I am truly shocked this place only has 3.9 stars... on google it has a much more deserving 4.8 out of 3000 reviews! Anyhow on to the review: Before I even begin I should announce this PSA, Pinebrook is incredibly busy, with 2-4 hour waits on weekends. Expect to make reservations and wait up to 45 minutes for food to come out, it's well worth the wait. Have eaten here countless times with family and friends, I have never been disappointed coming here! Food is always fresh and amazing! The sticky burgers are fantastic! Serloin is AMAZING! Pizza is great too. And the occasional seafood.. especially the lobster and pistachio crusted mahi mahi with white wine cream sauce (yes you heard that right) are all to die for. Genuinely one of my favourite restaurants with amazing steaks and seafood! Better than most places in the twin cities!!! Very casual atmosphere and everything from burgers to upscale seafood and steak! And don't even get me started on the price.... $19.99 for a 8 oz Serloin, side, and salad?!? Amazing! Pine brook had a reputation for good food. We went there last night and things were far from excellent. I had fried shrimp which had little taste. The tartar wasn't very good, which is tough to make taste bad. My wife had a Rachel sandwich, which was so dry she couldn't eat it. No dressing what so ever. She asked for some sort of dressing and the waitress tried arguing with her that she didn't need anything. Since she couldn't eat it without it, the waitress acquiesced. The soda was mixture with water was not correct, so you drinking more water. Tough to tell what the flavor was. Maybe inflation has taken its toll on this restaurant and they didn't wan to increase prices? read more

I always like going to Pine Brook but the last time I was there I go they really need to have a makeover. It seemed dark and old. My daughter ordered a steak and it was quite hard for her to chew. I tasted it and it was tough. I ordered ribs and they did fall apart, but it was the type of ribs where the sauce was put on after it was cooked, so it was not into the meat while cooking. Also, there was a lot of gristle on the meat. I had more waste than I had meat. I am going to try a steak one more time and then I might have to change restaurants if that happens again. Many other other things are really good so maybe I should just stay away from the steak. Keep up making things yourself and not buying them frozen in a bag. I have been in Food Service and I know when that is happening and that really upsets me I stay away from those type of restaurants so don't lean too far. That way I'll be back. read more

We stopped to eat because we saw so many cars in the lot. People must like it if there are that many there. We were right. We had the meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Very good choice. We followed the meal with the Brownie Delight dessert. Oh my goodness. Pure delight and so big you really have to share it. The warm fudge oozing out of the middle was bliss. We also got a piece of carrot cake to go but it only made it to the car before we had to try it. Homemade, thick, moist goodness, covered in cream cheese frosting. The only thing that made our meal even better was our waitress. Such a sweet person that made us feel welcomed to a down home bar and restaurant that the locals love. She even invited us back and said we were her favorite customers. We will definitely be back again. read more

A great local restaurant & bar - 4 stars! After driving by many times, I finally stopped to checkout Pine Brook. I really like this place, it's big and it's hopping - very impressive. And it seems to be run like a super organized, well oiled machine. I knew it was a great place when I notice they have a meat raffle and another raffle to give away a 12 gauge shotgun. Nice! We grabbed 3 burgers and some beverages. The food was very good. They have an extensive menu. They offer way more than just burgers & fries. They also serve steaks and tons of other stuff. There's something for everyone. The service was excellent. Everyone seemed to be totally on top of their game. Despite the cool and rainy weather, there were tons of people enjoying a Friday evening. It is so obvious why locals love to go down to Pine Brook Inn! I had the pleasure of going twice during my cisit, and they did not disappoint!! Of course, when you are in Minnesota, you have to eat and try the walleye fish, and Pine Brook did not disappoint! They fry it, and it so golden and crisp, when you take a bite the inside melts in your mouth. I got it with au gratin, it was my first time having it and all I can say is wow. I did not know what I was missing until I tried the walleye!!! I 1000% recommend this dish to anyone! We also had the prime rib as well as the ribeye, which were cooked to perfection. Food is always delicious. The staff goes above and beyond. Our favorites are pork chops, burgers, chicken and salads.

The bartender was very unfriendly. I ordered spicy shrimp with Cole slaw. When I told the bartender there was a hair in my Cole slaw her response was "I would have brought you a new one." We ventured north from Ham Lake in search of broasted chicken only to discover that the Brass Rail is closed on Mondays. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise because we discovered the Pine Brook Inn. Busy place for a Monday so we chose to sit at the bar, bartender was excellent and the food and drinks were amazing. I got their special and it was broasted chicken I have ever had! The side of French Onion soup and their homemade ice cream dessert were awesome as well. The PineBrook Inn is a homer in for us! We were seated fast in the dining room, had a super speedy server, and our food was prepared well and super fresh ingredients. We had Prime Rib with a side of Grilled Shrimp, and a Chicken Taco Salad. Both were delicious, and we can't wait to come back to try the PineBrook Inn's Burgers and other menu items like the Mac-n-Cheese (with Grilled Chicken, Bacon Bits, & Broccoli. Looked delicious! We stopped in after a photo shoot in Cambridge and even though it was busy, we were seated quickly and waited on immediately. Lots of options looked good on the menu but the evening special as beef tips and mashed potatoes with choice of soup (Wild Rice or French Onion) and I knew what I was having! Soup came and was creamy and hearty and then warm rolls were good too. Dinner arrived after we finished soup and it looked nice on the plate, smelled good and had a good depth of flavor and silky richness. Prime rib is the best in the area! They are busy so make sure you have a reservation on the weekends or you will be waiting.

They can do better Prices are goid We eat here at least twice a month and meals are always perfect So I was severely disappointed last night when we went in and ordered ribeyes. I ordered rare and my husband medium Both were raw inside and burnt on the outside and smelled like gas! Neither was the way we ordered and COLD! And not RIB EYES! They were strip steaks! I only like rib eyes so these were AWFUL! Dry! My husband won't let me complain so I kept my mouth shut. Also the mashed potatoes were cold too. The clam chowder was awful too. We were pleasantly surprised by the service and food at this restaurant. We started with drinks at the bar. Grace took excellent care when making a Manhattan for my husband. The wine selection was good. After talking to several people at the bar about the menu, we decided to split the 8oz filet. We usually only order steaks at "Supper Club" style restaurants, but we gave it a try. We were glad we did. It was cooked perfectly and the size was just right for splitting. We added the grilled shrimp and had the onion soup and au gratin potatoes. The carrot cake is made from scratch so we took a piece with us. It was also delicious. We went for dinner tonight and my steak came over cooked, as someone that this happens to more frequently than not I was not in the mood to send it back. I was just going to deal with it, well someone else must have received a undercooked steak and said something because the owner came to ask me if my steak was over cooked. It would have been so much easier for him to go "well she didn't complain so we will just leave it" but that's not what he did. The staff went above and beyond to make up for me receiving the incorrect steak. It speaks volumes about a restaurant when you go in and have a less than perfect dining experience and still leave more than happy. If you're in the hood they have great burgers. We were pleased they had gluten free options and sweet potato fries. Very friendly staff and was quick to process our take out. Conveniently located next to Wolcyn Tree Farms, this place is a lifesaver after what seemed like a whole DAY of deciding the best looking 8' tall Fraser Fir in a little town of Cambridge, an hour drive north of the Twin Cities. IMO, this place is a burger joint.. except it's probably better than a burger joint because they serve beer on tap!! I had the plain jane burger with tater tots (check out the pics). My friend had their special burger, forgot the name, but it's double stacked with all kinds of meat!! I am in love with this place. Probably the best half a pound burger I've ever had... no joke. Oh yes, one last thing. You have to go here only when you hear that loud growl from your stomach telling you to FEED it or else it'll feed on itself. I went here with my friends starving and came out with an unbuttoned pants totally satisfied. And when I mean totally satisfied, I mean passing out in my friend's car on our drive back to Minneapolis. Just remember that if you do get a burger, you have to be ready to eat at least half a pound. They don't serve anything less, unless you get the kid's meal which is probably more like 1/3 pound rather than a 1/4. :P read more

Stopped in for a bloody mart last Sunday around 4pm. Place was busy, but not packed. Guessing a lot of lake traffic? Was stopping for a bump before meeting family for supper elsewhere. Anywho say at the bar and service was extremely attentive. Ordered two bloodys and two water. They were out in a flash. The mix looked heavy, but was surprising light and refreshing! The stock of goodies was fantastic as well (meat stick, olive, pepper and a pickle) and a beer chaser of choice to boot!! Not burned either, perfect amount of flavor. We did not see them make it so cannot comment on the doctoring that took place or what the mix was, but will definitely be back to try them for a meal very soon! read more

I rely enjoy my visits to the Pinebrook Inn. I have stopped in with various family members about 10 times over the last 3 years and have always been pleased with my meal. Much of their food is fresh and prepped in house. I know when you can tell everything is from frozen. I work in food service so I know what I'm talking about. We eat at the Pine Brook Inn probably about once a month, and it just seems to be getting better and better. We ate there last night, and the meal was absolutely wonderful! I had the broiled butterfly shrimp, and the two folks I was with had the combo platter of broiled butterfly shrimp and sirloin. I was raised in Cambridge, MN and grew up about five minutes from Pine Brook Inn. It's seen many changes since I started going there. I live in Arizona now, but I went home over Christmas and my dad asked if we wanted to come here for lunch. Since I hadn't been there in years, I was very curious and excited to go back! I'm very happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised at the state the restaurant is in! It looks like the inside has been upgraded and improved since the last time I was there. It was very nicely decorated for Christmas, which you gotta love. We had a party of 6 and were quickly seated and our waitress got drinks out pretty fast even though they seemed busy. I ordered broasted chicken and it was delicious! It came with a side and a salad which I thought was a lot of food for the price. They had some specials (a couple of people in our group got the walleye sandwich, which I sampled and that was also very yummy). My fiancés French Dip was also very tasty. My family that still goes there had mentioned several times that they've been very happy with the food served there now and I was happy to agree with them! It's really great to see a little local place doing so well, especially because it's become a nostalgic Minnesota place for me to go to when I come home. I ordered the fish fry and my guest ordered a bacon cheeseburger meal. The fish (cod) was crispy and not greasy. There bacon cheeseburger was very tasty. There was more than enough food. The fish fry that they have every Friday is all you can eat, but with 4 large pieces, salad, broccoli, and Cole slaw, I was full. Did I mention the service was fast and friendly?
