Perfect small town diner! I had a very good, and big, breakfast here. I probably should have gotten the half order of Biscuits and Gravy, because it was so good that I finished the entire full order that was quite large. The biscuits were very good, and the gravy had nice flavor (could have used a little more sausage). A side of two scrambled eggs also had good flavor, although I prefer them to be fluffier rather than the crepe-style offered here. Hashbrowns were excellent. Service was friendly and attentive, and the space is very welcoming and comfortable. Would probably make this a regular stop if in Siren again. read more

Wow. Heard this place was good and I definitely can confirm that. We were back twice this trip and will be many times in years to come. This was a guys trip and since none of them tip a scale at anything less than 230, you are getting some more than expert feedback here. Both our servers were awesome and attentive, the chef is very talented, and the atmosphere in this place is great!! The group favorite was between the chicken fried steak or the biscuits and gravy which obviously both have the same gravy. (Chicken fried steak is served on Sundays or weekdays after 11) Orders of both are limited so go early because they can run out. The chicken fried steak was crispy with the right amount of breading and amazing flavor. The biscuits were perfectly cooked with outstanding flavor as well. And the gravy is so good you won't want to leave a drop on your plate. The hashbrowns and eggs are done to your preference and I thought over easy and crispy was done perfect for me. As for pancakes I will say I prefer the smaller one to the giant cakes that are plate sized. The bigger ones get a little too light and fluffy and group consensus was the smaller dense cakes had a much better flavor to them. They have a few challenges that look fun and that can get your picture on the wall of Fame/shame that we will attempt next visit. Update to follow. read more

There's nothing rude about the service or the attitude of everyone working here. However, be prepared to wait a while for your food if you arrive at a busy time. We walked in the door at 11:40 on a busy Saturday morning. Our orders were taken soon after arriving & our breakfasts arrived at our table 50 minutes later. It was worth the wait. Every plate we saw delivered to other tables looked scrumptious. Our eggs were perfectly cooked in butter. Crisp hash browns, fluffy pancakes, nicely toasted & buttered bread. The portions are large. Has a dozen tables with chairs or benches to seat 4. One long higher top table can accommodate a gathering of up to 18! I had 6oz steak and eggs for brunch which tasted as expected. (Good). As stated on menu front and at cash register they do charge 3.5% up charge for credit cards.. so bring cash to save some change. Summary - great place for breakfast/brunch. read more

You can't go to the area of Siren without breakfast at Gary's Rude Cafe. We have been coming up in the summer to this area for over 30 years. It used to be called Main Street Cafe. It is now open a little later for lunch also. You often have to wait for an open table. The place is small. Our usual is pancakes, that are huge. We like to add choc. chips to ours. One is more then enough to fill any adult. The coffee is cafe coffee, but drinkable. They also have nice eggs with hash browns, meat if you want. The service is great. For a small cafe they have plenty of help, people to bring you refills, clean dirty tables, etc. Nothing fancy, small time cafe. read more

Nice little cafe in Siren, WI. It's a block or so off the main drag. My sister and I were heading home after a short road trip and this was as far as we wanted to go before stopping for lunch. Seated ourselves and were brought our drinks quickly. I had a hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and my sister had a burger that was huge and on a brioche bun...looked delicious! As usual delicious food. I don't think we have ever gone here and had a bad meal or bad service. It is a local favorite as my grandparents live in town and took us there. I went to this sight as a young child with my grandfather well before it became Gary's Rude cafe and I love that Gary kept the vibe that makes you feel at home in a way. Yet he has brought a level of new and now that takes the dated feel right out of the building. The food has "big city" taste with a "small town" menu. You can have anything you like from breakfast to lunch. Eggs to Burgers to full meals. If you order the Flatliner unless you can pack it in I would share it. There was so much food we had to take some home and there was 2 of us eating it. We had enough for a 3rd meal. The Sloppy Sarah is another share Though you might not want to it is so good. I love the fry bread and trust me as a girl from a native family having had many different kinds this is on point with other fry breads. It is not undercooked and not to crispy. They have limited hours only open until 2 pm. If there is a line it is worth the wait. Never had an issue getting in after 11am though have heard of long lines. read more
