I tried a lot of things myself as I'm pretty knowledgeable in this area. I called Kerry, the PC Mechanic, and arranged to drop off the PC the same morning. He fixed enough to get it do boot off a CD, backed up all the files to an external USB drive, completely installed and configured WIndows 10, added all the updates, and setup the computer with an automated backup system. This was all done in by the next morning. He constantly kept me updated as to where he was in the process and what he was doing. I highly recommend him.

Russ at First in Service was incredibly friendly, thorough, and helpful in explaining his recovery process while also explaining that there was no guarantee that he could recover the data. I decided it would be worth the 25 mile drive to have Russ look at it. He called a few hours later, shortly before closing on a Friday just to say, "I wanted you to be able to enjoy your weekend knowing that it looks like I can successfully recover everything." A few days later, he had copied all my data onto a new hard drive that is working perfectly. If I run into any computer problems in the future, Russ will be the first person I call!
