This place is amazing, i own an alienware laptop and was pretty scared to bring it in to get it…read morerepaired after it gave me many blue screens because the laptop is so expensive, Phil fixed it all new ($85 windows re-installed with driver and update)and i paid to get installed a new better antivirus ($40 a year) so this doesn't happen again, i even paid the extra to backup my data ($50), he even blew my laptop out and cleaned it thoroughly for free which is nice, we also talked on how i can do maintenance on it so i can save another trip to the repair shop. I highly recommend these guys i will be back there next year to renew my antivirus. Great people, but lousy service…read more I had a problem with my gaming PC. Fairly high end unit. Has worked flawlessly for the last 13 months. Suddenly it had freezing issues and eventually failed to post when attempting to start up. Looked up local repair shops and found PC Tech. Reviews seemed to say good things. Disconnected the cords, gave the case a final wipedown and drove over. After dropping my PC off and waiting a few days, the diagnosis came in as a "bad motherboard". I asked how it could have failed and was told "irregular voltage could have done it." I figured my surge protector was junk and purchased a new one while waiting on PC Tech to take delivery of the replacement motherboard and install. I finally got the call that the motherboard came in and the PC would be ready shortly. Started heading down to the shop. Halfway there I got another call with bad news. The motherboard wasn't the issue, the PROCESSOR was the issue. No clue how the motherboard was determined to be the problem when it clearly wasn't and the processor wasn't examined. Okay, its the holidays. They're slammed with customers. I'm an adult. I don't need a gaming PC to survive. I'll be patient, let them refund me on the motherboard and order the equally expensive replacement processor. It arrives rather quickly and is installed the following day. I get the call, head down to pick it up and see it demonstrated in the shop. Excellent. Fork over the payment and return home. All seems well until the next day when I begin encountering freezing issues that appeared before my last processor died. The AIO cooler hoses are hot to the touch again. I poked around inside with a flashlight and found the CPU radiator to be nearly packed with dust. The back of each fan blade on both the pusher and puller fans are caked in a layer of fine dust. Clearly my cleaning efforts weren't aggressive enough over the past year- but what escapes me is how the radiator wasn't cleaned out when the motherboard was swapped. I'm not an expert but you have to remove the cooler to access both the motherboard and processor beneath the pump. So all in all- it seems the "parts cannon" was fired at the issue and the reassembly was sloppy, as any technician with an ounce of sense could have blown the radiator fins clean during reassembly. This place is a Jiffy Lube, don't take your Ferrari here when you get carbon on the valves.
