We always love making a quick pit stop into Chico's Place on our way to Bay Lake and Rutgers. We grab a couple cold Premiums and a plate of tacos. The tacos aren't spectacular, but they are solid. I always get a chuckle out of the 2 sauces they offer - mild or spicy. I honestly can't tell the difference. I know Minnesotans can be a little spice adverse and Chico's stays true to this tradition. They also have pull tabs (I wish they weren't the machine version) and a billiards table. Cool place and chill folks at this place. If you're on your way to Bay Lake or Milac's Lake stop in Chico's for a cold one and tacos.

I use to love to stop here on the way up North. The Mexican food was great! With that being said... It has been under new ownership and the food has gone downhill. However, they have a great happy hour! 2 beers, 2 sodas, and 2 apps for a bill of $9 and some change. The beer is really cold, so I will continue to stop for well needed beer break!

Second time eating at Chicos place. The food took a little longer than I would've liked. I thought they brought me the wrong order, but to my surprise my burrito was buried under a pile of fresh veggies and cheese. I had the jalapeño poppers for an app which resulted in me barely touching this burrito. Just like my first visit, I got a pile of food for not a lot of money $12. I will definitely be back.

We stop here every year on our way to the cabin in Outing, MN. It is about the halfway point, so we need a good place to take a break! The atmosphere is great! It gives you the log cabin bar feel. They have pool tables, darts, pull tabs, games, etc. There is fun to be had for all! Their drinks are cheap. I understand it is not a metropolitan area, but after living in the cities, I love it! I would stick to cocktails though. If you are looking for good beer, this is not the place. I have only had a couple of appetizers here. They were mediocre, bar food. However, it hit the spot on a long drive. You wont be impressed nor disappointed. I have not eaten at the restaurant though. Usually it is closed by the time we get that far up north. Service is pleasant and the bartender is always willing to help us document our road trip! If you are ever driving from the cities to anywhere in the middle of Minnesota, stop here! We do it once per year!

Actually pretty impressed with this place based on it's location. It is kind of in the middle of no where but it seems a lot of people stop in on their way to or from the lake on weekends. I tried their Amigo's dinner and it was huge! The enchilada was decent, the taco was the best part, the tostada was acceptable, the burrito was mediocre, and the rice and beans were standard. Obviously not the best Mexican food you'll have since it is pretty Americanized, but it is good for what it is. Also a little tip if you like something a little more than Minnesota spicy... they have another hot sauce that they don't bring out right away unless you ask for it so give that a shot to give your dish a little extra kick.

We usually sit at the bar and get apps. Nachos are huge and delicious. Locals are nice. Good pit stop on our way up north.

Anyhow on to the review: Before I even begin I should announce this PSA, Pinebrook is incredibly busy, with 2-4 hour waits on weekends. Expect to make reservations and wait up to 45 minutes for food to come out, it's well worth the wait. Have eaten here countless times with family and friends, I have never been disappointed coming here! Food is always fresh and amazing! The sticky burgers are fantastic! Serloin is AMAZING! Pizza is great too. And the occasional seafood.. especially the lobster and pistachio crusted mahi mahi with white wine cream sauce (yes you heard that right) are all to die for. Genuinely one of my favourite restaurants with amazing steaks and seafood! Better than most places in the twin cities!!! Very casual atmosphere and everything from burgers to upscale seafood and steak! And don't even get me started on the price.... $19.99 for a 8 oz Serloin, side, and salad?!? Amazing! If you're in the area stop by play some pinball, and eat some good food. Don't forget the reservations. Thank me later.

My daughter ordered a steak and it was quite hard for her to chew. I tasted it and it was tough. I ordered ribs and they did fall apart, but it was the type of ribs where the sauce was put on after it was cooked, so it was not into the meat while cooking. Also, there was a lot of gristle on the meat. I had more waste than I had meat. I am going to try a steak one more time and then I might have to change restaurants if that happens again. Many other other things are really good so maybe I should just stay away from the steak. Keep up making things yourself and not buying them frozen in a bag. I have been in Food Service and I know when that is happening and that really upsets me I stay away from those type of restaurants so don't lean too far. That way I'll be back.

Prices were fair and not very expensive. The only thing i would consider is that if you don't like loud noises or lots of people, I wouldn't recommend it. It is usually loud and full. Another thing is bringing kids there, there is probably going to be some bad language but it's up to you as a parent to make those choices. Overall food is very good and a great place overall, it's pretty much up to your preference.

That being said, the place is legitimately a great business within a small town that does not possess many options. First and foremost, these guys lead the way with a really nice beer selection. It does not remain static like many of their competitors' lineups. They often change their taps (something like twenty or more) and take chances with unique flavors. How many bars have a Salted Nut Roll beer? From a food perspective, I can say that while not having tried a ton, that which I have has all been on the better side. Daily specials and HH are also something to expect, with the former often as unique as you might get. And if you're in the mood for a good burger, I would liken Kev's to a Boulder Taphouse, all in ways similar to quality, portion, and creation. At the crux, though, are the staff and owners. They are great people that I consistently choose to surround myself with, hardworking, friendly and fun. It is a young atmosphere within a sports/burger-bar environment. One-hundred percent worth trying if you are new to the area or passing through town.
