In addition to a large beer selection, they also have mixed drinks and a pretty good whiskey selection too . For food I had the "Best in Town Wings" with the smoked mezcal rub. We decided to try a new place that was also seemingly newer to this part of town. The outside is inviting and has beautifully painted murals. One would expect a "Nordic" theme inside too- but it's adorned with taxidermy- everywhere and was a bit off putting. We ordered online and some options weren't user-friendly or even available (such as omitting or adding every ingredient included in that entree.) Staff were very nice upon pick up and food was neatly prepared and accurate. The veggie burger was excellent! The flat bread was a miss and the grilled cheese was just a regular grilled cheese so the name alludes to bigger hype. The mammoth cheese sticks were probably the best part. All in all it's likely better fresh and in the moment but I don't think we can sit inside that restaurant with all the animals staring at us, haha. read more

We went to try this place out. We ordered some wings and tried several different beers. The food was good. We sat on the rooftop. Its pretty busy and on the rooftop its first come first serve with limited seating. The view was nice. It was a real chill place to hang out. Expect to wait for a table to become available. We were able to split a table. Ordering was pretty cool. You can order virtually and pay as a group or individually as soon as you get your food ao when youre ready to go. All you have to do is get up a d get out. I cannot wait to go back. Just know on the rooftop the waitresses are not as attentive- you will need to ask for utensils and napkins etc. but they are pretty nice and good about providing them for you once asked! read more

I've only been in a few times since Nordic went from a brewery to a brewpub. I asked a server about it one day and they said most customers don't realize they brew their own beer. Their cocktail list is impressive but don't skip on their beers either. Parking is easy in a big lot and the brewpub is comfortable seating where the staff is always friendly. read more

Road bicycle 35 miles from the suburbs and found this spot. Demolished the WTF Burger. Amazing! The wings were good even though the soy sauce (can't remember exactly what flavor) isn't my favorite flavor they were quite good. My friends other burgers and flatbread were good. I liked my mojito, the beer I got was ok just not my style. Service was awesome, our server was dealing with our humor and firing right back! We stopped here while on our way back from the Twin Cities. Fish and chips were tasty -- fish was well cooked but not as good as we've had (breading was a bit heavy). Chips were like fat potato chips, or skinny potato wedges and were super good. My wife enjoyed the amber lager. Service was uneven. You seat yourself and order from a QR code. They add 4% to cover credit card fees, and say that's not more than their cost, but if so they need a new CC processor because that's crazy high! Then it asks for a tip, for service that hasn't happened yet. And it starts at 20% of course. You can leave the tab open or close it out. The beer came. We had to ask for waters. We waited. And waited. And waited. I checked my order time and it had been 25 minutes without a peep from the staff. Apparently someone had booked a big event in a different room and not scheduled enough staff (we were told 1 cook, 1 server and 1 bartender). Then they got responsive and checked on our food, let us know when it was being cooked, and offered to buy our dinner. But I had closed my tab. Apparently issuing a refund was not something they could do. We settled for a crowler of the beer and left much later than we expected. I appreciate that the server wanted to make it right. The 3 sausages were pretty good. Two out of three were tasty. But I never got the side of sauerkraut. Even asked for it and the server never got it. The cheese was straight cheese wiz. Fish sandwich was different- mayo and American cheese slice. The Nashville chicken sandwich was lackluster. Good potato chips. Overall pretty good with lots of room for improvement. We had a nice time at Nordic Brewpub. I am not a huge fan of ordering off of my phone as I always have questions (food allergy) but we managed to figure it all out. My hubby ordered the sausage plate (cant remember the exact name) it was very good. I ordered the fish and chips. Not great. The "chips" were good but the fish was more like frozen fish sticks you ate when you were a kid. Not good- dry and bready. The servers that brought our order out were fun and friendly. Don't let the exterior fool you, inside decor is great, including the music. The 4 different beers were very good. The servers were very friendly. The online menu and ordering system could definitely be improved. We ordered wings with the angry sesame which was very tasty. The problem was in the next section it asked for the dipping sauce choice and gave the option of on the side. The angry sauce came on the side and no dipping sauce was included. The beer cheese soup was Luke warm so we sent it back to get heated and then it was really good. We ordered the house salad based on the description but they changed all the ingredients from what was described and they didn't have those ingredients in hand. They ended up asking what to do to make right so we got a Caesar and it was very good. Bottom line is the ordering system caused most of the issues. read more

We loved this place the minute we walked through the door. Something about the way it was decorated gave it this unique vibe. The bar, wallpaper and things hanging on the wall were interesting. Our waitress came over immediately and got our beer order. My husband had a Mr Pandy which is a smoke pineapple lager with a nice Smokey flavor. I had a Mango Woman which was a currant & mango sour. It was just a perfect amount of sour. We love a brewery with food and the food did not disappoint. We started with the buffalo cauliflower which was not deep fried. The Buffalo sauce was a good amount of spice. We decided to share the pork belly sliders and wild mushroom flat bread. The pork belly sliders were so good with a sweet bread and salty pork belly. The slaw was flavorful. The crust on the mushroom flatbread was nice and crispy. One of the cheeses had a smoky flavor. We went here on a Sunday afternoon after a hike. It was fairly quiet and I heard someone complain that the pinball machines weren't turned on. We loved it. Our service, the beer and food were all wonderful. Super cool space with 12 different beers on tap at the time of visit. Had samples of the My Randy Plus (smoked pineapple porter), Addled Ale (cream ale), ol' pudgy frontbottom (English bitter), and the Thunder Bus(imperial oatmeal stout). Probably my favorite was a NE IPA called Treasure Coast. A super juicy beer with lots of fruits and only 40 IBU. Some I enjoyed, one not so much but you may. That Randy Plus was a surprise close second. The space is open and airy and the music pumping through the place was light and festive. There is also a huge side room for bands and what not. I also enjoy the artwork and every table and the bar counter was custom made and seriously, the space is really nice but speaking with the owner, he really put his heart in the place and the focus is obviously going to the beer. My little Cliff Claven fact for the space is that they are using some of the old fermenters that used to be in Jack Pine Brewing out of Baxter. Let's hope that good mojo rubs off for these guys too. Overall, I'd give it a 4.5, but since I can't, a 5 it is. read more

So incredibly sad, we are longtime patrons of the Nordic and we went in today at 4:00 pm on a Saturday and stood at the counter for 6 minutes and made eye contact with all 3 servers behind the bar and were not greeted, acknowledged or served. We left due to lack of service. As a side, the place was basically empty, 3 bar staff and at least 2 kitchen staff. So sad because we generally will drop at least $100 per visit and want to support a local business. Sadly, would rather take my business elsewhere than to go to The Nordic anytime soon:( read more

This is a must stop for Monticello! They craft the beer in house. The beer is really tasty and super cold! When you walk in you stop at the counter to order, the staff was so friendly and nice! She had a really good recommendation. They have yummy flat bread, my husband and I got the margarita flat bread. It was so good! My wife and I went to the Nordic the other night to try out their new menu and were nothing short of impressed! The food, service, and ambiance were a 10/10. This is a very cool place and their effort to create a unique atmosphere seems to be unmatched in the area. We started out with some chicken wings that were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. My wife and I are chicken wing buffs and have been trying out new wings everywhere we go since college 20 years ago and these rank among the best. I ordered a double smash burger and my wife had a chicken Caesar salad with a bowl of beer cheese soup. Everything was the bomb. We washed it all down with some house IPAs and Dangerous Man Brewing Seltzers. To balance out all that savoriness, we finished our night with the s'mores flatbread which was a fantastic combo of gooey marshmallows and chocolate! This place is a 10/10 and we are so glad to have something like this locally. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves great food, awesome service, and good times! Stop#2 in Monticello. Location by some apartment buildings and across from a cemetery in a strip mall. Walked in and it's dark inside and kinda triangle shaped. There was room at bar to sit. Tried these: Addled Ale, which is 5% ABV, good but I've had better. My Pandy 6%ABV smoked pineapple, did not care for. Also tried Duke of Sauvin 4.9% ABV Pale Wheat Ale ok. Also tried Hopped Up Hefeweizen which tastes like biscuits and dry bitter finish. I used the bathroom and discovered a closed off huge room they must use for events. Staff wasn't really engaging, I wasn't overly impressed. Cannot in good conscious recommend. Rustec is way better. read more

"Get your own water from the cooler", order online at table but no follow up- had no idea what the order status was and no wait staff ever checked in on us.
