One of the best pancakes I've had!

What's not to love with this cute country cafe?! Stepping into the cafe, you immediately feel like a fun and friendly vibe. The cafe is a combination of country farm house style with a retro 50's theme. Our server was extremely friendly and they gave us some cost saving suggestions on the menu - super grateful they were looking out for us! I had the the fluffy pancakes, side of easy over eggs and extra crispy hash browns. The pancakes were delicious and it was as big as my head! My husband had the chicken fried steak and it was the best we've ever had! I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be going again!

Tuesday special: corn beef hash and eggs

It was just what I expected and was wanting. From the outside it's not much to look at. From the inside it does show its age but that all fine. As soon as it walked in I was greeted and was asked what I wanted to drink and given a menu. I went with my standard to be able to compare to other similar family style restaurants. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and upgraded the fries to onion rings. I was also asked if I wanted onions on my burger, most places don't ask. The burger was cooked perfectly. Two thick slices of bacon and American cheese, nicely melted on a toasted bun. The onion rings were really nice and thick but were a little on the greasy side. Seems like that style of Rings normally are greasy but so very good. They have all kinds of daily specials from breakfast to dinner. But it was the great service to was so outstanding. Not something you find in restaurants much are more. I'm really looking forward to returning, soon.

    Very cute, cozy restaurant

What a find! This place is great! Had the chicken soup with dumplings. Homemade and delicious. Hot roast beef was excellent, fork tender and mashed potatoes were perfect. Maybe I would ask for a little less gravy but it was delicious. They sell fresh frozen cuts of meat and cheeses. The burger was also delicious. Desserts looked so good! Met the owner having lunch with his board of directors. Good people and great food and very friendly service! Note: they've moved 3 miles down the road, right across from the Rodeo stand.

Giving a place one star because you don't like a sign is childish. This place is great.

For generations, it…read morehas been a must-visit destination for travelers heading, making it much more than just a restaurant. It's a Minnesota tradition. As soon as I announced I was going to Hinckley everyone who had been told me I just had to try Tobie's. What makes Tobies special is the combination of comfort food, an incredible bakery, and the nostalgic feeling that comes with walking through the doors. Fresh-baked breads, pastries, pies, cookies, and their famous caramel rolls line the bakery shelves, while their signature cornbread is a favorite that many visitors take home. Be sure to browse the gift shop, where you'll find locally made products, snacks, and their popular popcorn blends that make great road trip treats or souvenirs. Whether you're stopping for breakfast before exploring the area, grabbing lunch on your way to a Hinckley Knights game, or picking up baked goods for the drive home, Tobies is part of the experience. Our favorites were the apple fritter and the caramel roll. We also picked up bread and English muffins. If we had any more room we would have tried the ice cream, but there is always next time.

We made our stop about 8am on a Sunday in June. We didn't go to the sit-down restaurant, just the bakery counter. We picked out an apple fritter, maple fried roll, and cinnamon roll. My husband had a coffee, too. I'm very glad they had napkins and also packaged moist towelettes for us to take as we headed out. Everything was quite good. The apple fritter was special because it was still warm, and so fresh that it still had an airy texture. The bite of maple fried roll I had was good. The bulk of the cinnamon roll was mine, and wow, it was fantastic. I loved the generous amount of frosting, and the bread was soft and good. There are many more things here I want to try, but they will need to wait for another trip north!
