Delicious pizza! I tried the pizza of the month - bbq bacon jalapeño popper & chicken bacon ranch! I love how the pizza had sauce drizzled ontop too! The crust was great too! I'm so excited to go back and try many more flavors as there are a few in the menu I really want to try! As far as the ambiance it was pretty quiet at the time I went. It was clean. Fast service. I noticed a great special happens Sundays 11-2 all you can eat pizzas and half priced starters! (Not sure how long that will be in place) If you have not tried slice on oak I highly encourage giving them a try! Not ready to commit to a whole pizza don't worry you can buy just a slice! We were in town for a card show and decided to stop in because the photos online looked amazing. The buffalo dish was presented differently than what was pictured on the website, and the pizzas were a bit smaller and thinner than expected. I ordered the large Pit Happens BBQ pizza to share. We ordered at the counter and the staff brought the pizza out to us. I enjoyed the pizza, the toppings were tasty and the crust had a nice crispiness to it. I would say a bit more toppings could be nice even just a few more onions tossed on, but that didn't take away from the experience. They also have a pour your own drink wall which is neat! What a find! Wife and I both agreed this was the best pizza crust we have had in a LONG TIME! Thin crust with a nice crisp edge. Almost like a pretzel crispy (without all the salt). Only place I have had a better thin crust was in Milan, Italy. Their mix of speciality pizzas is awesome. We had the seafood (shrimp, lump crab, diced red pepper and seasoned with old bay. You could really taste the crab (and it was real crab, not that whitefish imitation krab). We started with the stuffed bread. They had three to choose from and we had read on other post about the spinach stuffed, but upon seeing the hot coppa, we knew we had to try that. We were so impressed. Italian spicy salami, wrapped with peppers (don't worry these are Minnesota friendly) and cheese, then baked to perfection. They also have a good selection of tap beers that you can pay by the ounce. So no need to order a whole pint just to try something new. This place is off the beaten path, but we'll worth the trek. We will be back. read more

The family and I were up in Brainerd for a getaway and in search of a good pizza place. The reviews for Slice On Oak were great, so we decided to give it a try. Wow, they were spot on. This place did not disappoint in the least. Great atmosphere, pour your own beer taps, a couple games for the kids and fantastic pizza! Everything about this pizza is phenomenal, from the crust to the pepperoni. The crust was not doughy and not overly crispy, but just right where it should be. The tomato sauce was full of flavor and the perfect amount, which is hard to come by (usually there's not enough sauce). The mozzarella cheese was superior quality and not overly greasy. And the best part was the price was reasonable. I've paid much more for low quality pizza in the past, so this was a huge bonus. We also had the cheese bread and it was some of the best I've ever had. Don't forget to try the pistachio gelato; excellent. If you're in the Brainerd lakes area make the drive over to this place and check it out. You'll be happy you did! read more

It didn't have that fresh look or taste, quite disappointing after reading some reviews. Slice on Oak is the best restaurant in Brainerd, period. We went there on a SAT night recently and feasted on pizza and garlic toast and gelato-type ice cream. Their standard pizza crust is thin and it melts in your mouth. The garlic break is creative and we devoured it. The gelato is made there from scratch every morning and you need to save room for it.
