I have been meaning to get out to Hayes Public House for a while now. They are one of the few breweries / taprooms that are hand pulling beers, and from what I have seen have the most (four hand pulls when I was there). The taproom has a cozy traditional pub vibe indoors with a small bar to stand around with your friends or couches / arm chairs to sink into with a pint. They also have a rooftop patio with some beautiful views. Scottish Heather Ale: A Scottish Ale brewed with Heather. A very unique herbal flavor reminiscent of a herbal tea with a light caramel. The flavor has a medium-high herbal / Heather, medium light caramel, and light honeycomb. High herbal / spruce aroma. English Best Bitter: A traditional English Best Bitter being low ABV, sessionable, and representing English characteristics. A low toasted bread flavor balanced by low herbal / earthy hops. Do not let the 'Bitter' in the name make you think you are going to be drinking something as bitter as an IPA, it is mild in bitterness and made me feel like I was sitting in a pub in England. Banana Fosters Imperial Stout: A medium bodied Imperial Stout that tastes just like banana fosters. High caramelized honey, medium bread pudding malt, and medium-light molasses flavor. Low light syrup and light banana aroma rounds out the beer. Extremely tasty and very different from the English Bitter. Spruce IPA: A Black IPA using spruce tips. The high bitterness / roasted coffee is lined by a medium-high spruce flavor similar to pine hops. A medium low spruce / pine aroma that doesn't hide the character of it being a Black IPA. Another unique offering that hits the nail on the head for the spice additions.

Inaugural visit this afternoon and already looking forward to my next!! It was a beautiful day to take in their rooftop deck!! However, since it was my first time in I opted to drink inside...so I could ask about the brewery. Friendly and knowledgeable beertender Jake said he is the only full time employee, who is there six or seven days a week... Jake-of-all-Trades you could say. I had an agenda today so I was opting for the lowest ABV beers. I opted first for Ciodhna The Goddess - apple ale. Next up was the Uroica heather ale, complete w the story of heather used in beer from Jake!! Thanks Jake always fun to learn about the beer, especially history on how something like this came to be! I really enjoyed the delicious beers, the quiet lake view, the fun tap room decor; browsing the growlers....some of the old closed breweries. Chatting up Jake about the brewery. I am definitely looking forward to enjoying summer beers on the roof!! Parking was easy w the little parking lot. Hayes doesn't offer flights but they do offer half pours! Maybe sitting on the patio in front of a fire pit! They offered pizzas and large pretzels. When I asked if the pizzas were spent grain crust? They are not, they are from Toscano's who is apparently opening a restaurant in town. Don't skip on stopping at Hayes! This brewery checks all the boxes!! Thanks for such a wonderful first visit Hayes!! Taste more of your offerings later!!

Stop #95 MN brewery and so so worth it!!

Hayes' was my 95th brewery visited in Minnesota and just like that, instantly one of my favorites outside of the metro. I feel like this place is much underrated because the beers were absolutely delicious, the decor is greatly detailed and cozy, and the service was excellent. My friends and I shared two flights so we could try as much beer as possible. I already knew that the Cliodhna the Goddess Apple Ale aka cider beer was going to be a hit because I previously tried it at a beer festival and fell in love. It is half beer half cider and amazingly good! We also tried a ton of porters and stouts; Coffee, Irish Cream, and Coconut Vanilla. The Irish Cream Milk Stout was my favorite; incredibly smooth and rich flavor. My friends' favorite was the Coconut Vanilla Porter which was also fantastic and very coconut forward. And even the Coffee Porter was great. We were all really impressed because all of the beers were just so beyond solid and there was not a single one we didn't enjoy. Our bartender was so friendly, talked to us about the brewery and beer for a while. He also let us sample pretty much everything else that wasn't in our flight. He was so accommodating and made the entire experience even better. The taproom is very small and cozied up with classic Irish pub vibes. The decor in this place is insane; so much detail, paintings, portraits, and other little knick knacks. I spent a good amount of time just looking around and taking it all in. This was a great experience overall and I'm definitely going to be coming back even though it's a bit of a drive. It's so worth it and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!!

Hayes's Public House is one of my Top 5 Favorite breweries in Minnesota. It's authentically Irish -- no TVs and no bar stools add to the relational experience. You can't walk in and not meet someone new or have a great conversation with someone. Hayes's favors malty beers -- including great stouts, porters, barleywines and brown ales -- but also makes some great IPAs and fruited ales. Wednesday nights feature open music sessions -- bring your instrument and join in or just enjoy the spontaneous music! For an exceptional experience and great beer, you can't go wrong with Hayes's Public House!

What a beautiful taproom full of Irish pub culture! The inviting service and hospitality made this trip great! I loved all the traitional ales they had to offer. In fact I went ahead and tried almost over beer they had available. I loved the Coconut Vanilla Porter the most and had to get a growler to get. I even ended up taking the last bomber of their Smoked Imperial Coffee Porter. This is a taproom I look forward to going back to. The beer being great is always nice but, the hospitality, passion, and love in this brewery makes it a fantastic experience. I also really enjoyed the Daiker Wee Heavy, Haye's Irish Stout, and O'Ruaidhri's Irish Red.

Quaint place with tasty microbrews. I don't know anything about microbrews or how to review them so I will leave that to the experts. I liked the pale ale they had on tap, it had some distinct flavor and I didn't get sick of them after a few glasses. Small interior so get there early to get a seat. They don't have food but people brought their own snacks and sounds like you can have pizza delivered there. I am giving this place 5 stars for different reasons: 1. The guys who own the place working behind the bar were pleasant and polite. Although many of the customers there seemed to be their friends. 2. It was hard to get a read of the type of crowd but definitely not the typical Buffalo, so if your looking for something different check it out. 3. It's a unique concept for central Mn, a microbrewery in a small town. They have added some patio seating.

Easily the best hang out spot in Buffalo. The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable. The beer is superb! I had the Imperial IPA and it was honestly one of the best new IPAs I've had in a long time. They don't serve food but there is usually a food truck outside and you can order delivery or bring in your own munchies. We will definitely be back!!

Cool vibe! Feels like your hanging out at a college house! But better!

Best food in town, you need to try it. You'll be very satisfied. And don't forget to try their special made margaritas.
