I came here today for brunch with my best friend for her birthday. We arrived around 11 a.m. and were seated right away since the restaurant wasn't busy yet. While we waited, I got us water, and because we were catching up, it took us about 15 minutes before we were ready to order. We both ordered iced coffees. I ordered the steak and eggs (medium with scrambled eggs), and my friend ordered the huevos rancheros. Around noon, the lunch rush started, and that's pretty much the last we saw of our waitress. Someone else brought our food, and I immediately noticed two issues. First, the eggs were overcooked. The presentation is beautiful, but it's not practical. They serve the eggs in a cast-iron skillet, which continues cooking delicate foods like eggs after they leave the kitchen. Before I even flipped them over, I could tell from the bubbles on top that they had overcooked. Sure enough, the bottom was browned and overdone. Then I cut into my steak. I ordered it medium, but it came out well done. It was tough enough that it took effort just to cut through it. After finally flagging someone down, my waitress returned, and I explained the problem. She asked me to hand back the entire serving board so they could remake the steak. That honestly surprised me. The only issue was the steak, so I simply moved my toast onto the board and handed her the plate instead. It was a small interaction, but it made me feel like the staff lacked experience handling situations like this. The replacement steak was much better, and I genuinely enjoyed the potatoes and the garlic butter that came with the meal. Unfortunately, the service never recovered. From the time our food arrived until we left around 1 p.m., nobody checked on our table, refilled our water, offered more coffee, or brought the check. It was frustrating because I saw our waitress walk around with water for other tables but didn't come to us at all. I eventually had to flag down another employee, who apologized, offered us water to go, and brought the check. Ironically, that's when our original waitress finally came back saying she'd bring it. Whether it was poor communication between staff or simply inattentive service, I honestly don't know. I usually prefer speaking with a manager directly rather than leaving a negative review, but getting anyone's attention was difficult enough that by the end of the meal I was simply ready to leave. I really wanted to like this place. The restaurant is beautiful, and it's easy to see why it's become popular on Instagram. Unfortunately, it felt like the focus was on creating an aesthetic experience rather than a great dining experience. For two people, the bill came to about $65 before tip, and it just didn't live up to the hype. The food alone is a 3-star experience, but the service is ultimately why I'm giving this restaurant 2 stars. A note for management: I'd strongly reconsider both staff training and how certain dishes are served. There's no practical reason to serve scrambled eggs in a cast-iron skillet when the residual heat continues cooking them after they leave the kitchen. Just as importantly, servers should be ensuring the entire dining experience is enjoyable not just taking an order and disappearing until it's time to drop off the food. Guests shouldn't have to flag someone down for refills or even the check. If you're looking for a trendy brunch spot with great photo opportunities, you'll probably enjoy it. If you're looking for thoughtful cooking, attentive service, and a restaurant where execution matches the presentation, I'd skip this one.
Avocado toast was not good The bread was super mushy and avocado wasn't seasoned at all I was very disappointed especially since they are charging 17$ for this Plus, their coffee drink was completely overly Sweet
I found this restaurant on Yelp and was eager to try it. After looking at their photos, I noticed they offered quite a wide selection of food. I waited about 40 minutes to be seated, as I arrived during a very busy period. The restaurant has a cozy, rustic-modern cafe vibe that leans casual but is thoughtfully designed. However, it was very rowdy by the time I was seated. Let's talk about the service. My server was one of the slowest I've ever had. It took her about 15 minutes just to bring out our drinks, and she lacked attentiveness. She didn't seem able to handle multitasking. I ordered the chorizo burrito and some pancakes. The chorizo burrito consisted of chorizo, scrambled eggs, melted cheese, and home fries (country-style potatoes). The home fries inside the burrito were dry and had a hard texture, I honestly felt like I might hurt my jaw chewing them. The chorizo itself had a mildly spicy, smoky flavor. It wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst either. The pancakes had a buttermilk flavor and were served with fresh fruit on top. However, they were dry and tough, and the flavor was very lackluster. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. From slow service to basic-tasting food, I don't see myself giving this restaurant another try. We waited a while before getting seated. I normally do not mind the wait, but it wasn't busy and there were enough servers to seat us and manage the front. It just seemed a little disorganized. It took time for them to take our order too, but when our dishes arrived, they were delicious! I ordered the Huervos Rancheros and I loved it, my husband ordered the California Breakfast Burrito, and he thought it was good and hearty. My daughter ordered the Nutella Strawberry waffle and she thought it was amazing. Overall, I'd give this place another shot since the place is lovely and clean, just a little short with the service.
What a great breakfast spot in an area that really needs exactly this! The menu was fairly extensive with breakfast offerings on one side and lunch on the other. They had a great coffee menu and a limited but well curated local draft beer selection. They also had wine, listed by varietal. Their service was quick and attentive and the ambiance was homey and inviting. Felt more like Granada Hills than the courthouse stretch of Van Nuys. There was a sizable free parking lot in the back and metered parking out front. Definitely a repeat!
This is my second post and that's totally fine ! This place is so wonderful and delicious that I wasn't sure if I wanted to share. All of the items were order came out hot and fast but soooooo fresh and filling. The service was an amazing. They do a great job using all of the workers to check on the guest and attend to the needs. They are kind and polite as well as efficient. The inside just tops off all of the other parts and makes it that much more wonderful. You get to sit and enjoy with that feeling of being rushed through . It's so calming and private with the decor and theme that runs through . Plenty of seating and space. You don't feel right on top of others and plenty of room for a group .
First off, this is a beautiful location with lots of light. The service was excellent, and everyone was friendly even though it was quite busy. Unfortunately, there must have been some kind of miscommunication as I ordered my chilaquiles with over medium eggs (because runny whites gross me out) and they came over hard, almost baked. I didn't have the time to deal with it, so just pushed them off to the side and focused on the rest of the meal. From reading reviews it seems like this might be a common problem?
Hidden gem on Van Nuys! The food is delicious (with generous portions), the house coffee is flavorful, the decor is adorable, the room is spacious (yet cozy, which is neat), and the staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I ordered the pancake combo with bacon, eggs, and home fried potatoes. The presentation was beautiful. The pancakes were thick and fluffy, but weren't my favorite. It's not a knock on them, though...I'm just particular about pancakes. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the home fries were crispy and well seasoned. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes, and I recommend it for anyone interested in a great spot for a bite!
Been wanting to come to this place since it openend. For a while it was on the hot and new list. It also got a lot of promotion on instagram. Instagram pictures are perfection and the food looks very appetizing. The place is Nice looking Instagram worthy. Super clean and inviting . Smells clean. The waitresess are super sweet and helpful. You might ask. Why the 1 star review. Well.... I ordered chilaquiles. The ones that come with green and red salsa.. i wanted to see which salsa was better. Green salsa is a beautiful flavor tangy lil spicy well seasoned. But it was just green salsa poured over chips.. not incorporated and cooked together. The red salsa was well seasoned spicy and smokey. Not sure if they uses chile morita or Chipotle. Same thing salsa just poured over chips.. i mean I can enjoy some crispy chilaquiles but that was just straight up chips and salsa. The beans on the side were also really good. The "steak" was carne picada.. and honestky it was a bit hard. My chilaquiles did not come with cheese or crema . So I asked the waitress if they weren't supposed to come with . She was very apologetic and brought ke some on the side... ummmmm. Didnt taste the same as it would've already been added to the plate. Then. While I was eating the chips with salsa on my plate I pull it of the plate and what do I see. A freaking nasty ass hair!! honestly its been hrs since I left and im still queasy. I called over one of the waitresss that was available and she said it was from the egg. Ummmmm seriously. From the egg. It was about 5inches long. How could it be from the egg. She freaking passed me off. Whe she saw my face she said she was gonna call her supervisor who was the waitess that I had from the start. She was super embarrassed and apologized.. she took my plate to the back and in fact came back to say it was a hair. "If I wanted anything else".. ummmm hell no!!! I know shit has to to with cheese and and wasn't good t3t£appens .. but damn. 1st no sour cream and cheese in my food. Then the hair ugh no thanks.. im certain I will not be back... super disappointed.

We ordered the matcha pancakes, chilaquiles, steak skillet, sweet potatoes fries, and vanilla & hazelnut iced latte with oat milk. Everything was good except the steak was a tad tough. The waiter, hostess, and busser were all so attentive and friendly. The place is not stingy- extra ranch, extra plates, & butter too was brought to us immediately. The interior is nice too. I work very close to Farm Table so on occasion when I don't bring my lunch, we'll order Farm Table. I am always greeted to the smiling faces of the ladies of Farm Table when picking up my order. They always use fresh ingredients in their dishes and the food is very flavorful. I've never dined in so I can't speak on that. I've know this spot had changed owners many times before, so hoping that Farm stable is here to stay! read more

My husband & I decided to pop into this place this morning for Father's day breakfast. The restaurant is really spacious and nicely decorated with a relaxing vibe. The food was very good. The only thing that could have been better was the seasoned french fries. They seemed to be refried again in the oil to heat them up which made them super oily and old tasting. The scrambled veggie omelettes were delicious and huge. We added cheese and avocado to them which made them even better. The nutella banana crepes were yummy too. Our server Anhi was so attentive and super nice! By the time we left which was around 11am it was super busy and packed. We would definitely come back again. A hidden gem. WELL hidden. Barely visible from the street, this beautiful breakfast/lunch place is a real surprise for this area. It's right across from the Van Nuys City Hall complex, and it feels like a glimpse of the gentrified future destined for this neighborhood once the subway station is up a few blocks away. I hope it can last that long. I came here once when they first opened, back before Covid, and I remember it just being coffee house fare. But now they have a full, extensive menu full of hearty choices. I had the California Breakfast Burrito, and it was fantastic! I'll definitely be back. read more

I know why this place has only 3.5 stars on yelp. We came on a Sunday and it was mostly empty. It's super cute inside. The servers were super nice. I hope the owners take this to heart: We got a fruit plate for the table. It looked great. And the plate was huge. But the pineapple was ...fuzzy. Like it was just the hairy middle part of the pineapple that no one wants. The kiwi was slimy. You can tell they cut all this fruit last week and let it sit in the refrigerator. The food was super greasy. I got a southwest omelette and my wife got a veggie omelette. Each was LOADED with fillings. But my southwest omelette was filled with overcooked bell peppers and onions. And the eggs were a weird hard texture. I don't think they're real eggs. I think it's some packaged egg product. The water glasses and the coffee mugs had had these stickers with the company name on them. The coffee mugs have a stickers with the logo on it. The stickers are peeling and come into contact with your mouth when you're drinking. The stickers look cheesy and it's gross. Please take the stickers off. Then the decor. At first glance it's super cute inside. But 90% of it is plastic plants. Guys- just ditch the plastic please. It's so tacky. And there's no music. Just some quiet ambiance music would really help. This place has a lot of potential. A little music, swap out the plastic plants for real ones, peel the stickers off the cups, and serve LESS food but make it fresher and this place would have a line out the door every day. read more

UPDATE: their FRIED CHICKEN? OMG, out of this world delish! A must have. The crunch and juicy flavor is top tier. Sweet and savory. Definitely top 3 best fried chicken we've ever had and prices are very reasonable here. Will definitely be coming back with the rest of the kids. Stumbled upon this place because the chinese place wasn't open for service yet. I know...completely different vibe. But we are HUNGRY! The food, the service, and the decor was amazing! The place is so cute and honestly I was surprised how busy this place is on a Tuesday morning. The parking lot in the back was full. However there is plenty of street parking. So many things to choose from to eat! All looked so appetizing. They even have a flight of juices and lattes if you cant decide....because believe me you will have a hard time deciding on EVERYTHING. I finally decided on chicken and waffles. So picture perfect. My hubs got a shredded beef burrito (machaca burrito) ...he said it's GOOD . Prices range $15-20 for for each of our plates. Mediocre or less experience. Victim of jury duty I thought I'd treat myself. Service was not good from the beginning. I ordered a BTLA (bacon, lettuce , tomato, avocado) sandwich, took more than 20 mins to get. No napkins or silverware, took a while to get them one asked. The fries were good. The sandwich was not. First of all the bacon smelled like old oil like it was old or had been in a dirty fryer. There was perhaps a smidge of sauce on the sandwich but was overall dry. The tomato was unripe and still had stem bits in it. Since the sandwich was so dry I asked for more sauce, by the time it made it to my table I needed to leave. read more

perfect hangover brunch! Such a cute aesthetic, service was on point. Got the meat lovers breakfast and the matcha pancakes, sent the matcha pancake back didn't love them. They happily replaced them with chocolate chip pancakes, delish! Got a coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. My friends got the tuna melt and blueberry strawberry waffle. So so delicious !! I had the Lux Benedict and the mimosa flight, everything was VERY DELICIOUS. The servers were very kind and accommodating. After brunch I moved to a table near the windows to study where I had access to an outlet. Loved the vibe, I feel like I'm at a farm. Will definitely be back! read more

I have been walking past this place and have been eager to try it for a while. It's quiet and slow today. There are a few tables around and so far the staff is very friendly. We were seated right away and our drink orders were only minutes away. I began my meal with their house coffee which I found very flavorful. I love coffee and finding a great cup of it is awesome. My wife went with the California omelette which she enjoyed with a bit of their salsa. I tried it and enjoyed it as well. I just think a pinch of finishing salt would have kicked it up a bit more. I was stuck between two dishes, the steak and eggs and the pork chop and eggs so I asked our waitress. Upon her advice I went with her suggestion and got the pork chops. I can say that I truly enjoyed them, swilling the pieces of perfectly cooked pork with my runny egg yolks and their house salsa made each bite perfect. Since my wife is keto and I am low carb we both opted for bowls of fresh fruit instead of their home fries. Thank you Farm to Table, thank you to your incredibly friendly staff, to Flor T for being so welcoming and especially the chefs in the back. 100% Recommend this restaurant for your next brunch/breakfast date! Came here for a Galentine's brunch with the girls and our entire experience was amazing. Flor was an excellent server, she was super kind and helpful and provided us with the best service. We were a group of 5 and she catered to each of us gracefully and so kindly. The prices are amazing and the mimosas were so great! Most definitely coming back here and hoping to get Flor as a server again. read more

When you first walk in it's a little confusing there's a counter that says PICK UP & open floor restaurant no host stand. When someone came from the back they told us to sit anywhere. We grabbed a table in the back. Wait for a waitress wasn't long but wait for the food was a bit much. On top of that the food wasn't even hot it was lukewarm. I ordered the huevos rancheros Divorcios with over easy eggs...what I got was cold over hard eggs, the red one can not eat over spicy, green one was okay not the best, potato's were good and the beans over salty (but if you eat the potatoes with the beans it was good), the frap was delicious and coffee was mediocre. The pancakes were okay weren't the best but weren't the worst either, the sausage patties were hard around the edges and chewy. Husband got the farm table breakfast burrito and was bland didn't have much flavor. To be honest I don't think we will be returning. The look of the restaurant is great but the food not so much. read more
