Also, this is kind of like the sports bar if you are staying here. Before I get into service let's talk about the space. It is an interestingly set up space that attempts to jam a lot into it. There are obviously tables and a bar. In addition to that, there is a fireplace with seating around it and two areas that can accommodate different things. One having a high top family table, the other having two pool tables. Televisions adorn the walls for the sporting events. Then there is artwork and pieces on the wall. Check out the American flag that is from the War of 1812 era. Now, the service, this will be broken up a bit. We were immediately greeted and seated. Water was served and menus in hand. They were very attentive at the start. They came over and this is where I started to question the service. They went around the table and took the orders without any type of trouble. Their menu isn't large in the least. Few items in each category which makes it easy. Seeing Fish and Chips on the menu, I went with that. I stated this is what I wanted and the server asked me did I want chips or fries. I had to pause there for a minute and just stared at him. I said to him that the "chips" portion of the selection is fries. The server was adamant that "chips" meant potato chips. Again I stared, tried to explain again that chips are fries, it's a British dish. In the end, I just said fries. I couldn't understand how this wasn't something known by the staff. I was still a bit worried about my selection until it showed up at the table. It did come out as fish and chips (fries). I was at ease for a moment or two. However, it didn't hit the mark. The fish was a decent size. But the breading definitely did not stick. When I started to move the fish around on the plate and flipped it over, you could see that the breading was nonexistent. Which meant the fish fillet was directly fried, making it tough. The slaw served with this was lackluster. Mostly it was pretty bland, a big disappointment. The star of the show, toss up between the chips (fries) and tartar sauce. Definitely needed that tartar sauce to mask the missing breading. I'm sure if you come here while it is busy, the kitchen has been well greased, it would be a better experience than what I had.

Food is OK quality and prices are reasonable if not inexpensive on their specials, like the steak and ribs for only $25. Good flavor and cooked ok but a nice combo for the price. Service is OK with some wait staff being more efficient than others. There were some who knew their customers by name and took time out to talk with them but that slowed down service a little for the rest of us. Nothing too bad but you might wait a bit for refills or something you need after your food or drinks arrive. We had cool fries and it took a bit for the staff to come back to our table to check in the dining room. Similar response time for wait staff outside when we needed condiments that were ordered but didn't come out with our entrees. Cigar menu is an ok selection where there is something for everyone; however, our experience was the place ran out of the first four cigars we selected and each time the wait staff had to come back to our table to tell us they were out of that cigar. Wait staff didn't know what cigars were in stock and which they were out of. Overall, very good experience for both inside the dining area and outside where you can smoke. Recommend The Bungalow Lakehouse as it is a good experience and has a variety of experience options.

Also, their happy hour is between 3-6pm every Monday-Friday. They have an impressive selection of beers and ciders, both imported and locally sourced. The service was also great - our waiter was really nice and funny! I ordered the beer flight, which comes with 4- 5oz flavors. I asked our waiter to choose and he brought me a blackberry and blueberry lemon cider which was sweet and delicious. The sweet potato fries were a good pairing, but were a small portion and not great for sharing. Also, the Cajun Pasta took a while to come out, but was sooo flavorful. There was a good ratio of pasta to sauce to sausage to shrimp. It was a beautiful portion, but a little expensive for a sports bar. Overall, I would recommend coming here with a group of friends for a happy hour or to drink casually.

When we saw that the line up came with a sweet wine, we politely asked the server if there was any way to switch that specific pour for another wine. She immediately said it was "not possible". The wine sat there untouched. Mind you, we had purchased a full bottle for the table along with the added wine pairings. It was a simple modification for 3 OUNCE pours. Ridiculous. The pours were also inconsistent. The first two courses and wine pairings were exceptional and delicious. As was our appetizer and bottle of wine. When it came to the last course, the dessert. It really left a bad taste in our mouths. The crème brûlée looked like scrambled eggs. It was runny and lumpy. It looked more like cottage cheese than a custard. Like the sweet wine, we all left it untouched. We explained our grievances to the server and she said that she would not tell the chef because he was "sensitive" and she was too afraid of him. As a former server myself, I couldn't help but be upset. When it comes to customer service, your job is to have your guests leave happy and wanting to come back. That was absolutely not the case for us. The fact that we spent $600 for such a horrible experience is laughable. Don't waste your money!
