drop out, limiting my audio to the poor quality speaker in the Mini which was also running very hot, and with an electronic hard drive it shouldn't be. After rebooting it, it would work fine for a while before crapping out again. For $130 they were able to ascertain the problem isn't in the computer as it was running cool for 3 days, I was happy to pay it. When I got it back home the problem still existed convincing me it was the monitor. On the downside, 500plus photos were lost. Sweating it, I was somehow able to retrieve 'em. Now prior to my visit there I was able to put those photos on a 5 second rotation for screensavers. Not being able to remedy the situation I was really bullshit and called Apple and after rebooting it a zillion times they were able to restore them to my screensavers. I'm happy NTO gets rave reviews, I was looking forward to writing one myself. It just wasn't meant to be. read more

I regret ever setting foot in this repair shop and will never use them again. I learned all of the following from a single repair job over the course of one week: 1. Get everything in writing. This includes what steps the shop is taking to diagnose your machine and also the pricing scheme. This will come in handy if they decide to be evasive on the phone about what they're actually charging you. 2. Diagnosis vs Troubleshooting. We brought our computer in because it wouldn't turn on and the $59 "diagnosis" fee apparently only covered the technician trying to power up the machine and agreeing that it wouldn't turn on. No, I'm not exaggerating. I was told by two different technicians that "troubleshooting" to figure out why is extra. Interestingly, we weren't even told that the process had moved into the "troubleshooting" price range until it had already happened and were also told that they did this in order to diagnose the problem. Are you as confused as I am? 3. Expect the job to take 2 to 3 times longer than they claim or even longer if you don't hound them. First we were told 3 days, then 5, then they finally started work after a week had gone by. In the meantime we were running out of time to return certain parts we'd purchased online in case they turned out to be incompatible in the end. I would have rather been told they were too busy to do the job because the only reason we went with them in the first place was to save time and they didn't even do that. 4. The business uses intimidation tactics to prey on people without technical knowledge. When I asked for a price breakdown so I could make an informed decision, the technician threatened to undo all the work done during "troubleshooting" and set the computer back to the state it was in when we first brought it in. Don't be afraid if they do this, just know that there are other options in the area for repairs and make sure they know that you know. 5. Expect them to inflate prices and offer unnecessary upgrades and installs. One example is our power supply. It was brand new and there was nothing wrong with it but each technician we spoke with mentioned upgrading in order to overclock the machine, something we made clear we had no intention of doing. They continued their sales pitch despite hearing this and it felt like being at a car dealership. 6. Expect them to forget to include parts you brought in when they return your machine. When we originally dropped off the computer we included a cardboard box with all the necessary parts. After picking up the machine and bringing it home, we realized they'd forgotten to return an essential cable and I had to drive back the next day to get it. I'm not sure why it was hard for them to keep things organized but it was. 7. They never took responsibility for any of this and definitely never apologized for their behavior. Their customer care is abysmal and, based on my experience, amongst the worst in the business. My recommendation is to look elsewhere for the care you deserve. When they put my laptop back together they didn't secure internally somehow "missing" the 13 screws that securing it along with the brackets which were in a baggie given to them by me for that purpose. Sadly for me that's not the end of the story, because now the keyboard doesn't function properly. And here's the kicker, they asked me to bring it back so their "Mac Guy" could try and fix it... again. Question; why didn't the Mac Guy work on it in the first place? I Needed my iPad Pro screen replaced (the 12.9" which isn't easy to do). I called, they called me right back, booked an appointment. I had an issue w/ the repaired screen and I called them, they took it back and worked on it again, I still had a problem so they ordered a new screen since the repair was under warranty. Took a little time to get it all straightened out but throughout the process Kevin, Justin & the staff were very responsive and went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. I had a great experience with Nerds to Go! I have an IPhone 6, but my screen recently cracked in multiple areas. I contacted Nerds To Go and explained my situation and they were so easy to work with. I have two small children, so I chose the pick-up & drop off option for the convenience of my schedule (which anyone with small children will understand that service is worth the extra fee!) They replaced my screen same day and the customer service was impeccable. It wasn't like going to other places where they try to offer you other services when you don't need them. I simply needed a new screen and they delivered... literally! The pricing was very reasonable and fair. I didn't pay until they delivered my phone back to me and I was able to use a credit card which was charged on the spot. There have been zero issues with my phone since the screen replacement and I'm very relieved I decided to not get a new phone just because I cracked my screen.
