Citrus salmon with a Cajun spice and an orange zest rub with a side of broccoli. Also comes with a bun & salad or soup.

I'll start by saying the wait was around an hour for our food (4 people on a Sunday afternoon), BUT that was the only negative. We were seated immediately and warned of the wait ahead of time. The table featured old Trival Persuit questions which kept us entertained (and the wait didn't feel very long). I ordered a whiskey on the rocks (rail), their Citrus Salmon and the Spinach Artichoke dip to share. My drink was HUGE. I have never received a rail drink this large before. Be warned lol. The spinach artichoke dip came out PIPING hot with house made chips for dipping. It. Was. Fabulous. Would highly recommend (could also save some to put on top of a burger). Next was the meal. My brother ordered their Hangover burger (breakfast burger with an egg, hash browns, and bacon) with the vegetarian patty. My mom ordered the Cuban sandwich with fries, my dad ordered the Grumpy Pulled Pork with chips and I, again, ordered the salmon. Everything was DIVINE. My salmon was amazing and DO NOT skip on the dinner bun, it was the best bread I've had in a long time. The chips are just as good as the fries, so don't feel like you have to upgrade. All in all, the wait wasn't even an issue and even if it was, it would have been well worth it, I highly recommend.

This is a great little place tucked away on Rush Lake. I had no clue about it despite growing up twenty minutes away, and thankfully was enlightened by a friend. But people SHOULD know about it. It's a charming little place year round, perfect for game days, or equally nice for a relaxed night out. Did I mention they have a drive up dock for boaters out on the lake? Pret lake views are definitely welcome. Each day has a food special, and most have HH. It would be a stretch to suggest they're fine dining, although there are definitely some nice things on the menu. I might be a tad obsessed with their chicken sandwiches. Try the sweet potato fries with its marshmallow sauce to dip. You will not be disappointed. Burgers are average, wraps are predictable. A lot of the drinks are served in mason jars, which I'm sure lends to the bucolic feel of the place. In a region where options are limited, Grumpy's is as solid a choice as any. I'm adding an addendum to record possibly one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. I'm only dropping one star because I'd like to think the other pleasant experiences make tonight aberrant. I won't name names or go into excessive detail, but suffice to say absolutely every aspect of the visit, from the moment we sat, was literally messed up. It was supremely disappointing since I was so excited to try Grumpy one more time before I move overseas. They could have easily rectified it in so many ways, but it was an absolute disaster. If it was a first impression, I'd never have come here again.

Great food and awesome views of the lake. Bartenders are super friendly. Definitely a hot spot in the summer season.

It always seems like there is a really relaxed vibe and the low lighting and heated bar really add to this experience. I used to think that The Abbey was just a bar (by no means a bad thing!) but I stopped in for lunch and had a spectacular pulled pork sandwich a few days ago. Dare I say it... The best pulled pork sandwich in downtown Menomonie?! The sauce sounds like it would be weird because there is mustard in it but I can confirm that it is delicious and really makes the sandwich. Props to The Abbey for having a limited menu and having a few really good dishes instead of a bunch of average bar food. Apart from the atmosphere, food and staff there are really good drink specials at The Abbey as well! Every day there is a near unbearable special. When school is in session these deals are definitely taken advantage of by the Stout students. If I had to credit this place for just one thing it would be that the building itself is such a relaxing place. No flashing lights, no overly loud music and no amateur DJ screaming at the top of their lungs like other bars in Menomonie. Even yet, if inside is a little too much you can always step out onto the patio. If you're looking for a relaxed cocktail in Menomonie this is your place.

And just when you think your whole day is shot because the slaw has broccoli (we know that Wisconsinites loathe anything that did not have parents) bam - there's bacon in it! Abbey (from the Abbey) is the coolest Abbey I know. Much cooler than any other Abbey, including Westminster and Downton. My dog enjoys the back patio where she can chill and dream about all the wonderful smells that waft from the kitchen. The sandwiches are amazing. The drinks are made well and the free chaser is like a prize my liver didn't know it won.

Upon entering, you will notice a small bar with an adequately stocked bar, featuring about 8 taps and a number of canned and bottled beers for your liking. There are plenty of high-top tables and booths to accommodate a decent crowd. MaGillycuddy's Bar is one of those places that instantly makes you want to settle in and stay awhile. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between cozy and relaxed, thanks in no small part to the awesome tin ceiling-- it kind of gives this place a vintage charm you don't see often. The crowd is just what one would expect, just regular folks enjoying a libation and watching the Wild game. And they have pulltabs!! We settled in on a high-top table and ordered beers and our lunch. The Nashville Hot Shrimp is a must-try. just the right amount of heat, and packed with flavor. The Guinness cheeseburger is an open-faced burger topped with fries, Guinness cheese sauce, and, of course, bacon. That was a bit messy, and was enjoyable, but there are some other items I will want to try before going back to that entree. Between the solid food offerings, the friendly vibe, and the cool interior, MaGillycuddy's has all the makings of a local favorite. If you're anywhere near Aonka, do yourself a favor and stop in--you won't regret it.

My boyfriend and I were originally trying to go to a different business in the area for lunch, but…read morethey were closed and we saw this place had good ratings! I'm really glad we stopped in! There is a parking ramp and street parking in the area. Both are free. They were decorating for Halloween and it gave us such a fun vibe! We were immediately welcomed in and the service was phenomenal the entire time we were there! I would go back on service alone! The upstairs area isn't overly large but they do have tables, booths and a bar to sit at. There was a sign that said "basement closed" so I assume there was more down there. There are TV's, so this would be a cool spot to grab a beer and watch the game for sure! There is also a small outdoor seating area and is next to a fountain. The food: The deep fried pickle spears were good! The batter is light and crispy! However, because these are spears, they took a long time to cool to properly eat. It comes with jalapeño ranch, which has a slight kick but nothing crazy. I recommend getting the regular ranch too! My boyfriend got the Reuben and noted it was "solid." I got the deep fried buffalo chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries! Both were excellent! The chicken was seasoned well before battered and the sweet potato fries had a sweet/lime/seasoning that was unique and tasty! This is definitely worth checking out!
