I actually ate here twice this last week. The first day was Thursday. I had the broasted wing special. They were 8 nice sized wings served with a heaping amount of fries and coleslaw. Also received some sweet chili dipping sauce for extra flavor. The second time I ate here was Friday night. I had the fish special served with a baked potato and coleslaw. They were 3 nice sized pieces of cod breaded to perfection. The baked potato had plenty of butter and a choice of sour cream. The service was fast and friendly both times I was there. Very nice restaurant with great views of the lake from inside or (if you choose) outside seating. I will definitely be back next time I'm ever in the north woods on vacation again! read more

Horrible. I wish I could live this place on the lake but the waitress is such a B. We arrived well before the kitchen closed, sat for 10 minutes. By the time we were finally acknowledged, the kitchen refused to make our food. I know these people think these "city idiots" are not worth their time, but this was absolutely ridiculous. Btw- we have a place on the lake and a lot of ties here and will now go elsewhere. read more

We love stopping in for Breakfast while we are in town. Reasonable priced and a nice view of the lake is hard to beat!

This is a restaurant bar on a lake in Wisconsin, and that is exactly what it tries to be. Pretty much everything on the menu is fried. The clienetele, especially at the bar, tend to be loud and gossipy. "Broasted" chicken is the special three nights a week, and there are exactly 0 craft beers served there. In short, its authentic. I love that it's not tryng to be more than it is, and that it caters to locals and tourist lookng for the Wisconsin Experience. The staff are friendly, and willng to explain what broasted chicken is (hint- it invovles beer). The fried cheese curds are fresh breaded, not frozen. You can tell from how light the food is that the grease is changed regularly, and the view from the patio is to die for. And wow is it cheap. My husband and I had seafood (fried, of course) and a few drinks a piece, and our total was under $30. In Minneapolis, we would've been looking at at least $50, and that's not taking into account the awesomeness that is the on lake patio. My advice, go Monday through Thursday. Its less busy, and you'll have a better chance at a patio seat. Just don't take mine! read more

Considering the fact that it's in Wisconsin, and not even really close to any of the larger cities, I think my rating seems fair. This is your typical backwoods bar--there's not really much of a lounging area, unless you want to count the outdoor patio. My family and I went to a meat raffle here--they'd been several times and were successful. This time, though, we spent most of our time wasting money on tickets and getting ignored by the ticket vendors in favor of the locals. Hey, I know the beginning of April isn't exactly tourist season, but there's no need to look at a new customer waving two dollars in the air and then simply ignore him. Don't come here looking for any kind of food or drink that goes above your typical bar food. The people sitting next to us were chowing down on some pretty nostalgia-inducing grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken fingers, and the tap beers mainly consisted of Bud, Bud Light, Coors and Miller. They've got Pabst, though (of course they do, it's 'Sconny); that's probably the most redeeming factor about this place, hence the second star. I guess I'm trying to say that you shouldn't ever really go out of your way to come here. You can try the meat raffle, but maybe come during tourist season; you'll probably have better luck. read more

Mostly fried food. Expect to be leaving here smelling like a deep fryer. Last visit was for the Friday night fish fry. Was expecting (being this place is on one of the best walleye lakes in the state) that maybe their fish would be walleye. Was disappointed to find out they served cod. Although cod isn't always bad, for a bait fish, it was super greasy and flavorless. No kids menu so kids eat full price meals. Eyes burned on the way home from the smell of grease fryers. Next time I visit I will be bringing a shirt to change into or waiting for a spot on the patio. read more

Excellent "up north", local Wisconsin bar and restaurant. If you want a fun time with some great local folks and Wisconsin style hearty food, right on the lake, this is the place for you. Pool, pin-ball, pull tabs, etc. - FUN! read more

All I can say is if you don't like this wonderful place stay in Minnesota. The local customers are absolutely wonderful and we love them and the owners are just as great and everyone loves them. They are the nicest people you could ever meet. And for the place smelling like a deep fryer we have never smelled nothing like that. It is a very, very clean establishment. And for the meat raffle it is over 3/4 Minnesotans. And for not getting tickets you must have been in the bathroom because if everyone does not get a ticket they bring out a new bucket so everyone has tickets. The food is extremely good. Not greasy at all. They have a wonderful grilled turkey melt with bacon, lots of cheese and turkey and if you would like a tomato that is really good. Then one night it is all the chicken wings you can eat with a free drink for under $10. FANTASTIC!!! Ask my husband last time we went there he ate 17 large wings. Which I never seen him eat like this. He always eats good and weighs 180 so he is not a really large man. But they were so great. I am from Minnesota and I think the locals are the nicest people ou could meet. So someone here has a problem. All I can say is give them another try. But if you hate the noise from the Minnesota people do not go there during the meat raffle. Oh and no place on Friday nights has Walleye for fish fry. And where in Minnesota can you have the most wonderful crispy all you can eat Walleye for $10.95 nowhere in Minnesota, for a slab of Walleye would cost you $25. and your drink would cost $6. So they have cod up there. And then 12 Large Butterfly Shrimp with a free drink and Fries and Coleslaw on Tues for $8.50? Catch your own in Minnesota and let the locals keep there own Walleyes. Sorry But.... And this is the busiest place in the area. So that proves something. It must be Great. Hope this does not scare people away. If this place deserved criticism, I would be the first one to help people save there money. Maybe you should give it another try. But like I say if you do not like noise stay away till after the meet raffle. But this is just a nice place with nice locals who mostly all came from Minnesota. read more
