Yikes!! Beware of the drink prices. Apparently golfers have a lot of money.

Chester’s Small Town Tavern & Eatery

We have been there twice now and have been more than happy with the food and service!read more

Chester's Small Town Tavern and Eatery is the kind of rural town sports bar where the wings are…read morehot, the beer is cold, and the Wi-Fi signal acts like a spotty Dalmatian. .Housed in a dingy strip mall this place is equal parts sports pub, community center, and unofficial therapy office. The walls are a mosaic of live entertainment, collectibles, neon beer signs, and thankfully not one taxidermied raccoon or set of deer antlers. TVs? Oh, there are TVs. plenty of them, strategically placed so no one misses a single play. The bar top is long, smooth, vast and usually surrounded by a cheerful mix of regulars, and drifters. Behind the bar are the personalities. Not just bartenders--hosts of the high plains! The drinks menu ranges from artisanal cocktails with muddled herbs to a can of Old Milwaukee served with a wink. The menu? Oh, it's comforting. Burgers, wings, fries, and something mysteriously labeled "Chester's Baked House Mac-N-Cheese" that may involve chicken, shrimp, or both. But here's the kicker--everything is outrageously good. Like, "you-just-closed-your-eyes-after-the-first-bite" good. They have a house-made meatloaf, thick as your uncle's handshake, served proudly on a slice of country bread, nestled under a scoop of mashed potatoes so fluffy they could file for cloud status. topped with a hearty ladle of brown gravy and bacon bits, It's comfort food with calloused hands--no frills, no fuss, just a full-belly guarantee and a warm hug in meat form. Chester's Small Town Tavern and Eatery is where sports are loud, food is honest, and nothing fancy ever stood in the way of a damn good time. Cheers!

Not busy when I arrived. Ordered water with "some limes",…read moregot a tiny sliver of "a" lime. Okay. Pizza took over six minutes to go from the window to my table The heat lamp was not turned on so my pizza was already getting cold. Center was squishy not crispy. The $1.50 or "one topping" $1.95 green peppers barely made it out of the center of the cooled pizza. So your "first topping" will cost you $1.95 and each additional topping is $1.50. Oh, there are only Tobasco and Franks here for hot sauce . No creativity. No water refill offered either. Once the pizza did arrive, never was checked on to see if it was okay, it was NOT! I'm leaving this review only because the last time we gave this place a shot for food, it didn't go so well either. I have visited several times just to kill time though. Bartenders and servers vary in personality, ya never know if they have any hustle in them. Usually not. Bring a sweatshirt all year round, annoyingly cold in here. The music leans to rickety old classic rock. Not a happy feel, very Moose Lodge, or Eagles Club but cleaner. They have bingo, check before you come. My server knew the menu and prices well. She was very pleasant. Mushy center crust, very little topping dispersement, lack of topping choices, (very minimal, no jalapenos anywhere), very cooled-off pizza, time to deliver to table was not acceptable in any service industry I've worked in. I'll try again out of curiosity, but not if I'm in a hurry, or really counting on a stellar, crispy, thin crust pizza. If it goes better, I'll review accordingly. I wish things would have turned out better this time. Oh! And don't worry, I still tipped 40%. It's not all the servers fault and I'm not a monster!!....and all the customers got a cookie!

Sooooo disappointed! We've lived in the area for over 35 years and Tasty's Pizza was our favorite…read morepizza joint for years. But after they moved to the bowling alley location, things have changed. I got a large specialty today, which was $26.41. It was not any where near as good as it used to be. The sauce was bland, the sausage had no flavor and the crust was like a frozen pizza. It used to have a great tasty sauce...a little spicy with a hint of sweetness...the sausage was flavorful...you could taste the fennel in it...and the crust was light, crispy and cracker like. It wasn't very good a couple years ago when I tried it either, but I was hoping they went back to their roots. They did not. Mansetti's in St. Francis and Chanticlear in Oak Grove, are much, much better. Hell, even Domino's in St. Francis is better, which tells you all you need to know. I will never get a pizza there again. Such a shame.

The atmosphere of the place gives a nice relaxed and colorful vibe, and the drinks and food menu had a stunning variety. The music was performed by Javier Hernandez and his band and was beautiful. The music here will change day to day, but on this Friday evening ours was beautiful. It included piano, trumpet, bongos, drums and bass. Staff were all attentive without being overbearing and allowed us to enjoy the music, and the food ended up being fantastic. We got deviled eggs (some of the best I've ever had) and Okonomiyaki which in this case was a variation of fried sweet potato and was delicious. Drink variety ranges from fruity cocktails to wine to N.A. beer and they had something for everyone. My only complaint of the evening was the booth we sat in was not very comfortable and it required a lot of fidgeting. Other than this 5/5 experience.

I went on a night where the Berlin donated all proceeds to the Immigrant Defense Network, and I appreciated seeing them stand with their community. The staff explained the cause, and why they participated in the no buy day. This place was worth the hype, I put off going for months, but will be going back! Next time I go, I'll need to try a snack or get a drink! I think it would really elevate the experience.
