In the meanwhile, I searched high and low for an Epson phone number - most of them don't work - to ask how the warranty worked. I got so lucky when by chance, I called CTS Services!! The lady there told me I had an extended replacement warranty direct from Epson, and what number to call. I cancelled Geek Squad, and am now calling Epson. Shop Locally whenever possible, my friends. CTS seems like a straight-up business.

He fixed enough to get it do boot off a CD, backed up all the files to an external USB drive, completely installed and configured WIndows 10, added all the updates, and setup the computer with an automated backup system. This was all done in by the next morning. He constantly kept me updated as to where he was in the process and what he was doing. I highly recommend him.
