Don't let the outside fool you! The food was awesome! There is parking in the back and it seems that back door is the main entrance. We parked on the street and went in a front door. We did not see any signs of "please wait" so we grabbed an open booth. When I was returning to table form the restroom I saw the "please wait to be seated" sign near the back door. This was another pleasant surprise. They have several combinations offered in several styles. I got the corned beef with red potatoes and ordered it as a skillet (They'll also serve as an omelet or in a wrap). This is easily the best corned beef I've ever had. It's something they make daily, so if your heart is really set on corned beef, I'd go sooner rather than later. They offer red roasted potatoes, hash-browns, and tots as the side. The red roasted potatoes had a hint of rosemary and olive oil and were fantastic. The eggs were cooked exactly how I'd want them to be, and the service was beyond good. Our server was really busy, but she took the time to check in often and kid around with us. She likes her job and it shows. Oh My Goodness, I love this place! I am obsessed with their pancakeS, homemade corned beef hash, breakfast burritos and chicken salad!!! The positive.....food was good, when we finally got it. Got there after the breakfast rush, so we were 1 of 3 tables without food, so being overly busy was not the issue. It was over an hour from when we walked in until we got our food. The "wait" staff was.....something. I got to refill my coffee cup, twice, since our server was no where to be found, after drinks were delivered and food was ordered. At least the wait staff was able to eat.....the pizza that they ordered from another place, in front of the patrons, who were waiting for food. After food was finally delivered, we informed the server that we only had two settings of silverware, there were three of us. After waiting another 10 minutes and seeing our waitress emptying trash cans, we just decided to get our own silverware. Again, and least the food was pretty decent.... read more

Service was kind of lack and the food was disappointing compared to my last visit 2 years ago. Everything i tasted was greasy. Sausage patties were very greasy and the sausage gravy laddled over my potato pancakes was very oily. The sausage must be poor quality. I asked for me rye toast to be very well done and both my mom and i's were limp. Reason for looking dark in pictures is its dark rye. I will not be back because 2 places within a few blocks from here are by far better! read more

We have a family cabin nearby and come up for events at the racetrack several times a year. We stop EVERY morning we go to the track to have breakfast because it's so good. Have had the Biscuits 'n Gravy, Everything Omelet, the Skillet (hellooooo, hash browns, veggies, meat, eggs, doused in hollandaise!). My family and I stopped at The skillet for lunch but My husband and I went for the breakfast . We both had the best omelette and hashbrowns . One of my kids had a fabulous buttermilk pancake and my other daughter who had lunch loved their chicken fingers . The only minus .... they had only one waitress working even thought very efficient If busier that could be a problem . We did not wait for our food too long . Way too over priced! The food is ok. Perkins, the barn, and north winds are far better and way cheaper. Small, and pretty dirty. The staff was on edge the whole time like the health inspector or owner was there or something, it was just kind of awkward and uncomfortable. I haven't returned since. read more
