My drink was good just not what I had ordered! I ordered a matcha latte and this had a mix of coffee in it as well. I believe the mixer was not cleaned out which is why the drink was half matcha half coffee. Still good but it hadn't been what I ordered. I also found their prices to be pretty high, this matcha was over $7. Plenty of free parking which was good though. read more

First time here in a longggggg time... like, i think the last time i visited Coco Moon was probably upwards of 15 yrs ago. Was on my way to St Cloud, and figured I'd give CM a shot -- as opposed to my usual Caribou pick-me-up. I thought they may have a better pastry selection and service - -WRONG! I ordered a double cappuccino and a blueberry white chocolate (i think?) scone. My tab was over $6.00! Scoff! But even worse was that was the service. Not friendly... actually very short with me, and not in a welcoming way. "What can I get ya?" -"Ummm... a double cappuccino". "You want that wet?" - "Huh?? What the heck is wet?" "More froth or milk" - "I just want a normal cappuccino" "WETTT!! She wants a Wet Double Cappuccino". - - Sheesh - - do you really have to say it that loud? WTH... - - "Your scones... are they moist or more on the dry side?" "Moist" Really... i dunno. I tried..... but I highly doubt I'll be back. Overpriced + short, crass service = not happy customer (The barista {who did bang the espresso thing several times} was atleast friendlier than the cashier person, when she handed me my cappuccino. This is a great little coffee/tea shop in downtown Brainerd! You have to stop in and see it! We were in town to check out the antique shops and whatnot...stopped in for a tasty beverage...and got the scoop from the owner about where to go. She gave us great suggestions on stores to visit and what to do while in town. As for the drinks, they were splendid. They have all the usual suspects you'd except to see at a coffee shop, plus some other originals ones that you don't always find. I ordered a hot cocoa (I'd had enough caffeine already by that point) and it tasted like there was real chocolate in it -- not the instant stuff! The other drinks looked and smelled great too. Next time, if I'm not already spiked up on caffeine, I'll go with an espresso drink! read more

I almost passed this place as I was driving back for the cabin. But if you are in the mood for one of the best turtle ice coffee's you have to stop and grab one. The employees there were the greatest, and the prices will beat most of the other well know coffee houses. read more

There's always 5 fresh-brews in the airpots-- dark, medium, 2 flavored, and a decaf. The baristas are always friendly and service is prompt. The slightly kitschy gifts and knick-knacks that are available for purchase aren't thrust upon the patron, which is nice. The espresso used isn't super-top quality, but it's not bitter either. definitely worth a stop when in town, and it feels better to give your money to a local business rather than a corporate entity anyhow. read more

I LOVE Coco Moon! The atmosphere is quaint, comfortable and relaxing. The selection of coffee and tea flavor combinations is unmatched by any other coffee shop in town. While they may be scant on the pastries, they are always fresh, and tasty. My favorite breakfast at Coco Moon is a honey oat bagel (toasted) with honey walnut cream cheese. Awesome! I've had the 4-shot large caramel latte' and on special occasions enjoy the Carbomb coffee drink. The owners are very friendly and if you frequent later in the afternoon, (about 2:30 pm) the place will be full. It's my favorite spot to meet people for casual business conversations, connect with friends or do some school work (hop on their free WIFI). I am definitely a fan! read more

Let me start by saying, what impressed me first was the friendliness of the staff in allowing someone to walk in so close to closing time (like within 5 minutes) and be willing to get a gal a cup of something hot! I ordered the LunarDelight Nutty Irishman which had Macadamia Nut and Irish Cream in it, then I proceeded to turn it into a Mocha (which is chocolate added). They then told me, we usually top the whipped cream with chocolate and honey, "would I like mine with both, just one or none?" Hello Chocolate and Honey, YES Please!!! I also grabbed a white chocolate raspberry scone, OH WOW, if that isn't homemade, slap me sideways IT SURE tasted HOMEMADE and DELICIOUS!!!! I love this place, last semester when I went here twice a week with 2 of my friends for class it was always so nice and calm and relaxing. I will say that it is a bit chilly inside temperature wise but other than that it is amazing. I love their flavored coffee drinks especially happy camper, and carbomb, those two are my favorites. And if you're looking for something good to eat their french toast bagels are the bomb, they are amazing get it with just plain cream cheese and they are my favorite bagels. The coffee was good, however the owner/cashier doesn't understand business or customer service. I found an old loyaltee card under the seat of my car. I asked her what I could get with it and she said nothing the stamps aren't mine and unceremoniously proceeded to tear it up in front of me. After a bit I asked her if she thought I forged it. She said no it was probably from the previous owner! Could have been more polite, could have given me the free small cup of coffee and chalked it up to good will. Caribou next time. read more

I believe this is the last independent coffee shop left in Brainerd that really qualifies as a coffee house. Good selection of roasts ready to go, they sell by the bag if you're looking for something different than the chains offer, good seating area with nice booths, and the staff is friendly and competent. It's personally not my cup of tea because of the atmosphere, it feels a little too much like some of the big chains who are trying to be quirky, kitschy, and local, but this place was genuinely all that before they started doing it ubiquitously. Unfortunately that feel plus the bright cheery atmosphere isn't conducive to me wanting to sit around and sip on coffee, though if I'm getting something to go or a bag to make at home/work it's where I go without qualm. Of course for many people the atmosphere is exactly what they are looking for, I just happen to be more inclined toward Picasso Blue Period than Norman Rockwell. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars, it truly is A-OK, and to some extent I'm a fan, I'm just not Yay! about it, but I'm rounding up as this is not in any way a negative review of what is a quintessential coffee house. Regardless, hopefully my opinion with admitted personal bias in tastes will help some poor Joe decide where to get his cup thereof. read more
