Wedge salad with ahi and bacon
    Darcie B.

Everything was absolutely lovely! We had no idea what to expect and were blown away. Angie was a great server and easily coerced the chef to add bacon to my wedge salad...get it with them seared tuna. I literally ate all the ahi straight from the plate. Tasty!

0/10 would not go back. My mom and I went here and sat on the patio on a Wednesday night. Inside had maybe 2 tables. Outside had 4 including us. (There was at least 6 staff members total) We immediately ordered a tap beer and a vodka soda and it took 40 minutes for our drinks. Absolutely ridiculous. Then our server asked if we wanted to put in our food order before we even got our drinks. I would like the preface that the server was nice- but not once did a manager come out or anything to explain the long wait. We were simply told "sorry the bartender got backed up" backed up with what? There's like nobody inside. Then we ordered food and it just looked like shit. Presentation was ugly. It was a turkey melt and barely was warm. I would not recommend this place at all.

Notch 8 should be called Top Notch! My boyfriend and I had a top-notch experience. Kristi helped with taking our food order and pull tabs. At Notch 8 you grab a menu when you enter and order your food at the counter/bar. I was told about the taco pizza by a previous customer who visited Notch 8 and during my visit, it was no longer on the menu, so I asked about it and apparently, it had been removed from the menu. Thankfully Kristi asked the cooks if they would still be able to cook me the taco pizza and they were able to do that for me. We arrived at Notch 8 during a Vikings game and come to find out they have half-priced pizza during the Vikings game. WHAT A DEAL! I tried 3 types of pizza during the visit: Taco Pizza, Nick Friggen' ZA 2.0, and Sweet & Spicy. Of those three my favorite was sweet and spicy. I enjoy the table tops as they were all different and creatively designed. One table was dedicated to Anthony Bourdain, wheres waldo table, the magic gathering table, and many more.

We had an opportunity to visit this place last evening. Very nice place with a pleasant atmosphere. Great railroad theme and is located near and active railroad so you might see a train! This is an order at the counter style place, so you walk in, grab a menu and place your order at the counter. A waiter then brings it to your table. It was a rather slow evening, so it was an easy order and the wait time was under 10 minutes for our meal. The drinks are also self-serve at a fountain style area that also includes your take home boxes for leftovers. The meal was very good, and I order the hamburger that included the brisket which came in the form of slices. It was also served with beer cheese sauce which I ordered on the side because sometimes places go crazy and douse the burger. The beer cheese sauce was good as I applied it lightly to the burger. Curly fries were very good, and they were plentiful, in fact, I left some on my plate. As for the value of the meal? Nowhere near the $20 price tag for a burger! I would come back to try to pizza and chicken wings. That seemed to be a better value and it looked tasty! Overall, a 4 star because of the value, service and food quality were both very good.

It would have been nice if this restaurant had updated their hour here on Yelp. Just arrived to find that they are closed on Sunday.

The Pickled Loon Saloon of Emily - Crab cake sandwich

Everything about our meal was perfect!…read more Background: we've been to almost every restaurant within 30 miles of Crosslake, most many times. We somehow missed this place. We would rank this meal as one of our best in the area. I had the crab cake sandwich, upgraded to include the dinner salad. The sandwich is one of the best things I've ever eaten. And, am pretty sure the amazing blu cheese dressing was house made. I tasted my husband's food, and can confirm... his cheeseburger upgraded to have the Cesar salad and the shrimp bisque was FANTASTIC!!! Will definitely be back!

As I read the menu for this restaurant, I was getting that excited feeling that I stumbled upon a place where they really know good food. The Italian nachos looked promising as well as the reuben egg rolls. Sandwiches, wraps, burgers, oooh! What's this is see? Omaha Hereford ribeye? IMHO black angus is highly overrated. I love a good heffer! So we seat ourselves, the place is popping busy, they're having an all you can eat crab leg special this Friday night. We start ordering off the menu. Beverages to start, nothing fancy, just a good local craft beer and a summer mocktail. Appetizers, my birthday, I get to choose. I decided on the reuben egg rolls. For the main course, my bride orders the sirloin and I order the ribeye, we both get salad. The egg rolls arrive first, looking very homemade. OMFG, they are soooo good. Watch out for the juicy squirt (fresh sauerkraut). Ok, house salad - you'd think nothing special needs to be said about a house salad, we'll let me tell you, house made croutons, house made dressings. It's these small little touches that make a big difference. The steaks were fantastic, the sides perfectly done. The service- on point. The only drawback was the little black flies bugging my legs throughout our visit. But hey, it's northern Minnesota, it comes with the territory and can be easily fixed with a couple of Vector or Lavex bug catchers. Overall, I shall finish pontificating. My suffencies have been sorrencified!

Friendly service, plus the 3 appetizers we had were delicious. We also had mixed drinks plus try out the "You pour your microbrew" Where they give you a card. You go pour your owe beer. However outside on the far side by the side parking lot. Beware of the walkway. Their is a dropoff. You could fall and hurt yourself. I noticed a few people didn't catch that and stumble. Hopefully management will place a yellow tap to bring attention to the dropoff. Check out the picture. I added text. I will be back for the food.

The menu is pretty simple but includes burgers, appetizers, 2 salads, a couple of sandwiches and 3 or 4 full dinners. I tried the Walleye sandwich and it was really good! The fish was flavorful and flaky with a light tempura- like batter and the fillet was served on a fresh, grilled hoagie style roll. The sandwich came with lettuce and tomato but they weren't really necessary. A bland yellow tar tar sauce also came with the fish. (The tar tar sauce needed onion, pickle and fresh parsley to complement the Walleye). Sandwiches come with a choice of cole slaw, fries or tots. I had the fries which were excellent potato peel type shaped. Sometimes restaurants serve a Walleye sandwich that doesn't taste like or have the texture of Walleye but that wasn't the case here. This sandwich was really Walleye, not some mystery fillet that fell off the back of the Sysco truck. My companion ordered the California burger and pronounced it good. She ate everything except the fresh red onion so I think it was more than acceptable. Service was fine for a local bar which is basically what 612 Station is. If you find yourself downtown Brainerd, give it a go. In my opinion you can't really go wrong with a cold beer and a great Walleye sandwich.

With family living near by I thought this would be a great location to begin my journey. As you pull up the spot looks quaint with a metal barn exterior and a large yard and tented patio. Walking in it felt very industrial chic, with wood and black metal interior design. The bartender was absolutely fabulous, we had great conversation and she was able to help my brother and I select a few cocktails that we could be interested based on our preferred pallets. The distillery has a main cocktail menu along with a seasonal menu with approximately 6-8 specialty drinks. My first choice 2.5/5 Rover Club - consisting of gin, egg white, raspberry, and lemon. The initial taste was nice, however the sweet of the raspberry and the sour of the lemon almost seemed to neutralize the drink leaving me wanting a bit more flavor. My brother's first selection 3.5/5 Golden Hands - consisting of whiskey, egg yolk, cinnamon, and lemon. I'm not a huge cinnamon fan like he is, however this had a nice consistency and could make a great drink for those looking for something outside of the box. My second choice 4.5/5 Aurora Haze - consisting of Aurora gin, grapefruit, and lemon. Their "grapefruit martini". This cocktail was right up my alley! The drink was slightly Tarte with a sweeter finish and the presentation was beautiful! I am a sucker for purple gins. Would most definitely return for this cocktail. My brother's second selection 4/5 French Toast - ingredients unknown. It was very creamy with a nice touch of cinnamon. It gave me the impression of drinking the leftover milk in your Cinnamon Toast Crunch bowl. This cocktail was my brother's favorite of the night. Overall this was a nice experience! Even though my first drink wasn't particularly my cup of tea, my last cocktail made me feel better about their selections! My brother also really enjoy his two cocktails.
