WOW! 10/10 everything do not look for brunch in Charlottesville anywhere else until you've tried this spot. Parking - a little difficult because it's in downtown next to the hospital but there is a guest lot behind the restaurant Waiting time - wasn't bad at all... we waited for about 20 minutes in the front area but we were able to order a mimosa and stand while we waited so time flew by Bayou bowl - Cajun heat (not super spicy but well seasoned) and elements of southern comfort made this dish a hit with my hubby Smoked salmon Bennie - WOW, let me start off by saying how much I hate trying to cut into an English muffin for a normal Benedict haha... they replaced the muffin with their own recipe called a "grit cake" and this is a life changer. Grit cake was lightly fried, gooey but maintained its overall shape, and seasoned to perfection. Salmon was perfect. Egg was poached to perfection. Hollandaise was most likely made by angels. Even the roasted mixed veggies were fantastic... this was worth ordering every time. Service was amazing and I believe it was a young college student so it was nice to have that around UVA. Will definitely be back!!!!

Friendly staff, good food, great outdoor patio seating. If you're lucky to get seated on the outdoor porch area, the view is pretty. Breve coffee: pretty, creamy, yummy. Can't go wrong with either the farm bell Benedict or the southern Benedict. The Benedict eggs weren't runny but more of like a soft boiled egg. I would come back!

Brunch in Charlottesville is always a delight, and Farm Bell Kitchen fits the mood quite well. If you're able to sit outside I highly recommend it, they have a covered canopy around back with flowers and plenty of space and seating. Brunch was great, my brunch burrito with brisket hitting the spot between salty and savory exactly as ordered. The drinks were pretty if not the most flavorful. Our server was very kind and attentive, just be ready for competing with others if it's pretty busy.

Farm Bell Kitchen is an award-winning Southern brunch spot in Charlottesville, set inside a beautifully restored house. We ordered the Bayou Bowl, packed with shrimp, sausage, local grits, cheese, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, peppers, and onions and the house brioche French toast topped with bourbon-glazed Bananas Foster. We also had lattes. Everything was tasty, and the service was quick and friendly. A great place for a relaxed and satisfying brunch.

Great spot to grab brunch. Chicken and waffles are awesome and everyone got loaded Bloody Marys. I'd recommend making a reservation beforehand.

Cute little place on main street in Charlottesville. Has a good menu and my family enjoyed the eggs Benedict. I had the two breakfast tacos which were not very tasty. The hash browns were cold and the tacos bland. They provided and watered down avocado guacamole that was obviously sitting in the refrigerator for a long time and settled. I know these places need to turn customers and food quickly but the quality and attention to detail wasn't there on my meal. My family expressed great delight in their meals and the coffee they had. So I recommend trying this place because you may find "the meal" of the week and I hope you do. Nice wait staff and reception.

Nice place, great service. The avocado with egg was interesting. Egg yolk only, baked into the avocado, the avocado was still slightly cool. Chix and waffle were delicious. Also, I asked for jelly and it was so good! Homemade peach, not a typical jelly. Just fresh peaches and some sugar.

Yum! Parking is a real problem - especially on weekends around brunch. Like, almost so bad you don't want to come back... Inside is cute and we had a reservation so were immediately sat and greeted by our server, Paige. She was great and very friendly. I chose a mixed juice (no alcohol) and it was smaller than I expected - served in a very short glass for $5 (not highball like the water). Hubs got black coffee and it was fresh and delicious. They have a great menu and I love the play on words and TV and other themes like "Game of Scones" for their four scone option. In the end, my husband ordered the Biscuit board which came with ham, mustard, gravy, some jam and butter with four biscuits so he could construct whatever he wanted and I went with the white chocolate strawberry pancakes. The food was out very quickly - probably within 5 minutes honestly. I went to the bathroom and it was out by the time I came back. My pancakes were wonderful - huge portion of three fluffy buttermilk pancakes - and the texture and flavor were top notch. I devoured them. Would def. come back but the parking makes me cringe!

I love old Victorian houses. I was very disappointed by the food and the service. Our waiter was non existent. I had to ask a bus guy for water. He said he was not allowed but he gave me water anyways. The food is way over priced. I realize C'Ville is very expensive. However, the portion to price is absurd. This feels like another weird over priced place that isn't worth it. I paid $18 for this small bowl. The meat was super dry and chewy. It tasted like pot roast so with an egg it made it weird. I would never pay such a price for such a dish had I known. I paid for my friend so with tax and tip I paid over $50 for these two small bowls. With having to pay to park and walk several blocks from to get here is not worth it. I had to pay $6 to park. So I paid $60 for this....disappointment. I wanted to like this place but no.

Super cute restaurant that's in an old house. I came here with friends Monday morning for breakfast. I know they get very busy on the weekends and reservations are recommended, so I made a reservations for us just in case but it wasn't too busy. Our server was Mason very friendly and attentive! I got the iced mocha with almond milk and for food the avocado baked egg which came with hashbrowns, toasted baguette, and tomato chutney and then I added bacon. It was delicious!! Also their items are reasonably priced too. Recommend coming here for breakfast!

Good flavors, atmosphere, and service. However the eggs Benedict was overcooked (not runny at all) and the breve coffee was way overfilled with milk.

Ask the Community - Farm Bell Kitchen

Do they have on grounds parking?

I don't believe so. Street parking or a parking garage within walking distance at the Corner

    Do they take reservations?

    Yess!

Do they have anything gluten free?

They have salads and items you can get without bread. There isn't a gluten free bun/bread from what I remember.

My croissant tasted as though it was sourced from Costco; it had been heated up, which made it marginally palatable. I asked for a large cappuccino and got a drink that tasted as though a sugary syrup had been added to it. There was a huge volume of milk, which I guess was OK, and a small amount of OK-tasting espresso. The breakfast was convenient enough that I figured I'd go back for a second round the next morning. However, when I arrived at the coffee bar on Day Two, I was told that the person who would be staffing it was "running late" and that the croissants had not yet arrived. The front desk person found it in her heart to pour me some coffee from the huge urn at the coffee bar. I was grateful for the free lobby coffee but headed outside for my official breakfast. Outside was better.

There is a good amount of seating with two large shared-space tables and smaller circular tables, and there is free wifi access. The cafe offers coffee, tea, and draft options. I've only come in for coffee and tea twice and felt that it was overpriced for what you get. They only offer their iced drinks in the large option, and it's probably because the iced drink consists of 8-10 large ice cubes that take up a majority of the space of the cup. The iced chai and hot soy latte tasted good, but were standard. The food was kind of meh - I ordered a biscuit which was barely warmed up. Overall, an okay cafe (probably not my first choice to go to), but it will give you a caffeine fix if you need it.

As usual, I'm looking for the best coffee roaster to go to, and Lone Light Coffee was on the top of my list in this area. The coffee shop is on the smaller side, but it was warm and comfortable. The baristas were nice and three of them gave me their input on which single origin I should choose for my pour-over. POUR-OVER - MKT Price +6.50 for Mohammed Aba Nura - Ethiopia (tasting notes: Strawberry, white chocolate, hazelnut) I wanted the craziest tasting option they had, and they recommended this one since it's pretty popular and well-liked among customers. However, one of the barista said he didn't really like it himself. I figured I should still try it. The sips I had while it was still warm was pretty juicy and sweet, but I really didn't like the notes once it cooled down (about 20 minutes later), which tasted sour and off-putting. I should have listened to that one barista and went with a different single origin option. Overall, good roaster -- just unfortunate that I tried something that wasn't for me. The baristas seem knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. I would love to come back next time and try another single origin offering.
