By Bicycle!

Technically, we just stopped for a caramel roll. It tasted home made and was NOT a gargantuan treat. We ate it at the tables outside. It was a good source of energy before we rode the Soo Line Trail on bicycle to Isle.

This restaurant was a wonderful surprise on a camping weekend! Their food is all cooked from scratch (even baked goods), seasonal, and locally sourced when possible. Even their coffee is roasted locally. My boyfriend and I split the veggie burger and asked if any of the bread was vegan (the bun it comes on isn't) and our waitress went to ask the cook. She then let us know their coleslaw was vegan, that she could substitute the honey mustard for a homemade sweet and sour sauce, and that the hash browns are cooked in sunflower oil. Talk about HELPFUL. They're also gluten free friendly if that's your deal. They have locally made maple syrup, honey, meats, eggs, veggies, jam, and a whole lot more for sale in the store. I will be coming back if I'm ever in the area and hungry.

Stopped in here for breakfast on our way back to the cities... We've driven by this place so many times and I've always been curious... So today was the day. The restaurant is rather quaint... A basic menu selection. All options are either locally sourced or organic. I was impressed with how quickly we were served as we can only see one person working... She did a great job. My husband and I both had breakfast sandwiches and our son had the French toast. We really enjoyed the homemade hashbrowns with onions and organic cheese... Very tasty and quite complementary to the sandwiches. I definitely recommend stopping in here for breakfast or lunch if you are in the area... It's a great way to support the local farmers.

Farm to table in Onamia

Farm to table in Onamia with homemade pie. Very tasty food and the service was excellent. I did not try the homemade ice cream but it looks delicious.

Heard the pie was good here. Stopped in to get a piece to go. $4.60 for a small piece of walnut pie (only option). Was told it was like pecan pie. It was AWFUL. No taste, mealy and burnt on top. Needless to say after a few bites it went in the garbage.

Lots of dairy free and vegan options. Plus farm to table food. Fantastic stop on your way up north.

Kari's Rating 9.5/10…read more We stopped here on our way up north. We also getting gas. This cute quaint little bakery has everything from reds to rolls to custards to doughnuts. It was so cute and family owned-I asked the woman working what's the most popular item and she said the caramel rolls. So of course I had to grab one of those. I also got the banana, walnut bread, A, custard filled doughnut with chocolate dollops on top, a glazed doughnut and an apple fritter. The custard chocolate glazed donut was perfect. As someone who is not a really big chocolate fan, these dollop of chocolate were perfectly spaced, and just gave the slightest hint of decadence. The caramel roll, wow I can definitely see how this is the most popular item at the bakery. You could tell the caramel sauce with slow roasted, and made from real butter. It was absolutely perfect. It was not as sweet as you think it would be as it didn't taste like there was a syrup, rather than a handmade almost butterscotch flavor to the caramel. I'm so happy the woman inside recommended this one! To learn that this bakery is just a one off family owned restaurant, made it that much more special. Everything I got there was absolutely incredible and wow. I'm so lucky to have been driving up this way on my vacation! Hopefully it won't be the last time I ever come here, but if it is-please bury me with that custard doughnut.

For generations, it…read morehas been a must-visit destination for travelers heading, making it much more than just a restaurant. It's a Minnesota tradition. As soon as I announced I was going to Hinckley everyone who had been told me I just had to try Tobie's. What makes Tobies special is the combination of comfort food, an incredible bakery, and the nostalgic feeling that comes with walking through the doors. Fresh-baked breads, pastries, pies, cookies, and their famous caramel rolls line the bakery shelves, while their signature cornbread is a favorite that many visitors take home. Be sure to browse the gift shop, where you'll find locally made products, snacks, and their popular popcorn blends that make great road trip treats or souvenirs. Whether you're stopping for breakfast before exploring the area, grabbing lunch on your way to a Hinckley Knights game, or picking up baked goods for the drive home, Tobies is part of the experience. Our favorites were the apple fritter and the caramel roll. We also picked up bread and English muffins. If we had any more room we would have tried the ice cream, but there is always next time.
