Because of the upgrade charge on the steak, my dinner was $60. The wild rice soup was excellent. It was less creamy, but in the best way possible. In fact, I'd say that it was the best wild rice soup I've ever had and would definitely order it again. The steak was a ribeye and was very flavorful. I could definitely taste its smokey flavor. However, it was a bit tougher than I would have liked. The fries were plentiful and they were excellent. We had to take the chocolate cake home because we were too full to eat it, but it was dense and had a deep chocolate taste, but was a bit too sweet for my taste. My wife ordered the Wednesday special, which was beef stroganoff ($24). It had tender cubes of beef and the sauce was very rich. She enjoyed it very much and I agreed. However, it was too much for one portion, so we took home about half and enjoyed it the next day. She also ordered a Caesar Salad, which was excellent with a very good dressing. The service did have some lapses in it. I had to ask for a steak knife because the steak was difficult to cut with the original knife. This is usually automatic. The waitress was also at a loss when I asked her to describe an ingredient mentioned on the menu that I never heard of. Finally, she seem to have been abducted by aliens when we finished our meal and wanted to get a check. On the other hand, she was pleasant and seemed eager.
