No-showed for my move, and when I called to reschedule (they were going to be at least 6 hours late by this point), the owner (Jim) yelled at me for being concerned about them actually showing the next day. The entire experience was unprofessional and messy from start to finish. Moving is already stressful, this made it significantly worse. Save yourself the time and frustration and choose a company that communicates clearly and treats customers with respect. If I could give no stars I would. There was almost a fight between two of the movers in our home with kids present. One of them said he was a Crip (n-word) and they almost went at it in the living room. They seriously were yelling every word in the book. They ruined 3 pieces of furniture. They showed with truck with no straps and no wrap luckily I had straps and wrap but got charged like they supplied everything. They wrapped a couple lives of furniture not everything like what was expected. We had 5 guys at the start then 3 after the fight because they were told to leave and then 2 cause 1 didn't want to drive to our new place. Moving company without straps or wrap imagine that. My wife and I literally moved more boxes than the crew. So lazy and it was awful. Jim the owner didn't feel that all the was worthy of a discount and I was done as we all are after moving. When asking for a refund to replace my $650 bed, I was told they could file with insurance for $10 cents a pound so I would get virtually nothing back. They damaged my high-end furniture and decor, much of which is beyond repair, totally unprofessional and awful from start to finish!! NEVER use these movers. They: -did not properly secure my items and load them correctly, resulting in things moving around and causing tons of damage -(bed and couch were also loaded at the end, and the bed and mattress were flat as you can see, taking up tons of room that would have been free otherwise) - they did not wrap my box spring and couch I asked to have wrapped in the plastic I provided like I asked, both now have holes and scratches and may not be able to be repaired (along with many other items) - they didn't even take out the blankets I bought from u haul and provided for them from out of the packaging to protect items as you can see from the photos - when they arrived (which was late) they asked me what equipment I had, I told them, and they told me that was fine. As you can see, I contacted the main number for Fantastic Movers after the move and the contact person asked why I hadn't provided moving straps?! I had never been asked to provide those and the movers that came told me we were fine with the equipment available. That is not customary at all. - multiple people called me from the company during the move telling me they had "just arrived" after the movers had already started. Terrible, horrible and just plain ridiculous. Those three words are what best describe this company, it used to be amazing but I'm not sure what happened. We just had a horrible experience, they were 3 1/2 hours late and decided to charge us for an extra guy, saying it was because we had more stuff than what we said. So untrue, the photos they sent to their boss was not what they actually moved. Attached are the photos of what they left behind. Somehow it took them 7 hours to move the equivalent of a two bedroom. I blame it on them being exhausted from their first move. Not my problem though, they were moving like mud and totally jacked us. They were supposed to put up all the beds and remove and install tv mounts and they barely got the one bed put together. Also to cap it off they lost a piece to my son's bed and tracked dog poo into our brand new apartment. Thanks guys! On August 6, 2024 I hired Fantastic Movers to move me from one location to another 2 miles away. They sent a person to estimate the cost. I made sure he looked at everything in the living areas, basement and garage. Everything was packed in boxes and ready to go. He said it would take around 3 to 4 hours with 2 guys. after a couple of hours he said if I would agree to 2 more guys it would cost more per hour but it would get done faster. I reluctantly agreed One person left, so there were 3 guys loading. Still not making a lot of progress. The owner/manager called around 11pm and requested payment for their time up to now. I said they are not nearly done yet. But he insisted on getting paid. So I paid him by credit card 927.00.. Still loading. Not sure of the exact times as it was a little while ago and a lot has happened. Around 10:30pm we left to go pickup a couch that my grandsons grandparents were giving us. We went to the Geddes house and unloaded. They suggested another 2 guys and another truck to go to the old house and finish what they did not load. He said it will be faster and cheaper as they were going to be several hours yet unloading. I reluctantly agreed. Later I looked out and saw a truck that looked like their truck parked up the street opposite. No one came in from the truck for several hours. Then it was announced that the truck was there and they were unloading. The truck they unloaded was exactly the same as the truck that was parked, that now had disappeared. One guy came to me and said "no matter how careful we were one mirror got broken. ok so on we go. They finished unloading at 4 am. They called their boss who wanted immediate payment. I was reluctant as they had stated the broke one mirror. But at 4 am I was too tired to argue. I gave him my credit card information again for 1,694. The following morning I went outside and found the broken mirror parts in my next door neighbors front yard. I picked it up and put it in my trash. I then found they had lost the wooden divider that goes in between the 2 mirrors on my pier headboard. I later found that they had broken off 2 of the hidden lights on the headboard. I called the owner and told him about the breakage he said I'm not going to fix it. I gave you a discount... discount, when???? you can use that to pay for it. While unpacking i came across several broken glasses. At the time I just threw them away. While unpacking my dinnerware yesterday, I came across a large amount of breakage. The boxes were all marked fragile. I piled all of the broken pieces together. Those are the ones in the photo I attached. All of my furniture, glasses and dinnerware have gone through several moves, even interstate moves with not one breakage or furniture damage over the past 40 years. I hired Fantastic Movers a second time because my first move with them was fine but the second move was the worst I've ever had (and I've moved a lot). They were more than 5 hours late yesterday to move our house. We took off work and I even paid a colleague to cover a client for me in order to be at the house. We paid a dog sitter to watch our dogs so they could be out of the way when the movers were there. Not only were they late, when the truck finally got to the house there wasn't enough room and we had to wait for another one! They finally finished at 12:15am. Our first night in our new house was completely ruined. To top it off, the movers accidentally broke the garage door. Jim Brand (the owner I think) said he would have someone come fix it but that never happened. Jim blamed it on the fact that it was the end of the month and that the storage facility at the prior move had a slow elevator. I would never recommend The Fantastic Movers. We hired them to move equipment for our business, and while their labor team performs their job without issue, my experience with the owner/manager, Jim, was one of the most unpleasant I've encountered. The employees deserve credit for their hard work; however, the management/ownership is unprofessional, aggressive, and extremely disrespectful. Throughout the payment process, I was subjected to repeated aggressive and offensive language from management. When it came time to pay, the individual managing the transaction unleashed a shocking tirade over speakerphone, dropping over 50 f-bombs in five minutes while both the movers and I had to sit by and listen. This behavior was entirely unprovoked and beyond unprofessional. No customer deserves to be treated this way, and it reflects a complete lack of respect, courtesy, and professionalism from this company. If you value respect and decency, I strongly advise against engaging with this mover. The tirade began because we, as a business, did not have Venmo or Zelle for payment. When we attempted to pay by credit card, we were informed of a 3.4% surcharge. We offered to pay by ACH transfer or provide a check, but both options were refused, as ownership claimed they don't have a bank account and only accept Zelle, Venmo, or credit card. We were accused of avoiding payment, which was simply untrue, and were even threatened with legal action. Ultimately, this company refused legal tender by ACH, prompting a prolonged verbal attack from ownership. Regarding Colorado law, merchants are allowed to impose a credit card surcharge up to 2%, which must be disclosed clearly to customers before a transaction. The Fantastic Movers charged us 3.4%, which seems to exceed the legal limit, without prior disclosure. This was only revealed when it was time to pay, which left us with no alternative. We ultimately paid by credit card, and the 3.4% surcharge is documented on our invoice. Additionally, this company failed to provide essential documentation required in Colorado, such as the Rights & Responsibilities document, bill of lading, inventory list, and details on liability and valuation coverage. Our commercial printing machine which they moved may have been damaged in the move, yet we have no clear recourse due to the lack of proper documentation. In summary, I recommend avoiding The Fantastic Movers. The unprofessionalism and verbal abuse from management alone make this company one to steer clear of. Jim was never yelled at & knows the truth. The worst customer service, the worst experience I have ever had. Movers were 2.5 late, the owner was completely rude. I provided blankets, bubble wrap and towels. They loaded the truck with the mattresses upright in the front so I couldn't see behind them. The next day when the people we hired to unload the truck came they immediately asked to speak to me. One of the movers crawled in the truck and took pictures, the movers (fantastic movers) had just thrown everything behind the beds. DO NOT HIRE Fantastic Movers. They are far from fantastic. They damaged all of the high-end furniture pieces I asked them to deliver. I hired them for three simple furniture deliveries because they were available on the dates I needed them, and the owner promised that they would come and fix the damages from previous moves they had done for me. However, it's been a year and none of his promises have been kept. He promised to send someone to assess the damages, but no one came. Now, after a year, he says he will ask his insurance. Do not waste your money, time, and valuable furniture on them. They are not cheap considering all the damages they cause. I left a review on Thumbtack about the poor service I received from Fantastic Movers, and the company immediately responded with a false claim that they were unable to fix the damages due to them being reported too late (after 8 months from the delivery dates). This is untrue, as the movers who dropped the bed frame immediately contacted their boss, and I called him right away as well. Literally from the BEST to the WORST. I have used this company many times in the past but I kept hearing that his employees were starting their own company because Jim was rude to them but I didn't listen I hired him again only to find out that everyone left. I asked for 4 guys because it was one of my bigger jobs I had. (I provide movers for my rental tenants.) only to find out they were hired off of Craigslist TODAY. One of them looked like never lifted 15 lbs in his life and his performance proved that and another balled his fist at me where I had to tell him I won't fight but will shoot for self defense. See I'm a military man and don't play around with threats and when I told the owner Jim this he said I wasn't in the military and insinuated I had stolen valor. It's sad to see a company get so bad so quick but I now understand why all of his employee were leaving. Paying for a 4 man crew to only get 2 active workers is wild. Especially when the rates are the same and I literally paid 3x as much TODAY as I did when I last used Jim to move things into storage before I went on deployment just on December 1st 2024. I used UN-Fantastic Movers and it was a huge mistake! I think the worst part was the owner didn't keep his word and integrity was seriously absent. The movers were over two hours late. I scheduled people to help and locked elevators. We lost a lot of time and when I asked for a cost adjustment he sent me a really nasty text, and at the time said, "that's life"... The movers damaged two cherished one-of-a-kind pieces of wood furniture, and though he promised he would send a person to fix them 10 tines, I sat here waiting and changed my schedule that many times. What should have been a very simple, two-hour move (literally moving from one apt to another in the same complex) became a daylong nightmare. They pushed the move back 3 hours on the day of the move, completely broke a dresser, scratched a custom dining table, and scraped a brand new Babyletto changing table. The manager Jim was extremely unprofessional when we called to complain and said that his insurance company *might* pay approx. $80 to cover over $1,000 in damages if we were willing to file paperwork and wait for weeks for it to possibly be approved. After one of the supposedly "experienced" movers cussed my husband out for pointing out the damages, he was fired over the phone and then cussed my husband out again. We had to wait *another* hour for a different mover to come and finish the job. At the end of the day, Jim reluctantly "comped" the move, but charged us for the truck and refused to cover the damaged furniture. His response to this 1 star review is riddled with lies. Look at all the other 1 star reviews, oddly similar situations. Lies listed below! 1) He NEVER called me before to tell me he would make two trips so don't believe his sob story. He mentioned this only after the crew got to my house and my stuff was damaged. 2) My original proposal included a king sized mattress cover and TV boxes. His crew had NOTHING, not even standard wrap. 3) The damage to the mattress was not in my pickup, it was the mattress that was supposed to be wrapped and was transported in their truck. This had NOTHING to do with his insurance denying the claim. He just doesn't have the proper insurance. 4) His entire response is FABRICATED, STAY AWAY from this company. WARNING! Here is a breakdown of all the issues: The truck was way too small for the job The guys spent over an hour of the move just staring at the truck and rearranging things trying to get stuff to fit. I ended up having to put a queen size mattress and my 75inch TV in the bed of my truck because they couldn't get it to fit and it was just sitting in the street. They did not have any materials for the move I paid for a king sized mattress cover and TV box/wrap, they did not have them I provided a box and a blanket, wrap, and tape for the guy to wrap my TV. He used TWO full rolls of tape, it seemed like he had never even wrapped a TV before. None of my furniture was properly wrapped. My sectional sofa was tossed in the truck and not wrapped and was damaged, they did not wrap my TV stand, Dressers, etc. They really had nothing you would expect a moving company to have. I was told all of this would be included when I made the reservation. Several items were left at the house that were supposed to be moved. They left two large area rugs, two trash cans, a small safe that I showed them upon arrival, my office chair, a large painting, two large boxes, stand over toilet, all of the screws to the furniture they took apart, and several other miscellaneous items. They left one of three cushions to my couch and the legs to the couch. Upon arrival they set the couch in the living room on the floor with a missing cushion and no legs, not ideal. Very unprofessional situation unfolded with your team One of the three guys claimed to of lost his wallet at the house. He said it was in his pants and it MUST of fallen out when he changed. Who changes at a job site? The entire truck was packed, door closed, and he spent roughly 30 minutes looking for his wallet. He would not get in the truck even when the other crew members were telling him they had to go. We felt very uncomfortable and threatened by him because he was refusing to leave and just wondering around our house and not responding to us when we were talking to him. The guy who lost his wallet stared down my wife and I and kept looking at my pockets as if I had his wallet, it was VERY strange and extremely unprofessional. He went up to the driver of the truck and asked him to empty his pockets to prove that he didn't have his wallet. The driver got out of the truck and started screaming "ARE YOU CALLING ME A FUCKING THEIF, FUCK YOU" and proceeded to throw all of the things in his pockets on our sidewalk. With that said our neighbors and their two small children were standing no more than 15 feet away and ran inside. My wife was extremely uncomfortable and asked me if we should just have them unload our stuff and leave, she was petrified that these guys were going to start fighting at our house. The guy who lost his wallet then walked towards me and was staring at my pockets again so I emptied them as well to prove to him I didn't have his wallet. This isnt what I signed up for when I requested your companies services. The situation was so bad the guy even apologized to my wife and I when they were done moving at my house. Saying "I was very unprofessional earlier and I want to apologize, I swear I usually don't react like that" After all of this, several of my items were damaged during the move. I was told this would be handled through insurance and I had to make a payment to start the claims processes. SCAM! They dont have the proper coverage for items in transit and THEY ARE A MOVING COMPANY. Jim doesn't treat his people right I'm someone who worked for jim for about almost half a year now and this isn't real moving. A lot of people he has do jobs are people he randomly ask off Craigslist. One time he had me work with a man who was homeless and he smellled like drugs. and he doesn't pay us for driving in between jobs when we use our personal vehicles. He doesn't care about personal time he gets upset like a child and doesn't respond to you. It's been a couple of years but I figure better late than never to update my review to reflect my true experience- I posted initially with the incentive that I would get a discount for a positive review at the end of the job, which I did receive. I was happy with the service until I returned to the original house I moved from and saw that my window blinds had been broken and instead of telling me, one of the movers had lifted the blinds to hide the damage. I usually leave them down so I thought it was strange and was shocked to see that a blind was broken in half. When I notified the company, I was told I would receive a $50 refund but no money ever came back to me. It wasn't a huge expense to repair but I'm disappointed how everything unfolded, from hiding the damage to not following through with a refund, especially since they were the ones to offer it (I didn't ask). I also had a hand truck that one of the movers asked if he could use and he ended up not returning to me. Not my favorite moving company to deal with. I scheduled my appointment window for 9 in the morning. and it was confirmed. Yes, I was a day late in giving my information to the company due to my new place changing my apartment last minute. This was my fault. When I called them up at 9:30 with no one here, the owner Jim Brand told me he had already filled that time slot and rescheduled me for 2 cause he didn't hear back from me in time. But he told me he depends on communication. 5 minutes after talking with him I got an email saying the movers would be there at 2. The movers pulled up at 12:26. Still trying to maneuver into the driveway. Didn't start working until 12:30. Both movers were absolutely fantastic. They were great. Even with my new place screwing me over with the garage, they finished everything right at 3:30. Took a few minutes to get ahold of Jim to take a payment. He said I owed him for 3 1/2 hours. From 12:26-3:52. I told him his guys finished at exactly 12:30. He did correct himself but still charged me an additional 15 minutes of work for an extra unknown 5 minutes. Nickel and diming me. I never complained that one of his guys broke a light fixture in my place because I'm not as petty as he is. Plus I also knew it was an accident. Please do not use this company unless you want to be scammed. They were hired thru U-haul for labor help. The owner does not care about the customer, all he cares about is taking your money and telling lies, and more lies. The owner is a slick con artist, who will say what you want to hear and string you along making you believe he is on your side. In the end, both the owner and his wife answer the phone with smiles, all the while holding their hands to take your money. There is no resolution for any problem-solving or customer care. Protect yourself and your hard-earned household property and stay away from Fantastic Movers out of Grand Junction, Colorado. There is a lot going on here internally that no one wants you the consumer to know about with this company. I would give this company a less than 1 star review. Daniel and Jose were very professional and careful with our furniture. Great value and customer service. Jim informed me about the delay which comes with the territory of moving. I just wanted a guarantee that they would come today which they did. Our job was pretty straight forward with moves to garage and some items to the basement. If I could rate this company with no stars I would. They broke a chair of mine during the move. I was told they would take it, have it fixed and return it to me. Two months later and I still cannot get them to call me back regarding my chair. It's a family heirloom that has been in my family for many decades. One worker named Josh contacted me saying the chair was fixed and he could deliver it to my storage location. Three weeks has since passed and he won't return my texts or calls. I've left the office several messages and no one will return my calls. Do not hire this company to do your move, there are plenty of responsible movers out there. Also, I have received several text messages at 3 am from one of the movers saying hi. Completely unprofessional and a scam of a company. read more
