A friend and I came here for breakfast on our trip to Canada. The breakfast was perfect. I had ham and eggs and hashbrowns. My friend had country fried steak and eggs and a biscuit. The service was great and it was a typical small town diner. It was perfect for our trip. Please do not pass this place up. read more

Kaffe Stuga - My friend I recently introduced to Kaffe Stuga - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Harris, Minnesota

The food service and the food is always excellent. The prices are more than fair. I remember eating here as a kid and 50 plus years later they are going strong when many restaurants have come and gone. read more

This gem of a cafe does a brisk breakfast business on a Saturday morning and we could see why! We enjoyed the ambiance complete with sturdy 1970s brown coffee mugs, rosemaling and dalla horse decoration. The coffee was fresh and kept coming, the service quick and friendly, the classic breakfast offerings done right. My hubby had apple fritter French toast and loved it. I had the best English muffin breakfast sandwich ever, and we shared a warm cinnamon roll generously frosted with cream cheese frosting. So glad we stopped!! read more

Just the kind of homemade delicious food diner you want to visit over and over again!! Loved the food and the great service

Great hometown cooking and atmosphere. Feel like you are going to your grandma's for lunch. Everything we have had is great!

It often seems as if we are a nation of food snobs which is ironic because we are so attached to our fast food chains. That said, for anyone who grew up in the 50s, 60s, or 70s, dinner at home was typically meat and potatoes, filling and tasty. Revisiting that type of cooking in such an cafe like Kaffe Stuga brings back wonderful memories of home cooking and comfort. Kaffe Stuga delivers in spades. The simple, inexpensive, yet tasty fare at Kaffee Stuga evokes memories of all the great things America and small towns stood for. My sister and I visited Kaffee Stuga for the first time today and plan to return, soon. The hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy was delicious. Waitstaff personable and efficient. The close-knit feel of diners made this eatery a winner. read more

This place is in business since before the '40s, and by that I mean 1940 + when the grandparents of the current owner purchased it as The Palmer Cafe. Not a very large place, and if you have a big group like we did today, better call ahead and let them know. Food is good and plentiful on your plate. I had Swedish Meatballs and it was good. I'm guessing their clientele is older enough to watch the sodium, so you might need to add some from the table shakers. Very reasonable prices, a cheeseburger is $2.75, but don't plan on washing it down with anything but water, soda, or coffee 'cause there is no liquor here! If you're in the area, and hungry for something different, it's worth a stop. Parking can be tight, especially in winter when snowbanks are everywhere, but fortunately some on street parking is available. read more

My family and I love to support the small businesses in our community. Kaffe Stuga was our choice for breakfast today. The menu is simple, nothing complicated about it, which is great!! My wife and I ordered our kids the 2 pancakes meal to split between the two. The pancakes are pretty good sized pancakes so it was plenty for them. My wife ordered the Stuga Stack, she loved it. And I ordered the Country Fried Steak. Crispy steak, with a good amount of gravy but not drowning in it. (Very good portions btw) Over medium eggs on my split biscuit with a tad bit of gravy on it was fantastic! Service was great, my Coffee was never empty and she was very friendly. The atmosphere was calm, as customers left after their meals and new ones came in. It's our first time here. And it will not be the last. Thank you for the delicious meal! See y'all soon! read more

Food was very bland. It tasted like hospital food. Green beans were out of a can. I don't think I'll be back here

Great place. Reasonable prices. Great service. I'm looking forward to going there again.

Great place and awesome service every time we go in! The food is always great and they give real portions that fill you up. The only issue is, everyone else knows how good it is so you need to get there early! read more

We like stopping here for breakfast on the way to Banning State Park. The breakfast is delicious. The coffee is tasty and topped off often. The service is excellent and the prices are reasonable. A homemade cinnamon roll or dessert to go and we'll be back! read more

I've been to Kaffe Stuga many times as it's very close to where I live and I want to like an old Swedish inexpensive restaurant. Unfortunately I've never thought much of their food. On the plus side it's modestly priced, has a clean comfortable feel, easy parking, and the service is friendly and competent. But the food just isn't as good as you'll find at other successful restaurants. Maybe it's just me as I'm continually shocked when I read other reviews. If you just want an easy stop to fill your belly at a reasonable price you'll be satisfied. But if you crave something really tasty I'd try elsewhere. read more

The Stuga is a must experience. And if you're local, it's the go to for great good. The nicest people and the best homemade food anywhere. If Swedish meatballs are on the special list for the day -- make sure you order them. Just like Nana used to make!! read more

We ate at this restaurant twice. The first time we were hoping to have breakfast but they stopped breakfast and were serving lunch. We split the meatloaf dinner with one salad and one cup of chicken noodle soup. It was delicious. We were able to get breakfast on our second visit. We tried the Apple Fritter French Toast and pancakes. The pancakes were delicious but the French Toast was a little sweet for me. It's one of the most popular breakfast dishes so I'm sure it's to most people's taste. The bacon and coffee were great. The service was friendly and the place is very popular with the locals. read more

Aww memories of this place....it has been way over five years since we have eaten at this establishment. Years ago, we lived in Harris and ate here at least once a week. The salad bowls are the same, the French dressing has not changed, the décor is the same old pictures of Harris times past. I ordered an old time favorite, the shrimp burger and onion rings. My husband ordered the Stuga Burger and fries, which was his go to item in the past. This place is a timeless treasure, a place that still has the same quality of food, prices that are cheap and a homey atmosphere. Four stars only because the wait staff is rather slow. But it is rather busy, and I understand why. read more

We went to Kaffe Stuga on a Saturday morning, it was busy but they staff were great! We had 4 adults and 5 children and they were able to accommodate! The breakfast was delicious! I had the Apple fritter French toast with eggs, sausage, and hash browns which I shared with one of my kids and we loved it!!! Everyone was satisfied with our meal and service! It was nice to sit down order and eat in a decent amount of time as we had a few wrestling tournaments that day! We will definitely be back!!! read more

Um, well first thing is I'm not rating it for food taste but the nostalgia of food taste. Salt and pepper appear to be the only spices used here, and even then sparingly. However, if you grew up in Minnesota before the influx of new immigrants with all their "flavors" you will appreciate this old style Minnesota restaurant which is increasingly becoming an endangered cultural institution. The prices are great. The atmosphere is again, old style Minnesota with rosemaling and a cabin feel giving the customer a true "L'Étoile du Nord" experience. read more

i have travelled around the world and this has to be one of my favorite breakfast spots of all time. It's a great place to get a bang for your buck. I highly recommend! This place just slaps Perkins and Ihop... way better culture at the Kaffe. enjoy my friends. read more

My sisters and I, now all retired, have been traveling central Minnesota this summer checking out the restaurants. We stopped at Kafe Stuga and most definitely like the restaurant. The Atmosphere was calm, relaxing, family friendly, not filled with loud noises, and there was no pressure to wolf down our meal and leave. The service was a little slow but we didn't care because the staff were friendly and kind. The food was excellent with generous portions at very reasonable prices!!! Our hot food was hot and the cold food cold; which to me is extremely important. We have put Kafe Stuga on our lists to revisit. It is not far off of 35 and right on the Main Street Harris, MN. read more

Food here was pretty good. It was busy, which is a good sign. I had the all you can eat fish and shrimp buffet. It was good and well stocked. I wouldn't say that this is a place that I would go out of my way for, but I would definitely stop again if I was in the area. read more

I've only eaten here for breakfast, but each and every time my girlfriend and I are blown away by the affordability of the stuga's specials. The place is cozy with comfortable booths and tables. The pictures on the wall remind you of the history of Harris Minnesota and give the place a very homey appeal. If you're traveling north on highway 61, give this place a go, you won't regret it! read more

Love the homie atmosphere and how nice everyone is. There food is good and has a homemade taste.

My favorite spot for breakfast by far!! Only downfall is that it ends at 10 or 10:30am, so don't be late! Excellent food, large portions and very reasonably priced! Great service, feels homey and their berry pie was out of this world! Definitely recommend this place! read more

Their food is good but I wouldn't rate it 5-stars. 4 is a stretch but I think it deserves more than 3. I think most people like it because it's a small town, there's not much else like it around. Worth checking out at least once. read more

Great local café with good comfort food at a great price. Owners and staff are friendly and 90% of the time spot on. Like anywhere else you need to cut them a lil slack when its busy. read more

2 over easy eggs cooked perfectly, a good portion of hashbrowns, 2 good sized tasty sausage patties, wheat toast, coffee, and tax for $6.09. I'm a fan. The only complaint would be the wheat toast was just normal toast, and a little over toasted. read more

Simple food at great prices. Wish it was breakfast time, looks like it would be good. Will try to stop again on a morning trip up north.

We used to come here EVERY week with my grandfather when I was younger. It's a great local family place, it won't blow you out of the water but it's just what you'd expect for a sleepy little town, which is exactly what I'd want. read more

Passing thru town the Swedish name caught our attention. Although the description does say American/traditional we were a bit disappointed with the traditional options. Only one. We opted to order it, the Swedish meatballs. They were very good, albeit not served totally traditional. Service was fast and very cordial. Cute decor. read more
